Mimecast Aware works fine for us. We haven’t had issues with it flagging something wrong or missing, or hallucinating, so I find it trustworthy. It helps with time-consuming operational work by going through conversations between our sales, SDR, and BDR teams and customers and prospects, and it helps us flag risks and improve our results. I like the collaboration security module because it protects unstructured data and monitors communication channels. It helps us get more out of our communication tools and internal and external team conversations, including Microsoft Teams. I also value the compliance and governance features: they help make sure employees are GDPR compliant and flag risks in real time. The policy-driven engine is useful for flagging risky content, quarantining risky files, and replacing messages that violate policy. First of all, I am a very old user of Mimecast Email security gateway and training module as well. So this was a new thing from Mimecast that we loved.

This is a DLP, data Loss Prevention type product that scan your email and alert you for the patterns, like a spammer has asked for any login credentials and user has replied to it. So in this case the Aware will detect it and inform you.

And all these things depends on the set of policies it provides to us. We can set our keyword for the search.

The platform is easy and clean, and it will not take much time to understand it. It's performance is also good as expected. Mimecast provide it as an additional product but the price for old customers is very less because I got it at very low price.

The first and biggest problem with these type of products is false positive alerts and Aware have it as well.

A legitimate discussion between your accounting team and customers or vendors where money transfer is involved will be treated as an alert and you have to investigate it. Yes we have the option to whitelist those customers but what if you have this number in thousands? This is one the main issue with this product.

The other issues I would say is the AI capabilities. Every tool have AI features but sometime they did not help much and end with wrong suggestions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like most is the visibility it provides across collaboration platforms like Teams, Slack, and Zoom. It’s been a great company-wide tool. It has blocked a lot of unsafe links that employees might otherwise click in emails, which has minimized threats to our business. The initial setup of Mimecast Aware was somewhat challenging for me. Understanding how the different pieces fit together was not straightforward, particularly with the administration console. I found the UI not very intuitive, which added to the difficulty. We even needed help from Mimecast support to get around certain issues. So overall, I'd rate the difficulty of setup around a seven out of ten. Additionally, I think the lack of a continuous post-assessment analysis engine is a limitation for my specific use case; it functions more like a real-time listening and surveillance pipeline, which doesn't fully meet my needs. I like that Mimecast Aware is short, straightforward, and easy for employees to engage with. I find customization and reporting could be improved. I would find it useful to customize training content to specific teams or risk levels. Having more granular control over training by department, role, or risk level would be helpful for me. On reporting, I would appreciate more flexible dashboards.
