In the sense, presentations that should not impress. It is a pity that it is the name of the program that fails in its use. But the upside is that you can easily install it on any computer and you can create files that are compatible with other viewers as well. **What do you dislike about Impress?** I don't like that there aren't so many preset templates you can use. Setting the page, or where to change the size of the slides, is not easy to find. Every time I spend time searching for the command. **What problems is Impress solving and how is that benefiting you?** The problem I solved recently using Impress was to create a very simple presentation in its contents. I didn't have to create any graphic effects, so it responded to my needs. ### 4. We keep track of every current order's status religiously using it and are able to see what people ordered for their past orders as well. When I started at the company, I found it didn't take me very long at all to get used to it. **What do you dislike about Impress?** The program looks somewhat outdated, and sometimes it runs slow, and there isn't a lot of online support if you run into issues, but beyond that, I don't have any issues. It does what it is programmed to do. **Recommendations to others considering Impress:** Impress is great at what it does and anyone thinking about getting into screen printing should look into using it. **What problems is Impress solving and how is that benefiting you?** We don't solve problems with Impress so much as rely on it completely to keep track of our current orders. We have Impress set up so that we can scan bar codes on work orders and have their status automatically update, which is a really nice and convenient feature. ### 5. The advantage is that it also allows opening presentations created with other programs. **What do you dislike about Impress?** I don't like that you can't give graphic attributes to make the presentation attractive. They have a very retro look. In fact, by inserting those boxes, the program automatically gives the possibility to insert images, tables, text, videos, or charts. **What do you dislike about Impress?** When I copy and paste tables created in OpenOffice Calc, sometimes it doesn't import the formatting, so I have to edit part of the chart. **What problems is Impress solving and how is that benefiting you?** I can create simple and effective presentations to talk about my projects. ### 7. The rare updates that do get released cause the program to lag/crash. As part of the open office suite it is a great alternative to other presentation softwares that can cost much more. It also is very familiar and is very intuitive **What do you dislike about Impress?** The biggest draw back is that with installing the application because it is a free application you have to be care or you will end up installing unwanted applications and or browser add-ons /extensions that can be extremely difficult to uninstall. Also in install just impress is not possible the entire suite is requiredf. **What problems is Impress solving and how is that benefiting you?** Again the cost is the greatest asset. The application works as many other presentation softwares work. It is great application for small business that have a minimal IT budget. ### 13. It can use many different formats and open any presentation made with Powerpoint without problem. It also recognizes the most popular video formats like .AVI and .MP4, and recovers your data perfectly if the program crashes or is unexpectedly closed for any reason. The UI might be a little simple, but it's also very easy to understand and has everything I need to create my presentations. **What do you dislike about Impress?** There are very exceptional when your work gets a little mess up when you try to open a file made with Impress using Powerpoint. I think this hapens when you use videos or .GIF files in your presentation and and old version of Powerpoint. This is a very rare problem. Other that that, there is nothing I really dislike about Impress. **Recommendations to others considering Impress:** Impress contains all the necessary tools to create a high quality presentation that meets all requirements. It will do most everything you want, but it isn't a very smooth experience. The fact that it is a multi-platform presentation application is a huge plus. It handles all .ppt files I can throw at it, and it exports to .pdf. **What do you dislike about Impress?** The GNOME look and feel. It feels very out of date, and it is not optimized for high resolution, retina displays yet. The animations are dated, and the application is not very intuitive overall in its menu placements. **Recommendations to others considering Impress:** Be comfortable with standard Linux software.
