One challenge with SharePoint is that the platform can feel overwhelming at first, especially for users who are not very familiar with Microsoft’s ecosystem. What I like best about Microsoft SharePoint is how it centralizes documents, information, and team processes in one accessible place. I use it regularly to store and organize files, collaborate with colleagues, and ensure everyone is working with the most up-to-date version of a document.

The integration with Microsoft 365 is especially valuable. Being able to open, edit, and share Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files directly from SharePoint reduces unnecessary downloads and email attachments. What I dislike about Microsoft SharePoint is that it can sometimes feel a bit complex for new users, and the navigation isn’t always very intuitive at first. Performance can also be a little slow in poor network conditions, which affects quick access to documents. In addition, searching for files can occasionally be inconsistent, especially when proper naming or organization isn’t followed. It’s easier to use than Access, and it’s convenient and customizable. It makes it simple to find a list of items. You can create different lists and then narrow those lists down in a way that makes sense to you. Native SharePoint workflows used to be very useful and convenient. Now Microsoft has shifted to Power Automate and other Power Platform tools, which you have to pay for. We used to be able to do much more with the native SharePoint workflows without any additional cost, but now it’s essentially the same capability under a new name—Power Automate—and you’re expected to pay for it. I think Microsoft Sharepoint is easier to use than using the shared drives on the organizations computers. I find that being able to open share point via both program and browser gives you two options to access, in case something is faulty. I personally like that I can open share point in the web browser and find the interface easier and the performance is faster to use than using the microsoft apps. I do not like that the Microsoft Sharepoint homepage is hard to navigate to. I also dont like how you have to be an owner in a group sharepoint in order to edit documents uploaded to a group sharepoint. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It’s very easy to download files and share them across our organization. When I need to access something for training purposes, or to learn how to format specific communications or writing, anyone can highlight the relevant files and I can find them quickly. To be fair, I don’t like that I don’t have access to everything on SharePoint. Certain files and sections require specific permissions to view, and I sometimes can’t find the information I need because of that. It’s not really a SharePoint problem so much as a security/clearance issue. That said, I can see how this is a positive for organizations, since it helps limit who has access to what.
