We primarily use Methvin’s Job Costing module. Its first principles cost rollup (rather than just markup or historical averages) gives much more confidence in our budgets. It allows us to see, line by line, how each labor, material, and equipment item was derived which is invaluable from a compliance and vendor onboarding perspective. While Methvin is competitively priced for fully loaded users, we felt some friction when scaling across smaller projects or deploying to part-time estimators. For example, we wanted a “light user” license (view only or minimal editing) at a reduced cost, but that tier was not sufficiently flexible in the package options we reviewed.
