What do you like best about Kepware Server?

What I like most about KEPServerEX is its extensive library of industrial communication drivers and its ability to provide reliable, standardized connectivity between a wide range of automation devices and enterprise applications. Its centralized configuration, scalability, and OPC support make it easier to integrate heterogeneous industrial environments while reducing development and maintenance effort. What do you dislike about Kepware Server?

The licensing structure and initial setup can feel somewhat complex, particularly for organizations that need to manage multiple drivers, devices, and communication channels. Troubleshooting more advanced connectivity issues may also require specialized technical expertise. What problems is Kepware Server solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use KEPServerEX as the industrial connectivity layer in our TrakSYS MES projects. It enables reliable communication with PLCs and other automation devices from different manufacturers, standardizing shop-floor data before making it available to the MES platform. This reduces the complexity of integrating heterogeneous automation environments, shortens implementation time, and minimizes the need to develop and maintain custom interfaces. "PTC KEPServerEX: Must have OPC for Industry 4.0"

What do you like best about Kepware Server?

PTC Kepware KEPServerEX provides an easy way to configure tags. Also, it is so easy to integrate with PTC Thingworx and fetch data from plant floors. It supports around 160 industry-standard protocols, including Allen-Bradly, BACnet, MQTT, and more. Even if you don't have PLCs, you can simulate tags and their data. It has hundreds of built-in simulation functions too. The best part is its help section. There they have explained everything in a good way. Suppose if you don't know what a particular simulation function is doing, in the help section you can get it easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kepware Server?

Kepware KEPServerEX is an awesome OPC. But still, it has some limitations. Here the maximum number of channels is limited. But you can have unlimited tags. It depends on the driver. For example, Allen-Bradly can have a maximum of 256 channels and BACnet can have 100 only. Another thing I wouldn't say I like is its price. Previously I have used KEPServerEX with an MES application, there we have paid and I felt that is fine. But while we are using it with PTC Thingworx, that time also we have to pay for it. What problems is Kepware Server solving and how is that benefiting you?

Currently, I am working in the Industrial Automation sector. Here we use this tool a lot. KEPServerEX helps to get raw data/sensor data from the plant floor in real-time. So we can monitor our plants, create dashboards, analyze the data out of it. We have multiple different devices with different protocols.
