My staff can import CSVs, build heat maps, set territories, and run drive-time analyses without hand-holding. When we had questions, live chat gave direct answers that solved the issue on the first try. If you manage sales territories, service calls, or larger datasets, Maptive delivers on power, simplicity, and support. The only excuse for lacking aesthetics is not exploring all of the features to discover different ways to change the displays. Maptive works well for its intended use: displaying geo-spatially specific data onto a map. The customer service team is quick to respond and will help you work through issues. Overall great product that will help turn a boring table or array of data into an interesting map or series of maps to help get your point across for a sales pitch or a research paper. **What do you dislike about Maptive?** The integration of Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel (in my case Sheets) was slightly challenging to get correct. There are some small details in headings and formatting of data to get right to make sure the synchronization works efficiently, that if ignored, make it so the data does not show up properly. Once everything is set up right, then it works quickly. **What problems is Maptive solving and how is that benefiting you?** Maptive could be applied in nearly every case where data is cataloged by some location, but in my case it displayed my data throughout the Houston Metropolitan Area for a research project on electric vehicle charge anxiety. Maptive allowed me to take thousands of cells of data and compile it into a series of maps that showed electric vehicle distributions by zip code and Tesla Supercharging Stations with heat maps to create density maps. Undoubtedly the maps it produced made the research project much more manageable to read through from an outsider's perspective and demonstrated the data in a way that everyone should be able to understand. My only regret is that I didn't have the time and resources to do more with Maptive for this specific research project. ### 3. Given my reliance on spreadsheets and marketing tools, the ability to visualize my data proved to be immensely effective. As a newbie to mapping software, I was a bit unsure about how I would transition into using Maptive. However, using the software was surprisingly easy and intuitive. I would also like to give a big shout-out to the support team at Maptive. In addition to their existing knowledge base, I was able to schedule a demo about my specific use case, and the team was able to guide and teach me. Drive and Sheets), show different pins based on our data columns and allow us to quickly see radius for quick matchmaking. All of these and many more features that we didn’t even use made us choose Maptive. The speed to bring everything up and start using the tool quickly was a factor in the decision. Customer support was super helpful early in the process. **What do you dislike about Maptive?** For our purposes, we only use about 10% of the system’s functionality and we’ve been happy and no big complaint. The only element that I’d wish was an option but may be a limitation of the google drive/sheets integration where Maptive data doesn’t auto update when a spreadsheet changes. Not a big issue since we always knew before using Maptive if we needed to updated the spreadsheet. **What problems is Maptive solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our organization faciliates the physical delivery of Christmas Trees by volunteers to recepients throughtout the US, so we had a need to optimize the matchmaking of these two individuals. We needed a way to visualize the homes of volunteers and recepients to decide whether they were a good match based on their relative distance to each other. Maptive allowed us to visualize and make the match super quick compared to how we originally did it manually. Being able to visualize the data on the map was helpful and the radius tool was the icing on the cake. ### 5. The ability to view set locations, print high resolution maps and keep the maps on brand makes Maptive a very useful product. Their support is great and they are open to new feature suggestions and input from their customers. It's a fantastic solution to many business mapping needs. **What do you dislike about Maptive?** It's currently not as customizable as some code-based map api's (Mapbox, etc.), which is not a fair comparison, nor will it allow for concise map theme control (or import of JSON themes from Google's MapStyle or SnazzyMaps), but they are working on these exact features and upgrades. The slick interface and existing features more than make up for any current wish list items being worked on. **Recommendations to others considering Maptive:** If you have geo visualization or presentation mapping needs but do not have in house developers or the time to build custom map applications, take a look at Maptive. We've setup three versions of the same map for our free users and two membership tiers, each with it's own filters/functions, all feeding off the same master list that we built using another automation service that syncs with our master master list. Five minutes I can have everything refreshed. So far I have heard exactly zero negative feedback or bugs. We're about to expand our map to be international from it's current North American focus, and I'm resting easy about using your tool for our future plans. Maptive has become an integral part of my job. It is essential for us to visually see where opportunity is located in an area we are targeting by using the import option to import our prospects and leads, creating territories around them by using the shading feature, sharing them with others and then adjusting them accordingly. Analyzing and developing territories has been a portion of my job for the past 7 years and was recently turned into a full time position. I believe a big part of that decision was made possible by others seeing the importance of what I do through Maptive. Additionally, I have never experienced better customer service from any other company. I can always rely on them to return my emails very quickly, sometimes within minutes. Time is money, and when you have someone who you can rely on to make sure deadlines are met, that makes a world of difference and makes your job so much easier. **What do you dislike about Maptive?** The only thing I can think of is that I wish there was a way to map by 6 digit Canadian post codes. **Recommendations to others considering Maptive:** Prior to purchasing Maptive, I tried other programs and none of them compared to it. It's very easy to use once you learn all of its capabilities. If I come across something that I am not sure Maptive is capable of, I will email customer service to see if it is possible, and 99% of the time, it is. It is definitely worth the money. If you are unsure, just try the free trial. I like how you can create an optimized route once all of the points were plotted. Also, we had over 40 locations (staff members' houses) plotted and we were able to divide the area into quadrants and create an optimized route for each quadrant. **What do you dislike about Maptive?** I struggled some with the labeling of the map markers. It may have been user error, but I had to dig some and reach out for help to figure out how to get the labels to automatically show up on the map markers. **Recommendations to others considering Maptive:** I'm not in business, which seems to be the primary users of the website, but still found Maptive easy to use. It was great for designing a route map for a lot of locations. I was also impressed with the customer service. Paul was quick to respond to my questions and showed me how to use some of the tools. He even extended our free trial so that I could make a map for our 8th graders continuation parade. **What problems is Maptive solving and how is that benefiting you?** We used Maptive to do a surprise teacher appreciation gift drop off. Trying to find over 40 addresses on a map and design a route without the software would be have been very cumbersome. Navigating the different functionalities was simple and intuitive. I was able to effectively able to map the canvassing territory for the sales team down to the specific road in a neighborhood.
