# Which patient relationship management (PRM) platforms support multi-channel communication preferences?

Hello G2, I've been trying to sort out which patient relationship management (PRM) platforms genuinely support multi-channel communication preferences, rather than offering text as an afterthought to a phone-first system. Patients don't all want to be reached the same way, and forcing everyone into one channel tends to just mean some percentage of the list never actually gets the message.

What actually matters here is probably: covering text, phone, and email without forcing patients into one channel, support for patients who don't speak English, and updates that reach the full patient list without extra manual work.

Solutionreach: patients across every age group are reached in the way each one prefers to be contacted. Newsletters and office updates go out to the full patient list quickly.

Weave: real-time texting sits alongside phone and fax in one platform. Translation support helps reach patients who don't speak English.

OhMD: texting and phone both stay in play, since younger, busier patients respond faster to a text while others still prefer calling. Having both in one place means staff aren't choosing a channel and hoping it lands.

Has adding more channels actually improved patient response for anyone, or has it mostly come down to picking the right one or two and doing those well? And does the channel mix shift much depending on the type of practice?

I’d look beyond whether all three channels exist and test whether preference follows the patient across workflows. If someone chooses text for reminders but staff still default to calls for follow-ups, the platform is multichannel without really being preference-aware. The useful test is whether the right channel gets selected automatically without staff remembering each patient’s choice.
