The cost to maintain a license to Minitab was more than we could justify for the amount of use that we get out of the software. Our primary use of Minitab is for process capability evaluations on products as they are released and built over time. We have guidelines to create the initial designs, but there is always a need to account for natural process variation. On occasion, we have used the design of experiments features.
