**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gustavo O. | Air Quality Scientist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2023

**What do you like best about InfluxDB?**

I like the ease of setup. The large number of tutorials and knowledge articles make setting up an instance relatively easy. It was my first time venturing with InfluxDB, and in a couple of hours, I had an instance running and integrated with my IoT project without much trouble.

**What do you dislike about InfluxDB?**

The dashboards, although useful, are somewhat restrictive in how they can be shared. The typical scenario that I have is to be able to share a live dashboard outside my organisation, be that an auto-updated static image or a "limited functionality" dashboard.

**What problems is InfluxDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have data coming from several devices based on Homeassistant that are easily integrated with InfluxDB and I need to be able to handle each time series as well as merge them for analysis using R.

  ### 9. One of the most complete timeseries database solution.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joao Pedro D. | Invited Assistant Professor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2023

**What do you like best about InfluxDB?**

Easiness to use (query, filter, and process) is one of the key points. The built-in data explorer, dashboard building capabilities, and alerts mechanisms make it a one-stop solution to provide meaningful information from large amounts of data at an high velocity. The built-in REST API also makes wonders to quickly integrate with other solutions.

**What do you dislike about InfluxDB?**

The need to learn a specific query language can be considered a downside. The lack of SQL-like query mechanism also makes it harder to adopt by teams that are used to SQL technologies.

**What problems is InfluxDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Storing and analysis large bulks of data coming from large deploy of IoT devices (sensors). Also been using it to store measurements of on-prem infrastructure, creating alerts that trigger when some issue arises.

  ### 10. A light but powerful db for many IoT applications

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2022

**What do you like best about InfluxDB?**

InfluxDB is able to scale elastically with its ability to utilize sophisticated operations such as pipe forwarders to send one function’s output into that of another with the ability to tag values in a function. In addition,InfluxDB is utilized currently for the monitoring of time series data, forecasting, creating of alert rules, and API development with a focus on monitoring infrastructure networks, and in tying some of the issues around data reconciliation to billing as in the case of a typical monitoring enterprise tool.

**What do you dislike about InfluxDB?**

InfluxDB to have more documentation alongside with Splunk would be great, but it is not a must have. InfluxDB is a powerful solution and I do not have any thing that I dislike.

**What problems is InfluxDB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

InfluxDB also allows us to focus on for checks to be performed on the data, either through the use of a threshold or deadman check, when it comes to a specified criteria of having a status applied to each data point. This query is then configured based on the bucket value, measurement field, and tag sets.
