This server was ahead of its time but that was long time ago . Developing application with Websphere is painfully slow. Expanding as part of the MFP platforms. The end users have been using the product love that it is easy to consume. There are many different use cases for such a product and the speed to market on the product makes for a great overall solution set. There are plenty of great things about the product but one of my favorite is how easy it is for the development teams and our business accelerators to take a look and jump right in with using the solution. **What do you dislike about IBM WebSphere?** The product is comparable to other products on the market and does a good job at what it aims to do. The ease of deployment internally and getting internal app dev teams to utilize the product has been easier to work with. **Recommendations to others considering IBM WebSphere:** N/A **What problems is IBM WebSphere solving and how is that benefiting you?** Speed to market, but moreso it's important for our developers to be able to utilize the product in a way that meets with their current use cases for development, there are many different groups that develop internal applications that need to have a solution that implementing integration points to not take many hours. ### 4. The installation guide is very easy to understand. Support is also very helpful. Opening PMR with WAS is pretty easy and they are very responsive. The response time is also very fast. Our WAS representative is also very help and accessible. **What do you dislike about IBM WebSphere?** Licensing is very expensive. WebSphere Application Server ND and family edition is pretty expensive. The first time pruchase is very expensive and the renew is pretty costly as well. The migration tool from one version to the next also requires some time to understand. **What problems is IBM WebSphere solving and how is that benefiting you?** With WebSphere Liberty, it gives us the ability the refine some of our current footprint and enable to save money on licensing. We are working on migrating our traditional env to a liberty env. However, liberty is very new and requires some time for us to get used to. ### 5. Constant problems with upgrading, deployments...etc. Should only be used to support legacy applications. Upgrading Java and other languages is a pain. It is also bundled with their version of eclipse which makes things annoying use together.
