Performance, the speed is fantastic and out of the box LiteSpeed works a treat, which is great. It's a direct replacement for Apache which makes it super easy to install and configure alongside cPanel. So much so that we run LiteSpeed across our entire fleet, which covers over 100 servers, ranging from low spec machines to top spec ones. We also suggest and recommend LiteSpeed to many of our customers on a day to day basis to allow them to ensure their servers are performing optimally. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Caching - LiteSpeed cache is great... but it's immediate out of the box coverage for things like WordPress and Joomla isn't ideal. I'd prefer for it to have a WordPress mode for our novice customers, that'd make it much more user friendly for them and easier to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I personally use litespeed for both dedicated and VPS installs usually without any 3rd party interface like WHM.
The improvements in page load times and response times for the aps are great and I find it flexible enough even from a power user's perspective.
For Magento and WordPress it does wonders and switching to it was the best advice I could give to my clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Multi threading would be a plus if it would be included in the lower licenses because even on smaller VPSs these days there is enough room for at least two processes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've used LSWS for some time now, Litespeed Cache and Litemage are absolute game-changers, it's simple and easy to troubleshoot, and it also provides great metrics and troubleshooting help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish that there was an easier way to track LSPHP processes per user, but this isn't really a big problem, there isn't particularly much I have I dislike about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I am using litespeed for past 2 years. It handles more than double request on same server on which i was using apache.
I am hosting 1 Django website and 2 wordpress website on same $15 server. One of my website got 400k+ views per month and never feels downtime.
The Thing i like most is simple user interface provided by litespeed webserver. As a Web Developer, when i choose Apache or Nginx, i have to change the server configuration files manually. But with litespeed, we can simply configure the new website by web interface.
As i am also using wordpress on litespeed server. There is an official cache plugin called Litespeed Cache in WordPress repository.
This plugins has all the settings which includes in premium plugins like wp-rocket, and the fun part is it is free.
Static file handling of litespeed is best. It has inbuilt Gzip and Brotli compression which compressed the header size dynamically result in less response time.
Litespeed server supports http2 and http3/quic out of the box. Which allows us to send files concurrently. So that page load faster.
You can install latest version of PHP directly from dashboard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The guide to configure different frameworks are bit old and not too the point. It will be better to have a video guide to deploy Django, React and other web frameworks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. Drop-in Apache replacement.
2. High performance.
3. Better security.
4. 0% downtime switching from Apache.
5. Capability to handle higher traffic without affecting the server load or resources.
6. Easy Install and uninstall.
7. Compactible with control panels like cPanel.
8. Easy interface.
9. Lesser TTFB.
10. Built in DDOS protection.
11. Cache plugins available for variety of CMS
12. Top-notch performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. There's no real downside.
2. The free version is limited. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The way with which the developers constantly update and maintain the product, as well as fast responses to any technical queries.
The fact that it is free to use (openlitespeed) is an excellent proposition as well as it easily exceeds even the paid cPanel solution in terms of functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It feels somewhat clunky under the hood which means it does not inspire confidence when hosting 100+ websites. The team are working on this though and I do see improvement here in my 2 years usage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I used Litespeed from 2014-2017. Litespeed is definitely a cheaper option, but in all honesty if the funds are there, Toad would be my choice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Again, not all of the functionality of Toad, but definitely will get the job done for DBA. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I liked the heigh performance of the php execution. I liked the ESI cache feature for wordpress. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's no real downside. It's just much better than apache server. For the litespeed cache plugin for wordpress there's few bad things related to page optimization, js and css minification. And i would like to see ESI working with multitag shortcodes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The kind of features it offers and many of them are unique to Litespeed web server. Their HTTP2 accelerator is best in the industry, beating nginx in benchmarks way ahead with a big gap. So far, the Litespeed web server is the only one I know which supports QUIC. It is fully compatible with Apache, so I had no issues moving from Apache-based webserver to Litespeed. So far, I am tension free since the day I moved my sites from LAMP to Litespeed and it's fully compatible with Cloudflare too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So far, there's nothing which I have found which I may dislike. Litespeed community on slack is so supportive and it's a big help from them whenever I've faced any kind of issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the biggest challenges in the current era of the web is website speed, and Litespeed has just taken off the load from our heads on that.
With their Litespeed Cache Plugin available to mostly all popular CMS'es and unbeatable Webserver Architecture, we can provide speed to our users without compromising on security or functionality.
Best Part? It takes 15 minutes to deploy on a new or an existing server, No fuss. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I am not sure if I am able to figure out anything I dislike yet, It has been a god-send for us, if we get any bugs, they are solved promptly aswell. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Litespeed Web Server is the only web server we use for our web hosting services at Rackshare.com and PressHarbor.com. All of our servers run Litespeed for the ultimate in performance and scalability.
As a company, Litespeed is responsive and listens to their customers. We've been working with them for over a decade, and would never provision a web server without it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing not to like. If a paid license is not your thing, they even offer a free open source version called OpenLitespeed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Incredible fast loading speeds that provide a massive boost to very slow eCommerce platforms such as Magento 2. When cached I have yet to see any faster load times with other caching and server combinations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Would appreciate more control over what is and isn't cached / purged etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Its ease of installation, execution and maintenance is what we like too much.
Other web servers are relatively slow, more complex to maintain and LiteSpeed Web Server has helped us a lot in the process of running web applications on our servers, I definitely recommend it whenever I can :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
the LITESPEED plan WEB SERVER ENTERPRISE should include more applications or better support, they have a wide variety now but I feel there are not too many for the amount that is being paid, but from then on everything is correct Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It integrates with cPanel and is a much better replacement. It a true Enterprise solution with heaps of configurable options. You can make this speed horse do almost anything. It's changed the game for all of our clients, especially the caching mechanisms allowing for excellent concurrency and user experience. The support is also outstanding whenever an issue arises. They also take feedback very seriously, which has allowed us to obtain features we needed. Honestly, we don't see another solution offered that could be better at this point in time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's not much to dislike about the product because it's stability and performance is substantially better than anything else we've tried. However, the licensing is a little confusing at first as there are several options and add-ons you can benefit from. However, the sales team has simplified our licensing needs with a bit of back and forth communication. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We've been using Litespeed since 2007 and would not use any other web server software. The server is a drop in for apache and outperforms any other platform on the market, especially when factoring in cost. We're easily able to double or triple our capacity by using Litespeed at a cost of $42/month. Configuring, maintaining, and deploying a new server would cost roughly $300. It's a no-brainer. Not to mention the performance and security benefits of the software. The best part for us is it's compatible with cPanel/CloudLinux with zero changes needed. Their support is cutting edge and available 24/7. Whenever we have an issue it's resolved in hours. They're always looking for feedback and quickly make requested product changes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
LiteSpeed is able to meet all our needs and thus we do not have any "dislikes.' The only area of improvement is configuration management (i.e. making it easier to configure components). The company consistently improves on this each day, and is always available to answer any questions customers may have. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Litespeed web server has severely increased the speed of all the Wordpress and other CMS sites hosted on our servers and while doing so it even reduced overall load on our servers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing at this stage, I am honestly very happy with this product and excited to see what they bring out next Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
LiteSpeed is such a beautiful product for enterprise-grade hosting. It is absolutely powerful, runs fast, helped us decrease costs, improve security. Best of all it is easy-to-use and compatible with Apache/htaccess and popular server control panels out there (like WHM/cPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin, and many others).
I've used LiteSpeed for 10 years now alongside NGINX and Apache and feel it is the easiest to use, most reliable, and also easy to get support for. Their small but dedicated team is on top of all the latest trends and issues. Problems are solved quickly and I love being part of their community. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dislike that they're are still closed-minded admins in the server world refusing to try out LiteSpeed (because it isn't free and open-source)...and LiteSpeed DOES have a free community version (OpenLiteSpeed). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As a shared hosting provider, we always want to offer stable, fast and scalable solutions, it's often hard to get all 3 right without adding additional complexity or lacking features.
However, the LiteSpeed Web Server manages to solve all 3, in a simple and efficient way.
It solved scalability problems with its event-driven engine and their LSCache with ESI caching support, the compatibility by supporting .htaccess and mod_rewrite rules, and the security by having an awesome implementation of ModSecurity rules.
Additionally, it supports graceful restarts that are actually graceful! And best of all, they do the uttermost to support the latest technologies such as QUIC, TLSv1.3, and HTTP/2.
I couldn't be happier! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's nothing about LiteSpeed Web Server I dislike.
If I have to mention something, but then again it's not really bad: They update software and plugins so fast with new features, that it's hard to keep up sometimes ;) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the efficiency and fluidity with which Lite Speed Web Server goes. I also like your dashboard, it's quite simple and it does not get complicated as much as other services that I previously hired. For that and other reasons I give a score of 9 out of 10. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I dislike is that the dashboard sometimes does not work well in unknown browsers. But in Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox the dashboard is perfect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that this platform accelerates my web pages to such an extent that it has improved by 45% of its performance, and that for me is enough to choose it as one of the best platforms that improve the acceleration of all types of websites. To summarize, the traffic on my web pages has improved in speed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What can displease me is that the support itself is somewhat delayed, but neither is nothing that can affect me, because although it is not instantaneous as I wish, in any case they answer me and give me a very good assistance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Litespeed team is zealous about producing the best product in their class. I love how open they are with their clients and that they take in every suggestion because they're hungry for improvement. When they grab on to a good idea, you usually see something in production within days or weeks, not months or years like other products. What I love best is that when I need to provide the best solution for my clients, they take their role in that seriously and won't settle for second place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Price is always the main objection, not that the price is too high but there there is a price at all. The amount doesn't really matter.
This isn't really a fault of Litespeed at all. The web hosting industry is packed with "free", open source, software so it can be difficult to get somebody to try out a paid solution.
Litespeed has actually made this much easier with their updated license options, a two week free trial license (you normally see the benefits within minutes anyway), and their open source web server project. This is actually another example of them putting their customers' needs first.
Documentation within the product itself could be better, but they've made great strides in providing wiki tutorials, blog guides and easy access to the developers through their public Slack channel. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It allows conserving resources without sacrificing performance, security, compatibility or comfort.
We will obtain greater maximum capacity and eliminate the need for a third-party caching layer that speeds up navigation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I knew the product by recommendation I would like to have more diffusion of the company, more publicity because the solution they give is different in a positive sense. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is not necessary to sacrifice performance, security and compatibility resources.
Being safe against WAF and DDoS attacks is now possible at the best market price. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would like it to have a more ordered and better classified interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
