I've been an Akamai CC user since it was still Linode, at the time I used it to deploy Rails applications using capistrano to VPSs, I was a beginner back then and I got a lot of support from Linode representatives whom helped me set up different services, including an email server. I've always been very satisfied with the service, and I've always keept a few VPSs for my personal use or for client work. Since a couple of years I started using Nix for managing my dev environments, after shopping for server providers with support for NixOS, I was very happy to discover a guide for installing NixOS on ACC, the guide was very well written and I was able to follow without a hitch, consequently I have no reason to switch providers. The "clean" redesign on all white and content restructuring (guides, resources, pricing) has made me feel a tad disoriented, but I have been able to find my way. I find the dashboard very clear though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It makes the management of cloud infrastructure very easy. For developers looking to manage some cloud features without having to master them, this is the platform for you. How quick and easy it was to get a new server spun up. I also did like that their customer service was quick to enable sending emails even though I submitted the support ticket on a Sunday night. I didn't really like that it by default blocks email sending as I had to have transactional emails with my app so I wasn't able to finish setting up that part during the time I had set aside to get my new instance up and running. I really like the versatility of Akamai Cloud Computing. It has a wide variety of products that are quite useful for people who make use of the Cloud Community. I really enjoy using the tools it provides, especially the Linux ones, as they are very useful for my work. Additionally, I can create several virtual servers in a single account, which provides me with a lot of ease for my work when multiple servers are required. These virtual servers are of good quality. I also appreciate that the initial setup is quite simple, taking only about 3 minutes if you already have experience with cloud configurations. It is quite intuitive and works well. I have needed a virtual server with the Windows operating system, but Akamai Cloud Computing does not provide that type of service. They provide Linux, Ubuntu, or other operating systems, but on some occasions, I have required Windows. A very good improvement would be to implement Windows for people who need it. I use Akamai Cloud Computing to host my websites using their Linode virtual machines. It solves a lot of complex issues I have run into with managing my own hardware. The interface is very useful, quick, and easy to navigate, which is not something you typically get out of the box with your own machines. I enjoy how easy it is to use, and the platform solves a lot of pain points with its UI, bringing me a great experience overall. Their firewall configuration is very nice, especially when combined with Cloudflare to gate access. It's a very useful tool that lets me restrict access to my open ports directly, requiring that public access goes through Cloudflare first, which allows me to set up bot protection. It would be nice to have some cheaper options for hobby projects such as my own. Generally, the price is okay, however, it would be nice to be able to create Linodes with more fine-grained specs, such as being able to specify the storage, RAM, etc., and generate a price based on that. Akamai Cloud has been absolutely critical to my growing hosting and design business. It allowed me to start with very affordable infrastructure with top-notch customer support, and grow into larger and more powerful products as my business grows. The scalability and expandability of this cloud service is second to none!

Its hard to find a downside to the product, but I am a little bit disappointed that some features, including Object Storage and VPC are not available in the Toronto region (the only Canadian region). the cost is the best part. I runner full private radio station, n8n automation, wordpress website, private VPN with an exit node running through it and a bunch of other programs in docker and with my object storage bucket that holds up to 5tb. I pay third of what a webserver cost just to run wordpress. When relaunching from a backup is super fast. Im a noob at networking and they have a lot of videos to help you out. I love that I can do anything I need in their control panel, and I find their support exceptional, always ready to help and pleasant to talk to. I appreciate their reasonable prices and how the secondary DNS feature is extremely helpful, allowing me to host my own zone files and provide them to their DNS service. It just works, and doesn't get in my way, plus setting up was pretty easy. A VPS can be started basically in one click, and setting up DNS zones was straightforward as well. I like the affordable pricing of the VMs and egresses in Akamai Cloud Computing. The simple dashboard is also something I appreciate. Moving from big cloud providers like GCP and AWS to Akamai was an easy choice for me due to its cost-effectiveness, especially with cheap instances available in the Australian region, which even some of the other cheap providers don't offer. I think there are no compute optimized instances in those regions, and I would love to have that. In the dashboard, the CPU shows the highest users, but I would love to see the average users of the CPU in the dashboard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I find it very simple to order a Linode and set it up with Akamai Cloud Computing. The ability to SSH into the VPS is a great convenience for me. The pricing is the best among all the other cloud providers I've encountered, making it very affordable with most cool configurations. The dashboard is clean and easy to navigate, which makes it straightforward for me to find the services I'm looking for and understand the billing structure.
