It's costly, and you have to pay a lot for a support ninja to help you. If you're a small company, it can run up your bill fast. It is meant for larger organizations, and depending on the level of complexity, a lot of the same integrations could be acquired for free now within the Google Data Studio if you are hoping to utilize this simply for marketing. The fact that licensing is not user-based is exactly what we needed to start our company getting excited about viewing and using data. **What do you dislike about Klipfolio?** Chart creation, especially timeline based charts are a chore and require quasi programming knowledge. I really wish reference lines, trend lines, and simple narrative or annotation points were allowed within bar and line charts. I've figured out trend line creation but it requires 4-5 lines of pretty complicated function use. Klipfolio is the best-of-breed dashboarding solution I've used. Its large number of SaaS data connectors makes weaving together metrics from a several disparate systems a breeze. There hasn't been a dataset that I've not been able to inject into Klipfolio thru the use of their ETL and querying capacity. This includes my own company (Cobomba.com) databases in addition to typical SaaS products like Google AdWords and Analytics, eCommerce tools, etc... **What do you dislike about Klipfolio?** I would prefer that the metrics data refresh automatically each day without having to pay an additional fee for that feature. Need some understanding of APIs to get reports automated **Recommendations to others considering Klipfolio:** If you are doing it in-house, plan on spending a good amount of time up-front for training and implementation purposes. I manage Klipfolio for my entire company and, while I like the features that it has, I've spent a good amount of time training myself on the language that Klipfolio uses to generate its reports. I mainly use the Google Drive integration, and have to update data through spreadsheets in order to show the results in Klipfolio. This has been fine for the time being, though I would like to use more of the API features to better automate this process. Having someone on your team that can use APIs would be super beneficial, otherwise plan on doing a lot of manual updating and training yourself. **What problems is Klipfolio solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are using Klipfolio to combine multiple sources of data together for reporting purposes: customer info from Hubspot, payment and subscription info from Recurly, production info from our SaaS system. Through Klipfolio we have better explored how different systems related together to the customer experience. The learning curve was fairly easy, you don't need to know anything about coding, I have just a basic understanding of APIs and KPIs. If you get stuck they will provide as much help as needed, they have a Ninja service which is like having a professional coder in your back pocket and they also do a free onboarding as well to show you just how powerful their software service can be. There's really nothing to dislike at all about them, the quality of their product or their excellent customer service. **Recommendations to others considering Klipfolio:** Highly recommend their service, We tried both Klipfolio and Geckoboards for their trial and Klipfolio was by far the winner, they integrate with way more 3rd parties and they have more templates available so you can have many API integrations with great visuals up and running in an hour of time. If you are on the fence I would recommend just opening up a trial with them, we our glad that we went with them over any of the other options **What problems is Klipfolio solving and how is that benefiting you?** We see all our vital data right there on our screens at all times, our teams work more cohesively together now, our sales are up, office morale is now more like a game between our sales teams to get their numbers up higher than the others, we can better forecast issues by seeing visually what's going on between many different platforms without the need to log into any of them. ### 40. I really also like how I can track certain statistics through power metrics. The ability to create multiple dashboards is really nice, and I like how we can customize the appearance as well. I'm personally a huge fan of the dark mode, I think it make the numbers pop out more. Overall, the way that manipulating data works when building klips is very robust. I have some issues that I'll address in the dislike system, but those aren't super important. There are a ton of excel-like functions that let you pull data from sets/tables and then use that data for further analysis. In addition, there is a large library of prebuilt klips if you're looking for a quick way to get started. You click "Add Klip" and then just connect your data source, and you're good to go. **What do you dislike about Klipfolio?** My biggest dislike, which isn't necessarily the fault of Klipfolio, is how different each data source is. I get that it has to rely on APIs from other services, and those aren't going to be built the same, but it makes it hard to combine data from different sources. While it's not the fault of Klipfolio, it's still an issue I run into while working with the software. **Recommendations to others considering Klipfolio:** I would just say that you need to, at some level, understand how working with data and APIs works.
