What do you like best about Microsoft Power BI?

1. If one has M365 which includes PowerBI Pro, then integration with other M365 applications like Excel in OneDrive, SharePoint, etc., becomes very easy. 2. Easy to install 3. Compared to Tableau, which costs ~$1500/- for even using the application, we can use the PowerBI tool for free and if we want to publish and share the dashboard, then only we pay. This is especially helpful for beginners to learn the tool without shelling out money. 4. Best suited for daily analysis of the data Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Power BI?

1. If the datasets are large and complex relationships are developed, then the performance decreases. 2. Some visualizations which are third-party are expensive in PowerBI; quite frankly, these should have been default visualizations in PowerBI, for example: Radar Chart, Box Plot Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

1. The management gets to see the live performance of the metrics which makes decision-making easier. If we have a connection to Azure, Datalake, etc., then the refresh frequency can be increased in a day. 2. Easy to visualize the data, although DAX is slightly complex, but if one masters it or is able to take help from community forums, one can accomplish making dynamic charts. What do you like best about Microsoft Power BI?

I really like the data gateway feature in Microsoft Power BI for providing a layer of privacy and convenience. It allows us to push data straight from our database into the data gateway without public access concerns, which is very convenient for us. I'm also impressed with how well the filtering works with visualizations, particularly using the ArcGIS plugin. It's pretty amazing and convenient to be able to filter from the map level view on specific events or errors. Microsoft Power BI does a really good job of harmonizing our vehicle telemetry data and notes from driving evaluators into visual dashboards. Additionally, it's useful for giving insights, especially with the ArcGIS plugins, and allows us to do preprocessing with oData. It's convenient that users are hitting Power BI servers instead of our own database, which prevents our database from slowing down. What do you dislike about Microsoft Power BI?

The pricing of Microsoft Power BI is challenging, especially the very high cost for the top tier that allows public access without needing a login. It's very expensive and was cost prohibitive for us, which was disappointing since we really wanted that feature. There was also a learning curve in getting acquainted with the software, especially with oData preprocessing, which was challenging for some of our less technical team members. Microsoft Power BI helps us visualize complex vehicle telemetry and road error data effectively in dashboards. The ArcGIS integration provides useful insights into road risks.
