## JointJS Reviews
  ### 1. Great Interactive Flow Charts

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Devices | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2025

**What do you like best about JointJS?**

The interactive flow charts have significantly increased the usability of our technology. Very easy to use.

**What do you dislike about JointJS?**

There is some difficulty when you initially start using the flow charts. It's not as intuitive at the beginning.

**What problems is JointJS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been looking for a way to integrate flow charts easily into our system and Joint JS gives us that solution.

  ### 2. JointJS is a convenient, functional, powerful library.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Viktor S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2024

**What do you like best about JointJS?**

Great for web. It is easy to build into an application, both with npm/webpack and manually. It has backbone and jquery under the hood, which partly simplifies the introduction.
The library supports the creation and management of both basic and interactive diagrams, and supports serialization and deserialization with a single command. It is very convenient that all the work is done with models, which, after creation, are “magically” transformed into a diagram on the page.
We are pleased with the large number of examples from which you can draw ideas for solving your problems. Previously, we used separate developments to export to JPG/PNG, but now this is also done with one command.
And finally, I would like to separately mention the documentation, which guides a novice developer from explaining the basics to implementing complex examples. In our case, we are glad that we received a cool product and vendor support.

**What do you dislike about JointJS?**

Nothing to mention so far. It costs something but I would say it is worth paying.

**What problems is JointJS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Diagramming of logical/transport/physical relations within complex digital systems.

**Reviewed by:** Valentin E. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2023

**What do you like best about JointJS?**

We use JointJS+ in very different ways. JointJS+ does not only provide extensive tools and a robust API for "simple" diagram views, but also for tools like SVG-based drawing tools and complex node-relating tools.
JointJS+ offers many options for customizing basic and more complex aspects of the tools we develop. Additionally it provides many components that makes the usability of interacting with the created diagrams and tools better.
The Event- and Function based API is very easy to use as a developer. We especially appreciate the large number of useful events emitted by the API, which makes it very easy to react to user input.
What also really helps during development are the many demos provided by JointJS+ and also the Code provided along with them.

**What do you dislike about JointJS?**

Although the documentation is extensive, the overall style of the documentation is a bit hard to get used to. Also some more specific or "deep going" functionalities are not documented so well. The code is mostly well written though, which makes it easy to extract missing information of the documentation from the code instead.

**What problems is JointJS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We especially appreciate the large number of useful events emitted by the API, which makes it very easy to react to user input.

**What do you like best about JointJS?**

JointJS has shortened our time to market mostly thanks to a lot of functionality that would require extensive coding efforts being built into the library already. Exploring these features and providing implementation time estimates was eased by the amount of examples provided. Missing capabilities were easy to add through JointJS' extensibility. All in all it was a pleasant experience.

**What do you dislike about JointJS?**

JointJS only provides extensibility beyond the given API in the new Enterprise plan they've just announced.

**What problems is JointJS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick implementation of diagrams leveraging pre-built examples.

**What do you like best about JointJS?**

It felt like the biggest break through for me after being stuck with using svg.js for a while, where I had to invent everything on my own.
With JointJS I can use prebuilt components (love arrows!) and focus on my creativity instead of inventing the building blocks.

**What do you dislike about JointJS?**

Well, quite a few examples are in TypeScript and I'm not a fan. Prefer the usual - JavaScript.
But I've figured out the way how to read them and implement what I need in JS.

**What problems is JointJS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I invented my own graphical programming language to describe business processes, using basic svg.js. With JointJS I am able to make it more beautiful, better extendible and mobile friendly.

**What problems is JointJS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it to create planning visuals with data visualization and flowcharts.

JointJS+ is a big time saver. It has almost everything i need

**What do you dislike about JointJS?**

For me i personally i found only one thing:
- TypeScript typing for the open source version of JointJS is not entirely correct, and some classes and interfaces are not fully updated

**What problems is JointJS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Saved a lot of time to build a big and complex flow-like diagram for my plugins in two IDEs.
