It helped us sort through the massive number of applicants we received on a public job posting. Those who were serious took the employment test, and those who weren't, didnt. Once we had a pool of people who had taken the test, we had a pretty good idea who was going to be a good fit. After meeting applicants in person, we were able to confirm what HR Avatar had already shown us. It was a daunting task bringing in people from a public job posting (a first for us), but we felt confident that the people we brought in to interview were up to par.
