I had a couple of user based issues and the team were quick to assist in getting the setup right whilst implementing. **What do you dislike about Hexowatch?** I have to make a problem to be honest as the product works well for me... Only additional wants would be the ability to trigger a phone call if X percentage of the page changes and the next check agrees a massive change. This could be noting end user is seeing the same and having difficulties. **What problems is Hexowatch solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am able to monitor for visual changes outside of a normal tolerance, whilst actually blocking elements I know will change and clicking objects I need to be interacted with. ### 2. I like that I can get so much detail on competitor sites using AI Monitoring Tool, much more than I was before when I used followthatpage. One benefit I had is that I found a competitor started a partner program by seeing it appear in the footer of their site. I would have probably missed that if not for Hexowatch. **What do you dislike about Hexowatch?** I found there was a bit of a learning curve. The basic setup is easy, but there are many options for each monitor and most don't have clear documentation or the UI is not obvious so I wasted some credits in learning to set it up. Also the repot on content change comes as one huge content blok so it's a little difficult to tell what text changes. **What problems is Hexowatch solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's difficult to keep up with meaningful changes to competitors offering, message and position. Hexowatch makes it easy to keep track of a lot of details about the competitove market, without a lot of work. ### 3. I mainly use it to monitor visual changes of the website I maintain. It takes a lot of time to keep every website up to date, but those updates can introduce unintended visual changes. Hexowatch comes to the rescue and keeps an eye on those pesky websites. You can set the sensitivity of the monitor, so you won't be notified for false positives. **What do you dislike about Hexowatch?** I would like to see a bulk URL editor and a way to organize the URLs into collections or folders. In my use case I need to add 2-3 key pages of a website at least, both desktop view and mobile view. This means I have around 4-6 URL monitors minimum for a single website. These can't be re-organized on the list and you can't put them in folders, so your URL list can become a little messy. I hope this will be changed soon, since it's a feature which was requested by others too. The team is super responsive and always strives to make the product better, so it's just a matter of time till these will be changed. Update: Since they added bulk addition of URLs. **What problems is Hexowatch solving and how is that benefiting you?** I maintain websites the we create, and Hexowatch saves us a lot of time to check on the client sites, looking for visual changes. I bought this tool privately to allow myself to better perform my job (in a more time effective manner) and to monitor regulator websites (across 9 legal jurisdictions) for changes which I otherwise would have to manually check constantly as the regulators are not good at communicating some of the smaller legislative and other requirement changes which occur. The tool also has also saved money by allowing me to work out when and what times suppliers were changing their prices (Html element monitor allowed me to see a pattern as to when was the best time to buy as some vendors change prices hourly). With this tool I get a notification and a comparison / record (with changes highlighted) of the before and after changes. ### 7. I also like that I can keep an eye on my partners websites, ensuring their backlinks stay correct with the right anchor text. I even use Hexowatch to monitor my obligations with external links to my partner sites. It's a dead simple way to make sure that your backlinks are always powered up and active. **What do you dislike about Hexowatch?** There are several little usability features that could be implemented, like for example, bulk editing. Or the ability to edit the entire monitor (currently, once you save a monitor, and need to make a change later, only some of the options are available to edit.) That said - it's really only a matter of time before these minor gripes will be addressed. The team at Hexowatch are always pushing out great new features and squashing bugs. So, don't let a few little usability issues lead you astray - be patient, and I'm sure they will be taken care of in no time. In my few weeks with Hexowatch, I feel that this is the software to add to your collection, especially while the prices are really favorable! With it, you can monitor any web page for visual changes as well as the sensitivity of those checks. When a change does take place, you can view those changes using a nifty before/after slider bar or highlighter graphic (that superimposes the before/after states). It's such a cool feature! **What do you dislike about Hexowatch?** The UI/UX has improved a lot since I first started using it; however, I feel there is still room for improvement. For example, the Monitored URLs window doesn't show tags or allow bulk edits. Also, there are currently some limitations on editing existing monitors. That said, the support team is highly responsive and quickly addressed previous concerns I had. I don't doubt that Hexowatch will continue to improve with time. **What problems is Hexowatch solving and how is that benefiting you?** My business involves maintaining WordPress websites, which includes applying updates and monitoring for malware. When things go wrong with WordPress, it isn't always readily noticeable. This is where Hexowatch helps. No longer do I have scan pages looking for problems. But those software cost a small fortune and they don't even provide more features. For almost all website owners it's cruical to be up to date what your competitors are doing as if you don't, you can be left behind before you even realize it. So basically you have to choices, to manually spend a lot of time to keep an eye of a, in many cases, lot of web sites to see what they are up to. OR you can use Hexowatch to monitor which ever website you want and save huge amount of time. And best of all, it's so easy to use that anyone will be up and running in no time. **What do you dislike about Hexowatch?** It's hard to find anything negative about Hexowatch. But there are some room for improvement when it comes to UI/UX. One example is that when you add a new URL to monitor and are going to tag it and an appropiate tag doesn't exist so you need to create a new tag. By doing that you'll get transfered to another page to create the tag and you then have to start over by opening the "Add URL"-page, enter the URL again and then you can choose your new tag. I think that it should be possible to create tags without jumping back and forth between pages. I mean, AJAX isn't that hard to implement for such a feature. **What problems is Hexowatch solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps me to keep track of both my clients competitors as well as my competitors without me having to think about it. There is many monitoring tools on the market but nothing like Hexowatch on the market right now. It can be used as an uptime monitoring tool but that's not its main purpose. It is its capacity to gather insights that is really staggering. Want to now when a private sell will open? Boom, you'll receive a real time notification to tell you when it happens. Want to know your next competitor move or digital marketing strategy? Boom you'll be able to know instantly when they update their page. Want to monitor your website uptime, Hexowatch can do this too. Even better than this: you can track any site ownership via Whois monitoring, this is a killer feature! But also any webdesign/layout change, frontend technologies used on a webpage. You can track keywords, html code change on any page, have a visual comparison between changes, pretty neat and well thought of. I mostly use the full page visual (you can select how much needs to change for notifications) and individual HTML elements monitoring, but it has more options than that. The check times are fairly flexible. The system is being actively developed and enhanced. I really do like the Telegram notification option for items I need to look at quicker and just e-mail for others. The tool allows you to monitor any type of webpage for any type of change (HTML, text...). I use it to track links and make sure they don't get removed. So my typical use case is I monitor my suppliers website and targeting the part where it displays the price and I will be notified everytime they increase/decrease pricing. **What do you dislike about Hexowatch?** This is a fairly new product so sometimes I still get event was not captured notification as well as when you create a visual monitoring, there's no way to edit the area you're watching so you'd have to delete it and start over a new one where you lose all the history of the previous monitoring. **Recommendations to others considering Hexowatch:** Try it!
