We’ve been using IA for over a year now, and I’ve found that they’re genuinely open to feedback and willing to make adjustments when needed. I would like to have up-to-date reporting capabilities for student identity verification results. Currently, the service provides only a monthly report on licenses consumed, which lacks vital information regarding whether a student's identification was accepted. I like that there is lots of support from the staff. The setup was a bit complicated, but they were there every step of the process. I really like that Integrity Advocate integrates directly into the Brightspace LMS, which makes it seamless to use without charging students an additional fee for the proctoring service. The single sign-on experience is great, and it's easy for both students and administrators to use. The flag review process is straightforward and helps us efficiently review exam flags and potential violations. We find the reviewers to be inconsistent with their flags. Some reviewers will flag for looking off screen multiple times, while others miss flagging things like use of a cell phone or other individuals in the room. We also often find that one image with the flag is not enough to verify if a violation occurred. If a learner is looking off screen for a short period, that is not enough evidence for us to suggest to them that they completed the exam dishonestly. I think it would be beneficial for Integrity Advocate to record and review audio, not just video. Lastly, having the view of a student's face alone does not give us a lot of confidence in the integrity of the exam. It would be very easy for the learner to have a resource out of the view of the camera. We did feel that the onboarding process was insufficient. We did not benefit from having someone at Integrity Advocate talk us through the various rules and violation levels, so we had to work that out over time. The platform is very easy to use, and I really liked how detailed the interface is. The screenshots and the way violations were explained made everything very clear. One thing I find a bit limiting about Integrity Advocate is that it doesn’t send notifications for potential rule violations after an attempt has been overridden. Receiving these alerts would be helpful, as clinicians may behave differently if they try again, and it would provide a more complete view of their behavior. Integrity Advocate integrates seamlessly within D2L Brightspace, with no scheduling needed and very little maintenance. Instructors can easily review flags and monitor exam validity. Rules for each exam can be tailored specific to the course needs. The regular checkins and data reviews IA provides is also helpful in ensuring the best possible expereince for students.
