I really love where we're at with Karbon right now. It does exactly what I need it to do, and it's amazing how they've taken everything people have been asking for and put it into the platform. There are a few small things I'd like improved, like not being able to add the tax year automatically and having to change it manually each time, which is a big deal for me. I've also run into some odd bugs with engagements not sending, especially with one client, and sometimes the placeholders don't show up in the preview. Karbon helps us tremendously with workflow management. The project workflow helps me track project details, status and automatically moves from one task to the next as each task is finished. I like how everything is linked together, so I can go from a project to client details, the communication thread, and billing. It’s very easy to navigate. I use the Work section a lot because it shows my open projects and tasks in an easy-to-grasp view by date, with the details right there. I sometimes find it difficult to create the views I want, though they work very well once I get them set up. For time entry, I have to click a suggested answer to accept it before moving to the next field; I’d like to be able to tab to the next field and have the answer accepted. The UI is quite good overall. The triage function is particularly helpful, and the My Week section comes in very handy as well. Being able to tick off tasks also works as a solid checklist and makes it easy to keep track of what I’ve done.

I love how easy Karbon is to use and its accessibility features. It’s more user-friendly than what we used before, especially for time entry, client management, email management, and assigning tasks. We need an INTERNAL field that appears on the Account, Individual, and across ALL work items for statuses like “ON HOLD” (usually because payment is needed), so all employees can see it but the client cannot. We use several tags like this, including ON HOLD, NON-TECH, PRE-PAY, etc.

I also dislike that, in the Client Request section, there is still no formatting toolbar. We have been requesting this for 3 years. It’s important to be able to use bullets and basic formatting like bold and underline when messaging clients.

Another frustration is when a client is filing multiple years: we can’t “group/paperclip” the work tickets together so we can start with the earliest year and move forward in order. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
