What do you like best about Hook Security?

Using Hook Security for our phishing testing has been great. Setting up the targets and scheduling the tests is straightforward. The library of available test emails is very large and offered in multiple languages, which is helpful for including our offshore teams in the testing as well. Overall, Hook is more cost-effective than trying to set up and manage a system on our own, and it’s well worth the cost. What do you dislike about Hook Security?

Setting up the spam filters to allow the test emails through is a little cumbersome. That said, it doesn’t seem to be an issue with Hook itself, but rather with our email provider. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Hook Security solving and how is that benefiting you?

We know security is a concern and we had relied on basic communications and simple training. Hook has enabled us to regularly test our teams with phishing emails and gives us clear feedback on what actions were taken by our users. "Effortless Monthly Security Awareness Training with Great Content"

What do you like best about Hook Security?

I'm a one-man IT shop, but I still need to make sure that Security Awareness Training remains a top priority. Hook Security takes this responsibility off my plate every month by managing and sending out monthly campaigns without any intervention from me. My end-users get tested regularly and take training as needed. It doesn't get any easier than this. This is why I will continue to be a customer for years to come. What I don’t like about Hook Security is that the campaign management process could be simplified further. Setting up frequent training campaigns should take less time to configure, so there isn’t unnecessary administrative effort. Better filters and more customization options in reporting would also be helpful, so the information I need can be identified more easily. What we like best about Hook Security is how easy it makes security awareness training and simulation for both our team and our clients. The platform is intuitive, the content feels approachable rather than punitive, and the team behind it is genuinely responsive. I understand that Hook Security is in the middle of launching a new platform which will address my concerns, so these issues may no longer exist. Some of the reporting and customization options could be more flexible, particularly when managing multiple client organizations at scale. We’d like more control over how reports are presented and an easier way to tailor campaigns across different clients. I really like how Hook Security stops our annual training from becoming stale because their cybersecurity training is a lot more fun and engaging than most other options out there. The production quality of their training is better than any I've seen. The constant phishing tests they send really keep our users sharp, and Hook Security's library of phishing test templates is extensive. A lot of their templates are USA-focused with a smaller number being relevant to the UK or global market. After a few years, we are beginning to run out of templates to use. "Continuous Security Awareness: Fresh Phishing Templates & Embedded Video Training"

What do you like best about Hook Security?

It has pre-built templates that can be used for phishing tests, and those templates are updated every month with a new one. The reports it generates are very user-friendly, and the overall design and UI are also easy to navigate. What do you dislike about Hook Security?

I haven’t noticed any downsides so far. The only thing I’d like to see implemented is some kind of automated task that sends a phishing email test to users every month. Pricing is on point, low minimum requirements, AI onboard the platform, and training content that is just out of this world! What do you like best about Hook Security?

We use Hook Security mainly for phishing simulations and the security awareness training modules. The content is the strongest part for us - it is engaging enough that employees actually pay attention rather than clicking through just to mark it complete, which is the usual problem with awareness training. Rollout was straightforward and it takes very little ongoing admin effort on our side; once campaigns are scheduled they largely run themselves. The reporting is clear and easy to read - who clicked, who completed their training, and how those numbers move over time - which makes it simple to show progress to management. What do you dislike about Hook Security?

The admin interface is the weakest part. Setting up and managing campaigns takes more clicking around than it should, and it is not always obvious where a given setting lives, so you end up hunting through menus. It is something you learn and work around rather than a blocker, but a cleaner and more consistent admin UI would make the day-to-day management noticeably faster, especially for anyone who only logs in occasionally. The core problem it solves for us is human risk. Technical controls only go so far - people still receive phishing emails, and we needed a way to both train employees and know whether that training is actually landing. The simulations give us a realistic picture of how our team responds to a phishing attempt, and the training modules give people something worth watching instead of a compliance video they sit through with the tab in the background. The practical benefit is visibility: we can see click rates and training completion across the company and watch them move in the right direction over time, which is far more useful than assuming everyone read a security policy document. I really like that Hook Security's training courses are very light-hearted and engaging. The humor keeps the staff's attention and makes them more likely to listen to the content, which is a big improvement from the dry, bland training courses we used before. This engaging approach helps ensure that our staff actually benefits from the security awareness training. Additionally, I value the ability to send out these courses regularly, as it allows us to demonstrate compliance for auditing purposes, such as ISO 27001 certification. Some settings were quite challenging, particularly when it came to whitelisting email addresses and domains, although the support was good in helping us get set up.
