One can easily run reports and obtain donor information which assists in improving donor stewardship and retention. **What do you dislike about iATS Payments?** It has been challenging for us to figure out how to integrate iATS with Salesforce, so we are currently manually transferring donor information from iATS reports to Salesforce. **Recommendations to others considering iATS Payments:** When you compare functionality, ease of use, reporting options, cost, and time to onboard staff, one will quickly see that iATS is an excellent option for small nonprofit organizations looking to process donations. **What problems is iATS Payments solving and how is that benefiting you?** Unlike other software we have used in the past, with iATS, we have all of the necessary information to add new donors to our database, track donations, process monthly giving, and remain connected with donors. The information is in one report, which is easily accessible. ### 2. It's great to have different options to process credit cards and accept direct debit deposits. The fees are reasonable, and the customer service is excellent. **What do you dislike about iATS Payments?** We lost a few donors due to regular service disruptions. Our donor had been charged multiple times, and another error occurred, which the IATS Payments didn't inform us about, and the refund sent to our donor was declined, with no reason given. We have never received any refund for the fees we paid for all these transactions that created significant issues for our donor and our organization. **Recommendations to others considering iATS Payments:** The IATS Payments have reasonable fees, but I would also consider your time and efforts to solve multiple issues. **What problems is iATS Payments solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use the iATS Payments processor only for recurring donations processing. It's great to be able to process AHC payments which is not possible with the other payment processor we are currently using. ### 3. Since they changed to 1st American Payment Processing, we no longer use. **What do you dislike about iATS Payments?** We no longer are using iATS. But when we were, it was frustrating on how fees were netted out of the account and made a lot of extra work for our accounting team. **Recommendations to others considering iATS Payments:** If they haven't fixed it yet, be sure your accounting team know what they are getting into when trying to settle the batches at month end. For some reason, iATS does this different than other processors and it was very difficult to do. **What problems is iATS Payments solving and how is that benefiting you?** We used iATS specifically when it was the required processor for BidPal/OneCause. They have since changed processors and we no longer use. ### 6. This has caused an incredible amount of additional work in the accounting department. If we had known this at the outset, we wouldn't have chosen iATS for our nonprofit. **Recommendations to others considering iATS Payments:** iATS has automated a previously manual process and works well with our CRM, but it took quite a lot of work to set up and was not as turnkey as we had hoped. Big picture, iATS meets our needs but hasn't exceeded our expectations. **What problems is iATS Payments solving and how is that benefiting you?** iATS is helping us solve our donation processing and creating these donation "opportunities" within our CRM. This step has been automated which cuts down on manual entry. ### 7. I cant say there is anything specific about it that I love. It seems there are a small handful of companies that provide this type of service. So like the water bill.... its essential but nothing special. **What do you dislike about iATS Payments?** The set up is complicated and time-consuming. Reporting is not as robust as it could be especially since we are a non profit and need to steward donors. Nothing I terribly dislike just a standard must have with few options for choice. **Recommendations to others considering iATS Payments:** There are a few major giants that provide CC services. iATS is one of them. I think they are pretty much equal in service and product. I can't say I recommend one over the other. Once you are entrenched in one, its not likely you will switch. **What problems is iATS Payments solving and how is that benefiting you?** No problems currently, occasionally we need support to solve a charge problem or system glitch. Customer support is a given of course for any client-facing product. Like many others the queue for in person support is usually long and arduous. I'm not sure there is any specific benefit here other than having the something to meet our needs. I don't feel its distinguishable from others products. ### 8. It is so kind and helpful to have this kind of resource. **What do you dislike about iATS Payments?** I find the site layout looks a bit outdated at times. There is nothing wrong with the reports, and something like this does not necessarily need to be flashy, but it is not always easy to read the details. I find I will need to pull more than one report if I forget the exact area of where I got the information. If it was a bit more intuitive, I would appreciate it. **What problems is iATS Payments solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to serve visitors who cannot come to our location but would still want to donate. Many donors are also concerned about calling during their personal time and not always being able to reach someone at our charity. This gives the opportunity for donors to give 24/7. ### 10. I also use STRIPE and Paypal for other nonprofits. With IATS if I have an issue I can call them and someone is on the phone with me in minutes - I think I have only needed to call twice in the last 5 years **Recommendations to others considering iATS Payments:** If you are using CiviCRM this is an excellent choice for Credit Card and e-Check **What problems is iATS Payments solving and how is that benefiting you?** Easy and simply taking credit cards for our NON Profit. We were using PayPal for this but had donors who just didn't want to use Paypal. We have kept both and let our donor choose their processer - and 90% of our traffic goes through IATS ### 24. It has also integrated the processing through Talisma Fundraising. We used to have to enter the credit cards in a terminal and then enter the credit cards manually in Talisma Fundraising. This is now a seemless process. Bill pay is another nice use for the software, allowing the administrator to utilize the full potential of managing users and the administration itself. I will submit that this platform is not ideal for an asthetic design, but that can be overlooked if your primary focus is managing information and finances (for most it is). I find the fees to be more than fair and I also love the ease of viewing the fees. There are plenty of options to view both income and fees, and they are presented in a way that can be easily interperted by both user and admin. **What do you dislike about iATS Payments?** Not particularly conduscive to SSC designs, this is the aesthetic aspect of a form, specifically for non-profits.
