I have been using Lumigo for 8 months now and it has been very useful in debugging, RCA, error alerts, overload alerts, etc. We have integrated Lumigo with Slack, and every time there's an error, Lumigo immediately alerts us on Slack along with a link for further information and debugging. You can find details of every Lambda transaction. Lumigo also alerts us about response time lags on Lambdas, even when Lambdas are back to normal state. The pictorial representation of APIs interacting with different AWS services gives a quick understanding of the service that has failed. The Lumigo dashboard gives an overall performance/informative view about our Lambda functions which is very helpful in understanding which Lambda needs attention and which is working as expected and more detailed information about each of the functions. The UI is user friendly, and it doesn't take much time to familiarise yourself with the application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Lumigo? 1. Sometimes the transaction doesn't immediately reflect in Lumigo, but it is very rare. 2. When clicked on an alerted link, and I'm not in a logged-in session in Lumigo, Lumigo redirects me to the login page, but it redirects to the home page instead of the link that I initially clicked on. To keep track of every lambda triggered from the production environment, most importantly the Lambdas that have triggered an error response. This allows us to tackle prod issues promptly and resolve them as and when they occur. Lumigo does this job for us effectively. Easy to use, the UI is straightforward, and Lumigo doesn't require additional code to onboard services. Great for observability across services with the ability to trace events between multiple functions. Errors are grouped by Functions/Error types which help tremendously sorting them out and reduce our overall debugging time. Performance metrics for internal services (AWS SDK) and external APIs are invaluable for improving our services. Customizable alerts helped us reduce our mean time to detect issues. We were lacking end-to-end observability between our multiple services, and it took time for our teams to detect issues, despite using Grafana/Kibana. Debugging took time, and Lumigo helped us in this regard. We also missed some key performance metrics for our SDK and APIs calls; now we have this info straight from the Lumigo dashboard. The best part is the invocations view. On CloudWatch, a bunch of lambda functions can write to the same log stream, and hence debugging a particular issue is very tedious. What do you dislike about Lumigo? The platform sometimes is slow and takes a while to load. Also, the number of integrations provided can be improved. Observability and alerting on errors are the biggest problems that Lumigo has helped us in. The almost real-time alerts to Slack have enabled in faster debugging, understanding, and fixing issues. Lumigo platform is straightforward to set up. With a wizard-like flow, you can quickly access all the logs, metrics, and alerts. I prefer Lumigo over X-Ray and Cloudwatch since it's easier and quicker; I can see from the dashboard the status of the services and start digging if there is any problem. Setting up an alert is easy too, I can configure what I want to monitor and how I should be alerted. I also found handy the service map and the possibility to add custom logs. With Lumigo I'm monitoring a whole Serverless infrastructure with three different deployment environments. I can see an error and what is causing it quickly from the dashboard or using queries. Since using Lumigo, we've been able to easily identify problems and misallocated resources. I no longer feel like I need to dig through CloudWatch logs in order to find the information I need to optimize our functions and keep the trains running. We've been using serverless functions for less than 2 years and our logging and monitoring was always bare minimum. Now, Lumigo has provided so many additional insights and troubleshooting tools. What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you? As any Lambda user knows, CloudWatch lumps together multiple invocations into single log streams. For particularly verbose functions, multiple invocations can easily turn into hundreds of lines of logs. Previously, I was using a custom Lambda function to send alerts of an invocation failure with a link to the CloudWatch log stream for debugging. It's amazing how much time I lost digging through those logs looking for trace which would help me solve the issue. What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you? Lumigo is a fantastic company that provides serverless monitoring and debugging cloud applications. We've just onboarded Lumigo at our organization and LOVE IT! The UI for Lumigo is very intuitive and provides all the critical information a developer/operation needs for debugging, monitoring, and tracing. We've compared Lumigo internally to New Relic, and it was hands down the clear winner. Just in the free trial period of Lumigo, we were able to identify, troubleshoot and resolve over four production issues faster than we ever were able to. The transactional view provided by Lumigo helps in not just visualizing the entire flow of the data but also helps in understanding the various data points and overall helps in improving the performance of our serverless applications. What do you dislike about Lumigo? Sometimes, the Lumigo platform is a tad slow, and the response/load times are more. The alerting configurations could further be improved with a lot more flexibility and control on various parameters. With Lumigo, we can get more insights into how the applications behave and give us greater flexibility in faster debugging and resolving the issues. Really easy to deploy - appears to be no monitoring overhead on the system, which I don't understand how that works, but it does (my guess is its a Kineses stream of some sort in another AWS account) The transaction tracing is really cool - I have a number of long-running step functions, and this automatically maps and times everything. The product team is hyper-focused on making sure you get the most out of the product. They provide a slack channel with the ability to interact directly with the team for help. The onboarding process is just seamless and quick. The self-service set-up is efficient and allows you to quickly see all of your Lambda's and how they interact with other services. I have read reviews about some things inside Lumigo being slow to load, which I think is crazy to mention if you're experienced with AWS.
