Mantis BT is open source and we can Modify the software as per our needs, the design is very user-friendly and easy to use.

**What do you dislike about MantisBT?**

Mantis does not have workflow management or test cases management. It has limited support for reports thus sometimes it's not very useful.

**What problems is MantisBT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mantis BT is helping us with bug tracking, bug resolution, and project management thus helping the team track project milestones, set project goals and deadlines, and manage project resources.

**What do you like best about MantisBT?**

Mantis supports all types of document uploading that will give developers or QA to verify and identify any reported defect very quickly. The email notification function in Mantis is handy and make thing easier. Mantis is free and open-source. Using Mantis, I can track every stage in the software testing cycle. Mantis is well tested and maintained beautifully by the creators. Mantis is a widely used defect tracking tool all over the world. The main features I like most are user management, summary, mail notification, and exporting part.

**What do you dislike about MantisBT?**

Since it is based on PHP, it inherits some slowness, and sometimes it is hard to set up email notifications depending on the different server environments.

**Recommendations to others considering MantisBT:**

Mantis is the best tool in the market for defect tracking. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for an open-source good quality bug tracking tool.

I am using Mantis for defect tracking. It is straightforward to use and well organized.

MantisBT is very intuitive and straightforward if your team does not have much need for customization or integrations with other software. MantisBT is a solid, reliable database for tracking bugs and issues.

**What do you dislike about MantisBT?**

Let's get the obvious out of the way - the interface is dated. Usually this isn't an issue, but when you're working intensively with a specific software, aesthetics are an unexpected yet appreciated aspect. Additionally, my team has found that when needing more flexibility (integrations, workflows, etc) MantisBT requires much more technical acumen to implement the desired changes.

**What problems is MantisBT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mantis BT is a reliable bug tracking software for teams that desire simplicity. The Dashboard provides all of your relevant information (assigned tickets, created tickets, monitored tickets, etc) streamlining the development and management process.

It is very versatile and configurable, useful for traditional methodologies, easy to share with end users, giving them different permissions and the ability to hide comments.

**What do you dislike about MantisBT?**

It does NOT work well for Agile methodologies, this should be reviewed. Since it is not possible to have easier and more agile searches, and there are no ways for card processes or sprint planning.

We are working on a project where we use the tool to be able to talk with the client and keep a record of the hours spent on their requirements.

It is a tool that allows efficient management of corrections and evolutions for our HR software. Everyone can easily follow the resolution.

The interface seems to be from another time. This point should be improved to make the user experience more pleasant.

We have better management of bugs. Indeed, this tool has improved the coordination between the different teams (user assistance, developer, project management and business).

2. Easy to manager.
3. Email notification.

1. No fancy statistic diagram on dashboard, only table with figures. (The boss loves diagrams)
2. No columns for issues on timeline, like "testing phase", "pilot-run phase", to group them.
3. No columns for issues on source, for example, the system allows the administrator to upload a function list and every issue will be related to specified function.
4. No auto-reply robot and online chat messenger to deal with critical issues for my client.

**What do you like best about MantisBT?**

I am able to manage all my projects and tasks for each project in one place.  I use the system as an archive of all past projects and current projects.  I'm able to easily sort and search by topic/project and am able to easily added notes and new information.  Because I have a large team, I'm also able to transfer projects based on volume in or to redistribute work loads.  It woks well for me.

**What do you dislike about MantisBT?**

I don't have any complaints on the product.  It does it's job.

Easy to use and easy to train others to you.  A simple, straight forward tool to manage projects, tasks and people.

**What problems is MantisBT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to keep all projects and IT tasks in a central place.  I'm able to track down valuable information on any past or present project or task.  I can easily evaluate work load by employee and shift projects if needed.

The ability to add endless notes on a project and have them all dated.  All notes and updates are shared with the members on that project.  One point of entry and contact.

There is no downsides of mantisbt  and we can easily use this product.

Go with mantisBT we can make good track of our work and we can share or assign issues which we found while doing testing and there is an option to attach image files like screenshots etc.

MantisBT is more helpfull for manual testing purpose and it is used to raise bugs and it is also has an option assign to particular developer to resolve the issues and we can make a track of all issues which are raised and we can generate a excel sheet of all those issues and we can maintain a track several projects with one user.

We deployed Mantis ourselves. We had no problem, it was very easy to do. Mantis is easy to use. It allows us to manage perfectly the monitoring of bugs and developments.

There's nothing I don't like! It is a very functional and easy to use !

We needed to track all our development projects in one place. Before the deployment of Mantis, we all work on Excel files on our side. We lacked structure in the management of our developments.

it is a tool without superfluous functionalities. They are all useful and very well thought out. I particularly appreciate the filters that are very practical.

The only thing I don’t like is the interface. It could be improved to make the use of the tool more enjoyable for users.

Before we didn’t have tools common to developers and test teams. We missed a lot of things, such as bugs fixed but not tested or bugs identified but not fixed... Since we’ve been using Mantis, we don’t have any more problems like this.

I use the "Synthesis" tab a lot. As a project manager, he offers me an overview of many aspects such as the number of Mantis open per project, number of open Mantis, number of fixed Mantis, statistics by developers ...

The "Synthesis" tab does not have a filter. I just have statistics on the whole since the tool was put in place. It might be useful to add a filter by date. That would allow me to have more reliable statistics.

Mantis is very simple to use. it allows to easily follow several projects, especially thanks to filters that are very well thought out.

Mantis is not easy to understand especially for the non-technical person. For example, the concept of child class and parent class is not obvious to understand.

We needed to ensure better tracking of our IT developments and bug fixes. We have a better vision of the work to be done on each project and we are better tracking our progress.

Mantis is an excellent bug tracking tool. It is simple to use and has many features like the insertion of a bug and details about it, assignment, filter system ... and it is free ! 

**What do you dislike about MantisBT?**

I do not like the filter system. There are often bugs and the result is not coherent with what I asked. I often have to repeat the process several times.

We set up Mantis to have a better vision of our development activity. It is rather a success. Before we develop each of our side without knowing what was happening for other developers.

MantisBT allows us to structure our different projects. 
Each team has its own dedicated space on MantisBT and manages it in its own way. 
It is also a good analytical tool that allows us to see what we have done right and wrong.

The search with filters is not perfect. There are often bugs and the results are sometimes strange...

Main problems I am solving with MantisGT is follow the developments of my team. 
I can easily identify sprints where we are behind schedule and also those that are problematic for us.

MantisGT is a simple tool with the necessary functionalities to follow developments.There are no unnecessary features.

**What do you dislike about MantisBT?**

The user interface (UI) is not intuitive and looks older. It's written in lowercase. The colors are not nice.The UI is not user-friendly. I think a non-technical person might have difficulty using it..

MantisGT has made the monitoring of the development activity easier and more efficient. We have indicators, we know what is being processed, what it is not..

I like Mantic Bug tracker. Mantis Bug Tracker is a free and open source, web-based bug tracking system. The most common use of MantisBT in our company is to track software defects.
It is easy to create task, easy to control and review and the best thing that you got all update to email so no need to check the site

some settings features are hard to change, the process is a little bit complecated

**What do you like best about MantisBT?**

We've been using Mantis BT to create and assign development tasks for about 5 years hosted on a local server.  We have over 15,000 issues and related images and 35 developers and product managers actively adding and managing tickets.  On a Saturday morning a few weeks ago or server s#$%t the bed and I had 24 hours to get things running again.  I had a backup as of that Friday.  I contacted the Mantis Hub staff that morning to see if they could help.  Long story short they had us up and running on Mantis Hub by Sunday afternoon with all issues and all staff accounts intact - I sent out the new URL and we were business as usual on Monday morning and now I don't have to manage another server in-house - should have moved over to Mantis Hub years ago.  If I could give the Mantis support people a 20 above, I would happily do it.  Great work!

Nothing to complain about - meets all our development needs and has for many years.  

**Recommendations to others considering MantisBT:**

The product itself is exactly what we have needed for our uses.  Having managed our own local install for 5 plus years, I would highly recommend moving to Mantis Hub - takes one more headache off my plate and works flawlessly.  

**What problems is MantisBT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have an enterprise level software package which is the provides the back bone for associations and other education providers to manage their online and live education via a web interface.  We have used Mantis BT from the beginning of our development to create and manage our entire development process.  From time to time we look at other more complicated systems, and always return to Mantis - it's simple and straightforward and meets all our needs.

**What do you like best about MantisBT?**

Mantis is my main work tool, I use it to track quality in the software development projects I work on. It is easy to implement, its interface is very visual in organizing issues according to their status, and it links correctly with Testlink to provide a much more explicit traceability. It has user roles according to responsibilities, which allows tracking the entire team. Mantis is an efficient solution if you work in QA.

**What do you dislike about MantisBT?**

The interface at this point already feels a bit outdated. The module for exporting incidents is very poor, it exports in a plain document without any kind of formatting.

**Recommendations to others considering MantisBT:**

Tool for efficient incident management, open source, easy to implement and maintain.

**What problems is MantisBT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is possible to track the status of incidents in real time, the team stays informed at all times about the statuses or assigned incidents because notifications arrive. The work becomes much more fluid and controlled.

If you using this is first time than it is tough on beginning after you feel great to use this.

1) It is a open source bug tracking tool.
2) Best thing which I like most is: it is easy to use and easily understandable.
3) It's in-built feature of reports helps us to get effective reports for specific issues.
3) It also support database testing which is also a great feature.

I didn't find any bug while working on it but Configuration of application is complex; requires some technical knowledge to configure it.

**What do you like best about MantisBT?**

We use Mantis Hub which is a SaaS product utilising Mantis Bug Tracker. 

We chose Mantis Hub because it has a very simple and clean user interface but has all the functionality we need from our issue management tool. 

For us, it was the best issue management tool in terms of user experience - the navigation is very intuitive, raising an issue is quick, and its general look and feel makes the product stand out from the alternatives we trialled.

From an administrative perspective, it's very quick and easy to create new projects, as well as bulk loading new users. This is very handy when we need to create a project for a new client coming onto our service.

The support service from Mantis Hub is fantastic and has removed any headaches relating to hosting and maintenance. On the rare occasion we've raised an issue, the response and resolution from the support team have been very prompt and helpful.

**What do you dislike about MantisBT?**

Not a lot! It would be nice to have more integrations with other SaaS products (mainly test and project management tools) but this hasn't impacted us. They have published APIs so - if required - we could integrate with other tools.

**What problems is MantisBT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We implemented Mantis Hub just under 12 months ago as part of an overhaul in our issue management process. We were previously managing issues via emails which was very inefficient, often led to issues being missed and didn't provide our clients with a view of the progress for each issue raised.

Using Mantis Hub has resolved all of the administrative problems we had with emails, freeing up resource to focus on resolving the issues being raised by clients. We're also able to quickly assign issues to the various internal teams within the business, rather than waiting for a long email chain to eventually reach the right person who can fix the problem. This has led to shorter resolution times.

Client relationships are healthier because they're getting regular feedback through the tool and are able to prioritise any issues significantly impacting their business. SLA reporting is now much easier and we can quickly identify any issues where we're likely to miss our SLAs, allowing us to focus on them before we're in breach.

Overall, Mantis Hub has given us the opportunity to significantly improve the service we provide to our clients, whilst also increasing our operational efficiency.

I like how you can search for a project by its project number or name and it will narrow down all of the submitted issues to just the information related to that project. It helps to see what tickets are open or closed for a particular project.

**What do you dislike about MantisBT?**

Sometimes when I submit a report, it says I forgot to fill in one of the required parts and to select the back button to make the change. I select the back button and it does not go back to the report (like it should), but instead it completely deletes it and goes to the "My View" then I have to redo the entire ticket. That is very frustrating. 

**Recommendations to others considering MantisBT:**

The department I work in uses it to keep our numerous daily project tasks in order. We use it primarily for issues for our projects because it offers a great interactive interface that displays the issue sent it and keeps track of all the users who have commented/are working on the issue to get it fixed. I recommend it for company's/departments that need a ticketing software to help keep track of issues and people involved with that particular project.

I like that it can keep and sort all issues found with a project. Then, once the testing is complete, I am able to go back and sort to see exactly what was changed for a single project. Keeps the number of Post-It notes to a minimum and keeps thing organized.

Entering an issue into Mantis takes a while. There are several fields to fill out and that can take some time. That being said, the benefits far outweigh the cost of time.

It works. As long as you are willing to provide the information, it will come in handy when looking back for possible future changes.

MantisBT is a very good bug tracking software. We've deployed it in our own server and worked perfectly. The best thing is that it is open source, so we forked it and brought it to our needs. Very nice UI, simple and efficient.

If I can compare it to Jira which I also used, it doesn't provide the same support for the teams. Actually, in the latest version of Mantis that I used, there were no teams available, which is difficult for many small teams

As I said in my initial comment, it provides a lightweight software. Suitable for smaller companies.

It is very good for project management, for tracking and assigning tasks. It offers comprehensive statistics on many different aspects. Additionally, it is very intuitive and the interface is very simple.

the simplicity of the interface is perhaps the biggest problem, it looks like a web application from the 90s, let's say that in certain aspects it could be improved a lot. Visually a bit outdated, and in terms of functionality, at times it is a bit tedious despite being so simple and intuitive.

First of all its free so no need to buy any license.
Its faster and the UI is easy to understand. 
We can handle multiple projects there is no limit.
We have a mobile versions for Android, window and IPhone devices.

UI is not much attractive.
No warning or notifications for tickets or issue that has near future end dates. We just go in and check one by one manually.

Easy to collaborate on and track issues with teammates/ other departments.

Time-out issues cause some re-typing which can be obnoxious (it doesn't always take too long, can be by the time you're done typing up an issue). I tend to keep an email open or blank doc and copy/paste as I go so I don't have to try to remember from scratch what I had in the fields.

Mostly web-based collaborative solutions. We are able to track issues and resolve them; assigning based on severity and type.

Heavy and slow UI, it is also not so user friendly Ui which creates loading issues and session timeout issues when posting tickets.

**What do you like best about MantisBT?**

I set MantisBT up and configured it for my team in about an hour and a half.  What I like the best is how the program is so straightforward to use, from start to finish. Anyone can jump in, get the information they need, and then get on with their day. There's no slick UI to deal with, it's all simple text.

**What do you dislike about MantisBT?**

The only thing I'm really not a fan of is how attachments are treated in the tickets. In some other bug trackers I've used, it's possible to slot images in-line with text information. With MantisBT, you have to attach images and there's no way to reference them except for their file name. We type a lot of "see Figure 001" in our tickets, and that seems a little silly.

**Recommendations to others considering MantisBT:**

MantisBT is a cheap, no-frills platform, but it certainly delivers more than it asks of you. If you aren't hung up about fancy UI, and need something right away, this is definitely a program you should look into.  I implemented it as a temporary workaround to a problem while researching a "real" solution and discovered this was plenty "real" enough.

**What problems is MantisBT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MantisBT has solved a serious communication problem we were having between our Support and Development departments.  Support is now able to review existing bugs and log new ones on their own without trying to keep track of everything via email. Development is able to prioritize bugs as they come in, and all interested parties are notified whenever there are updates or resolution has been reached.

You can really define the tags that you want.

The backlog it can create is huge. We have over 10 years of bugs and it is hard to find the one that are still relevant. The search can have trouble when using multiple words.

This really helps the communication between the Application Engineers team and the development to store all information's about a particular bug at the same place. Benefits are improved communication between teams and better understanding of old issue through the search.
