## About Jitsu
Jitsu is an open-source customer data platform that collects events from websites, mobile apps and servers and delivers them to data warehouses, analytics tools and marketing destinations in real time. It is MIT-licensed and can be self-hosted, run as a managed cloud service, or deployed as a dedicated single-tenant private cloud. Jitsu's JavaScript integration is fully compatible with the Segment API, so existing analytics.js tracking calls work against Jitsu without any frontend code changes, and teams can run Jitsu alongside their current pipeline before committing to a migration. Events are delivered to the warehouse continuously rather than on a batch schedule, and a ClickHouse destination is included at no cost so teams can query their event data without standing up separate infrastructure. Data can be transformed, enriched and filtered in flight using JavaScript functions, which teams use to strip PII before it reaches a destination, enrich events from third-party APIs, or drop events they do not want to store. Billing is based on events delivered to a destination rather than on monthly tracked users, starting at 200,000 events per month free.
