Setting up the targets and scheduling the tests is straightforward. The library of available test emails is very large and offered in multiple languages, which is helpful for including our offshore teams in the testing as well. Overall, Hook is more cost-effective than trying to set up and manage a system on our own, and it’s well worth the cost. Any questions I’ve had have also been answered by the support team quickly and clearly. **What do you dislike about Hook Security?** Setting up the spam filters to allow the test emails through is a little cumbersome. That said, it doesn’t seem to be an issue with Hook itself, but rather with our email provider. **What problems is Hook Security solving and how is that benefiting you?** We know security is a concern and we had relied on basic communications and simple training. Hook has enabled us to regularly test our teams with phishing emails and gives us clear feedback on what actions were taken by our users. Hook Security takes this responsibility off my plate every month by managing and sending out monthly campaigns without any intervention from me. My end-users get tested regularly and take training as needed. It doesn't get any easier than this. This is why I will continue to be a customer for years to come. It also helps that their content is great. The setup was pretty easy, better than other products we've had. **What do you dislike about Hook Security?** A lot of their templates are USA-focused with a smaller number being relevant to the UK or global market. After a few years, we are beginning to run out of templates to use. Just a more UK relevant variety would be good. The reports it generates are very user-friendly, and the overall design and UI are also easy to navigate. On top of that, it includes learning videos, so when a user clicks the link in a generated phishing email, they’re taken directly to the learning video. **What do you dislike about Hook Security?** I haven’t noticed any downsides so far. The only thing I’d like to see implemented is some kind of automated task that sends a phishing email test to users every month. The content is the strongest part for us - it is engaging enough that employees actually pay attention rather than clicking through just to mark it complete, which is the usual problem with awareness training. Rollout was straightforward and it takes very little ongoing admin effort on our side; once campaigns are scheduled they largely run themselves. The reporting is clear and easy to read - who clicked, who completed their training, and how those numbers move over time - which makes it simple to show progress to management. **What do you dislike about Hook Security?** The admin interface is the weakest part. Setting up and managing campaigns takes more clicking around than it should, and it is not always obvious where a given setting lives, so you end up hunting through menus. It would be helpful if Entra could sync automatically and if it connected to the Microsoft Partner Center, so all tenants could automatically enroll. Additionally, it would be beneficial to have custom training plans based on the industry on a per-tenant basis, like automotive or real estate. In addition customer support has gotten really bad. No proactive communication on potential contract renewal, account was completely disabled which affected our own clients. Then when problem was rectified wasn't told my agreement had been renewed without our consent. Hook isn't focused on the "haha, gotchya, and you're a terrible risk in our organization" -- they're focused on the "let's learn together how to become more security-aware". To get employees to participate in the training, they have two methods - humorous and more formal - to match your Org's culture. I was very thoughouly onboarded by one dedicated person who built a customized task list with videos which helped tremendously. After using and demoing several competitors, I feel 100% comfortable recommending Hook to others. While they're a "smaller" company at the time of writing, that doesn't stop them from having all of the "big" company features, plus some. **What do you dislike about Hook Security?** I have yet to find any downsides to using Hook. Unlike bigger competitors, you are not treated as "just another number". Hook Security is a little challenging for beginners, but it is easy when we focus on the modules; it will be effortless to catch. **What problems is Hook Security solving and how is that benefiting you?** In my enterprise, we use Hook Security to train employees on cybersecurity. And we also educate our potential clients to protect their valuable digital assets from phishing and racketing Vulnerabilities. ### 43. It's taken a lot off of MY plate to come up with and keep a training program updated. Plus, the Phishing Simulations are GREAT with landing pages that allow you to see if your user will type in information. It is invaluable to know if your user will not only click the link (no-no) but ALSO extend data. **What do you dislike about Hook Security?** I wish the auto reporting feature was a little more flexible. I'd like to be able to one time set up the report and have it auto run to my email on a specified day. Don't get me wrong, they have reporting that will do it, I just don't need as much information as it gives, so being able to fine-tune it for us would be really nice. **What problems is Hook Security solving and how is that benefiting you?** We've had one security breach, another user out $500 from a gift card scam, and we still have users that click links occasionally. What Hook really does for us is allow us a glimpse into whether our cyber awareness program is working or not. We train with their files, but the phishing simulations tell us whether it's working or not. We're better than we started out, but occasionally we still have users click, so clearly it's a necessary program and we'll continue on with it! ### 44. We switched from one of the largest security awareness training providers because we wanted one that made us feel like we mattered to them. Of course, the requirement was that the training had to be good. If the users didn't pay attention to it, what is the use? But they love it! We get a lot more discussion on security topics now that we've used Hook. Happy since the spring of 2021! **What do you dislike about Hook Security?** There isn't much to dislike. If I were going to nitpick, I'd comment on the look and feel of the admin portal. Though I can't come up with a better way to display so much information... **What problems is Hook Security solving and how is that benefiting you?** Before, our users would ignore training videos, or play them without actually watching them. Now, because of their size and how the teaching is delivered, our users are much more likely to watch them without being reminded. This increases our security posture! ### 45. Its user interface is straightforward to use and has enabled easy onboarding for the employees to the forum. Learning and adapting to the application is simple and provides many templates to test our selected campaigns. **What do you dislike about Hook Security?** I have been using it for eight months now, and I have no complaints as such. They may not have updated their review text, but have updated their review. **What do you like best about Hook Security?** The best part of Hook is that the product works. Our users have significantly improved over the last nine months of tests. The portal makes it super easy to get reports and drill down into specifics. Also, the people at Hook have been great to work with. They respond to all our requests in a timely manner and seek to help us solve any issue that pops up. **What do you dislike about Hook Security?** There is not much that I dislike. At first, we had some technical issues with filtering out false positives, but with some follow-up meetings, we were able to get them resolved. **Recommendations to others considering Hook Security:** My advice is to give their product a try and you will see how easy it is. **What problems is Hook Security solving and how is that benefiting you?** The business benefit is enormous. We've had clients who callously click on anything and everything, resulting in deleterious effects which affected the entire company and their clients. Hook provides a safe way to train users to become more aware. Combined with policy controls from the company, the solution results in a much more educated user base that is much more mindful and aware of the dangers in cyber space. The training videos at the end of each test provides short and accurate training to make the end-user much more aware **What do you dislike about Hook Security?** It would be nice to be able to customize templates even more and brand them. **Recommendations to others considering Hook Security:** A definite must for remote and office-based employees who may not be protected behind a robust firewall that filters out attacks and DNS filtering which steers traffic away from potential attacks **What problems is Hook Security solving and how is that benefiting you?** Much fewer incidences of successful spam and phishing attacks and a much more educated clientele ### 50. She answers all questions in a timely fashion and with great detail. She made the process of onboarding clients and using the portal painless, and in return, I can dedicate more time to clients. **What do you dislike about Hook Security?** Having to add new allowed list entries each month for new campaign domains can potentially be time-consuming if you have many clients. **Recommendations to others considering Hook Security:** If you're looking for quality training courses that aren't overbearing and phish tests for your organization or clients you service without taking up too much of your time, Hook Security is a great fit. They also meet the criteria required by many cyber insurance companies regarding security training. **What problems is Hook Security solving and how is that benefiting you?** The main problem I had before signing on with Hook Security was having to dedicate too much time to creating and scheduling phishing test campaigns. I also had to manually create tickets as reminders for when phishing campaigns closed to communicate reporting with clients.
