I mostly use Minitab Statistical Software to conduct design of experiments for formulation work, primarily using the mixture design function. I find it makes creating DOEs fairly easy and gives helpful results, even if the analysis part takes a bit more work. I like how highly multi-functional it is, performing a wide variety of analyses, which is useful for visualizing my formulation designs. The base software itself includes a wide variety of analyses, allowing me to do both routine data analysis like t-tests and ANOVA, as well as more specialized tasks like complicated DOE. Minitab got better. The latest update pack has smarter AI, smoother workflows and extremely intuitive visuals. The new automated capability analysis, interactive charts and other tools inbuilt makes statistical analysis effortless. Minitab now feels more faster and user friendly. Minitab is great for statistical analysis, but it has a lot of room to grow. UI still feels a bit outdated and streamlining it would make more sense to a new user. I started out using Minitab in 2004 after a frustrating time trying to build boxplots for my quality test data in Excel. My manager had just attended Six Sigma training and showed me Minitab, which I self-taught into building Boxplots of quality data that were much more meaningful than average data points. From there I learned how to perform hypothesis tests, build control charts and use ANOVA to determine shifts in process behavior as I have changed jobs and locations. Minitab = Statistics made EASY!
