## About Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response
Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response is an expert-led service offering round-the clock monitoring, detection, investigation and a rapid response to sophisticated cyberattacks — augmenting existing security controls with human-led detection and global threat intelligence. The service immediately strengthens IT and OT security posture, regardless of your organization’s size or industry. Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response provides customers with a lack of IT security expertise a turnkey solution for customers with limited in-house IT and OT security expertise, and gives experienced teams the flexibility to delegate 24/7 monitoring, incident detection and alert triage to Kaspersky experts. Kaspersky MDR capabilities can be characterized in 3 pillars: Continuous protection against advanced threats from day one. Kaspersky MDR activates in minutes with no additional infrastructure required, using our SOC analysts and threat intelligence to deliver multi-layered detection across multiple domains. Informed by billions of telemetry signals, it enables proactive threat hunting, root-cause investigation, and full, rapid remediation — protecting against known and zero-day threats from day one. Security operations led by experts, enhanced by intelligence. With Kaspersky MDR, your security operations are managed by global experts with deep frontline experience and industry-leading certifications. Their work is amplified by market-leading Threat Intelligence and AI mechanisms embedded in the service, helping enrich every alert, accelerate detection and reduce Mean Time to Respond (MTTR). Operational efficiency and cost predictability. • Kaspersky MDR eliminates the complexity and cost of building an in‑house SOC from scratch — a process that can drain your budget and delay meaningful security improvements for months or even years. • If you already have your own SOC, the service takes on the burden of 24/7 monitoring, alert triage and incident classification, freeing your analysts to focus on higher-value, strategic work.

  ### 2. Kaspersky MDR: Pros and Cons of the Comprehensive Cybersecurity Solution

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Junaid K. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response?**

Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response (MDR) offers several impressive features, but the best one is probably its use of artificial intelligence and machine learning for threat detection and analysis.

Kaspersky MDR leverages AI and ML algorithms to analyze vast amounts of data in real-time, detecting anomalies and potential security incidents faster and more accurately than traditional methods. The solution uses a combination of signature-based and behavior-based detection techniques, providing a more comprehensive approach to threat detection.

The use of AI and machine learning also allows Kaspersky MDR to provide proactive threat hunting capabilities. It can identify patterns and trends in data that may indicate a potential threat, even before an attack has occurred. This can help organizations stay ahead of cybercriminals and protect their assets before an attack takes place.

Overall, Kaspersky MDR's use of AI and machine learning is a significant advantage in today's threat landscape. It helps organizations to detect and respond to cyber threats quickly and accurately, enabling them to mitigate potential damage and keep their systems secure.

**What do you dislike about Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response?**

While Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response (MDR) has many impressive features, there are some potential drawbacks to consider:

Cost: Kaspersky MDR is a premium security solution and may be expensive for some organizations. The cost can vary depending on the size of the organization, the level of service required, and the length of the contract.

Integration: Kaspersky MDR may not integrate seamlessly with all existing security tools and systems. This could require additional configuration and potentially cause delays or disruptions during implementation.

Privacy concerns: Kaspersky has faced controversy in the past due to allegations of inappropriate ties to the Russian government. While Kaspersky has denied these allegations, some organizations may be hesitant to use a security solution from a company with these concerns.

Limited customization: While Kaspersky MDR does offer a high level of customization for security policies, some organizations may find that the platform does not provide enough flexibility for their unique needs.

Resource requirements: Kaspersky MDR requires a significant amount of resources, including processing power, memory, and storage. Smaller organizations may struggle to allocate the necessary resources to implement and maintain the solution.

Overall, while Kaspersky MDR offers a range of powerful features, it may not be the best fit for every organization due to cost, integration, privacy concerns, limited customization, and resource requirements. It's important to carefully consider these factors when evaluating whether Kaspersky MDR is the right security solution for your organization.

  ### 3. Used Kaspersky for 5 Years. Zero Incidents

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael D. C. | Creative Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response?**

Kaspersky does with it promises. Keeps your infrastructure safe from intrusion. AND it is Mac compatible. I am a one-person show when it comes to marketing and design, but I also am the IT Admin, and have access to and manage dozens of endpoints and servers. My computer MUST be protected. I am using a different tool now, but I recommend Kaspersky.

**What do you dislike about Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response?**

Nothing to dislike. It was affordable, and when using it, I never had an issue with data intrusion, viruses, or anything malicious. It caught everything. If it had been bundled with my current MMA, I would be using it now.

**What problems is Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping my Mac clean from virus and intrusion was most important. I manage and maintain a large amount of data, basically a server of all creative files on a local drive. It's backed up regularly, but it is not separated from my operating system. It must be protected or I may lose valuable information.

  ### 4. One of the leading and scalable Managed security solutions

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bilal A. | Senior Associate Security Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response?**

It is Scalable and provides real time threat visibility into entire enterprise IT infrastructure so giving time to dig down for proactive threat hunting aided by Kaspersky's proprietary Threat intelligence feeds.

**What do you dislike about Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response?**

As Kaspersky MDR stack intensively uses Machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms to devlop baselines for analysing user and process behaviour so in initial stages of deployment results will be noisy , but that is not exclusive to Kaspersky as there is time requirement for esteblishing baselines using various learning models to detect abnormal behaviour pertainng to security threats.

**What problems is Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Monitoring eneterprise systems and using its propreitary algorithms and threat intelligence to check proactively for security threats and mitigating those threats in a timely manner to keep client businesses running along with analyst support in case there is requirement of triage and manual analysis.

  ### 6. It's better to be careful, than to cure

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Boyna F. | Information Technology Infrastructure Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response?**

a centralized system, where with this feature all computers that have the Kaspersky application installed can be monitored, and get updates at any time, so there is less chance of being contaminated with viruses

**What do you dislike about Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response?**

I don't like it when the process of using memory and processor on Kaspersky is quite high, which makes the computer slow and heavy

**What problems is Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response solving and how is that benefiting you?**

the detection of a virus that we can immediately follow up on, such as whether we will quarantine, or immediately delete it, or also return it, because it is only the application that we use that is recognized and considered a virus

  ### 7. My experience with Kaspersky Managed Detection & Response

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carlos D. | Customer Success Executive, Consulting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response?**

I like that it has minimal false detections, and adapts to your everyday use by reducing notifications. Also it drains very little resources thus causing less headache when it comes to performance.

**What do you dislike about Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response?**

Very hard to uninstall if needed, usually leaves a lot of traces in the registry, and older versions can corrupt the OS if not removed thru their own Uninstaller. As far as usage, it is quite large to download and takes a while to install. Scans take forever on a normal disk, but on SSD it's quick.

**What problems is Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is preventing viruses and other nasty stuff from infecting my systems. It is very effective and efficient. Also helps keeps performance consistent with minimal unneeded notifications.

  ### 8. Well around protection but hwavy on resource.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bikash Y. | System And Network Engineer , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response?**

Easy and advanced management console.
Good real-time protection.
Easy deployment with different methods.
Scanning of devices in the network.
It can work well with active directories.

**What do you dislike about Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response?**

It is pretty heavy on systems and can be seen in systems with low resources, but systems with good enough hardware won't notice it; step learning phase and a lot of minor significant settings.

**What problems is Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We deployed this product for our enterprise security from an employee point of view as endpoint security. It provides the cause and source of the attacker or virus.

  ### 9. Kasperky MDR

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam C. | Systems Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response?**

**What do you dislike about Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response?**

Some of the prompts could be annoying to the end user.

**What problems is Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response solving and how is that benefiting you?**

These days you almost NEED a platform like this; it's no longer optional. This was a good combination of protection, management, and cost.

  ### 14. Excellent detection and detailed guided response

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chandrika P. | Medical Technologist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response?**

What I like the most about this antivirus software is how specific and detailed it is when it comes to detecting threats. As a researcher in the medical field, it has been very flexible and efficient for my organization and me to carry out highly sensitive data without any disruptions caused. I like that the automated and guided response feature developed by Kaspersky enables complete control for me over any cyber-attacks it detects. This has saved me a lot of time where I don't have to look for experts or professionals to secure any system breaches. The fact that I don't have to have a physical place for managing threat attacks and having a successful digital medium such as this is incredible. So far, it's the best enterprise-targeted antivirus software that I've come across over the years. Another feature that has been an effective service is the advanced protection technology, where it scans and filters out any uninvited threats. This has enabled our organization to have less machinery and software repairing to be done, which has saved a lot of time and cost that would otherwise have gone into fixing the small number of equipment we hold.

**What do you dislike about Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response?**

As much as I like this service, there's not much that I dislike about this software. But the one fact that is quite uncomfortable is that you can get the most out of it by updating to the premium plan, which is very much costly. The advertisements tempting the users to upgrade are sometimes distracting. I would prefer to have less ads or prompts asking the users to upgrade. Nevertheless, it is doing very well in terms of the field of subjects that I handle at my organization as a medical research institute. So far, it has been an ideal point of success towards our organizational threat detecting plus responding software.

**Recommendations to others considering Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response:**

I'm glad to have the reassurance of knowing that there's a highly developed security system that detects even the most innovative external threats. I highly recommend Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response as one of the best I've used over the years within our medical research institute. It's proven to be outstanding in performance and is designed to filter out any malicious programs specifically. I absolutely love this software.

**What problems is Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the main problems we face every day is keeping the health, research, and patient information safe from hackers and other malicious attempts to obtain these records. This is an ongoing issue with newer, more dangerous emerging every day. This problem was, for the most part, solved by Kaspersky Managed detection and response. Another problem we had was to train the employees and users on how to act when they find information that there has been a hack or phishing attempt. Kaspersky also solved this Managed detection and response since it details out specifically on the response to a detected threat removing the ambiguity surrounding the steps that the user needs to take.
