**What do you like best about Heropa?**

I like best how Heropa allows me to quickly set up realistic, interactive lab environments for students, simulating servers and networks without the need for complex infrastructure. The platform is intuitive and flexible, making it easy to adjust scenarios or create new labs on the fly. On top of that, Heropa’s super-fast support is incredibly helpful—any questions or issues are addressed promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to teaching and learning.

**What do you dislike about Heropa?**

I haven’t encountered any major issues; it meets our requirements effectively.

**What problems is Heropa solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Heropa solves the problem of providing students with hands-on access to custom server environments without the risks or costs of physical hardware. Each student can work in their own safe, isolated copy of the lab, which ensures practical learning opportunities while maintaining system security and consistency. This has made delivering IT labs much more efficient and effective for our teaching.

**What do you like best about Heropa?**

Heropa provides a versatile platform for creating realistic software labs for use as training environments. These labs can be accessed by learners from anywhere, and only need to exist as long as is necessary to complete a training program, making them cost effective versus permanent, cloud-based VMs. The platform is bolstered by responsive support.

**What do you dislike about Heropa?**

The process for creating, managing, and updating templates is coherent from an engineering standpoint, but requires extra thought and work from users. Some additional automation, especially in the area of version control for templates, would be helpful.

**What problems is Heropa solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Heropa provides the platform to define our instructional lab templates and deploy them to create remotely accessible environment for students in our software training programs. Because labs are dynamically created only at the time that a course is occurring, the solution is much more cost-effective than dedicated cloud-based VMs. The template approach also simplifies updating the labs with new software versions or new course materials.

**What do you like best about Heropa?**

The platform is amazing.  It has changed the way we think about deploying both our class room and virtual events.  It allows us to come to a class with the software already to go!

**What do you dislike about Heropa?**

There is not much to dislike.  If there are any issues the support team are very reactive and accessible 24hrs a day.

**What problems is Heropa solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With COVID we had no choice but to move to virtual delivery.  We had tried many other solutions in the past, but all where expensive and clunky.  Heropa  solved all these problems.  In one or two click, participants have launched the software application.  Post COVID it has revolutionised how we operate.

**What do you like best about Heropa?**

It’s a powerful, easy-to-use platform that makes it simple to deliver virtual labs and training environments at scale. The system is stable, and the user experience is smooth for both administrators and participants. Customer support is also very helpful and quick to respond.

**What do you dislike about Heropa?**

There’s not much to dislike — occasionally navigation takes a few extra clicks, but overall it’s a strong product that keeps improving with regular updates.

**What problems is Heropa solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Heropa removes the complexity of setting up and maintaining virtual lab environments. Instead of managing physical hardware or complex cloud setups, I can create and deploy fully functional environments in minutes. This saves time, reduces technical overhead, and makes it easier to deliver consistent, hands-on experiences to users anywhere in the world.

**What do you like best about Heropa?**

Great support, good documentation, nice graphics while waiting for the virtual machines to start up (you'll know when you start using), easy to get started, easy for instructor to help students as it's easy to go to any of their screens during the session, setting up new templates for classes is not difficult, the dashboard helps you keep track of usage...it's worth it.

**What do you dislike about Heropa?**

The approach to the creation of lab templates is somewhat laborious, but it gets the job done - an engineer's engineer would appreciate it.

Having a virtual hands-on environment for training employees, partners and customers.

**What do you like best about Heropa?**

I have worked with a lot of software SaaS companies over the years and Heropa is one of the best! They truly partner with you as a client to understand your business needs and implement solutions that work. Heropa is continually improving their platform for the betterment of their users based on user feedback and requests. Heropa truly goes above and beyond!  Our implementation was smooth and we have already received positive feedback from our customers! Heropa practices continous improvement based on client feedback and the support is top notch:  Responsive, friendly, and quick. It is obvious that Heropa's team wants each client to succeed and will do anything within their power to make that happen!

**What do you dislike about Heropa?**

Across the board, Heropa performs well. When issues come up, they implement corrective action in a timely manor and work to eliminate the issue from occuring again.

I value their prompt and thorough responses to both support questions and general inquiries about their solution. The simplicity of implementation, seamless integration, and overall user experience are truly exceptional.

The help documentation would benefit from an update to incorporate details on Azure workflows.

**What problems is Heropa solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Heropa enables us to run up to 50 distinct classes of 15 students each week. Each student is provided with at least one virtual environment. We can effortlessly set up and dismantle new events with minimal time and effort.

The folks at Heropa have been very easy to work with and have had a vested interest in seeing us succeed within their platform. They have worked tirelessly to enhance their product to best meet our needs. We have a great partnership going on here!

Heropa is highly AWS focused, although they ramping up in the Azure space. I appreciate that they've taken the time to learn and grow their product to better support Azure.

**What do you dislike about Heropa?**

User deletion along with the event deletion is not in sync even tho there is an option available in event policy settings. If you create users through Heropa API, event users won't be deleted automatically after the event ends.

**What problems is Heropa solving and how is that benefiting you?**

New features of the user session token and Heropa APIs offer us flexibility as well as security. that our team will leverage to validate users before they access to workspace URL. We now provide user VM access with workspace URL because of recent revamping in our infrastructure. Now we are heavily rely on Heropa API and planning to retire the LTI launch URL for accessing VMs.

1. Modern Interface and User Experience At the forefront of our admiration for Heropa is their modern interface and user interface (UI). The front-end design is not only visually appealing but also intuitively navigable, making it a hit among our learners. The simplicity and sleekness of the design ensure that users can focus on learning without any distractions or complications. 

2. Ease of Use for Learners Heropa excels in creating an environment where ease of use is paramount. Our learners have consistently reported a smooth learning experience, with minimal to no technical hurdles. This ease of use significantly enhances their learning process, making complex lab activities seem more approachable and less daunting. 

3. Efficient Admin Console On the backend, Heropa offers an admin console that is a game-changer for administrators tasked with building out lab environments. The console is not just about control; it’s about streamlined efficiency for ease of implementation. No dislikes.  The Heropa platform has been serving our customer training needs, demos, and POCs quite nicely.

Firstly, they serve as an integral partner, enabling us to offer a diverse range of learning experiences including on-demand labs, instructor-led training, workshops, and demos. This versatility greatly enhances our educational offerings, catering to different learning styles and needs. Furthermore, Heropa simplifies the integration process with Learning Management Systems (LMS), a crucial aspect for educational institutions and training organizations. The support for Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) protocol is particularly beneficial, as it ensures seamless connectivity and data exchange between the virtual lab platform and various LMS systems. **What do you like best about Heropa?**

We used Heropa to teach a one-day course on river ice modelling at a conference. It worked perfectly! We loaded the computer models and relevant model files onto the virtual machines and tested everything out ahead of time. On the day of the course, all 35 participants were able to login to the VM without any issues, and everything worked flawlessly. The VM was very responsive with no noticeable lag using the WiFi provided by the conference hotel. The customer support while setting up the VM and testing out the models was also excellent. I would definitely use Heropa again!

No dislikes! It all worked great and we knew that customer support was available for help if we ran into any issues.

**What problems is Heropa solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Heropa made it easy to make sure that all students were operating on a level playing field. It removed any potential headaches associated with students having trouble installing software or not being sure where they had saved their model files. Knowing that all students were using the same setup made trouble-shooting very easy.

Provisioning hands on training lab environments to our clients just in time in a few clicks and providing back end access to provide support to course attendees is an amazing solution that Heropa provides us. We also use Heropa to create and facilitate demonstrations of our soutions to clients which is an extremely powerful sales tool.

The easy to use interfaces (UI as well as API) to schedule and launch a browser based VM.

They are still building out their APIs,  but tbh I can't think of an interface I need currently.

Ability to generate on demand Windows VMs and give a user that unique VM.

**What do you like best about Heropa?**

Heropa offers a user-friendly platform for quickly setting up and managing servers for student labs. With the ability to create templates and launch servers in just minutes, integrating them into our courses is a breeze. We can easily monitor student progress and remotely access their servers. The variety of available platforms and the option for students to create their own Hyper-V virtual machines make Heropa an invaluable tool for education.

**What do you dislike about Heropa?**

No dislikes. The platform is user-friendly, and the support team is always ready to lend a hand with setup and troubleshooting any problems that may occur.

In order to provide our students with realistic learning experiences using the latest technologies, we turned to Heropa for their top-notch virtual lab environments.

**What do you like best about Heropa?**

Heropa provides a unique cloud platform that enables fast and agile delivery of our education and training content to customers worldwide. The development of the content is easy and allows many of our technical people to contribute to the knowledge we provide through the Heropa solution. The team at Heropa is always receptive to our needs and undertakes to develop new features that enhance our customer experience. Heropa is a valued business partner that adds a digital education and training capability to our software portfolio of offers and differentiates us in the market.

**What do you dislike about Heropa?**

Sometimes the administration user interface is a little tricky to use and navigate. However, I would expect this to improve over time with new platform releases.

**What problems is Heropa solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Educating our end-user customers and technology partners worldwide. Reducing the impact of lengthy face-to-face, instructor-led training by providing online, cost-effective, high-quality self-paced course modules that enable the students to quickly and easily adopt the new educational content.  Scaling our reach is also another major challenge that Heropa solves. Reaching multiple customers and partners with the same training materials across various countries and regions has enhanced our product knowledge within our existing and new customer bases.

It's a powerful tool that provides great flexibility to our training sessions. It's so easy to customize our environment to the different training activities.

When we have a problem they provide fast and reliable to support.

**What do you dislike about Heropa?**

While you are teaching, if you are going back and forward to live demo concepts in an environment, sometime is annoying to click the Retry to connect button so many times.

Heropa allows us to provide our customers and employees with a real environment for our training activities. It helps to increase our training effectiveness as we can live-demo complex concepts and tools.

- Using templates to built out  different use cases / environments
- Meaningful features requests are considered on the roadmap and implemented pretty fast
- Great Support responses and short time for resolution
- Good access role and permissions
- Add our company branding

Partially there are slow reaction times when accessing environments on the cloud depending on the cloud location where the environments are deployed.

It helps to test different vendor solutions or scenarios in a virtual lab. It supports delivering training to partners and customers. It is used to conduct PoC's for new clients. 
That allows us to achieve our business objectives.

I did extensive research into hands-on lab providers to easily spin-up macOS desktops and Heropa seems to be the only one out there. Happy with the flexibility the Heropa lab environment provided the students.  The management tool allows you to reset or extend a lab for the students, view their workspace to help with troubleshooting.

The students are happy as the Server environment provides them with a sandbox to practice what they are learning and complete assessments from the comfort of their home.

Initial setup time to ensure the environment meets the requirements of the assessment conditions.

Heropa provided our Diploma students with an environment that allowed them to build and configure domains and application infrastructure.

The responsive and dedicated staff, alongside robust but nimble technology. For people who need to be able to spin up detailed environments quickly and easily, Heropa provides a product that dramatically reduces the technical overheads of managing your own IaaS instance. Everything from Licensing to provisioning instances is "IaaS on easy mode."

The only possible downside I could see is a high barrier to entry, however it is not an issue with my business as we were ready to heavily invest. Not to say the platform is too expensive, just that a lower tier could be less cost prohibitive for smaller businesses

**Recommendations to others considering Heropa:**

Be in touch with your local representative for a demonstration and for a trial. You will quickly realise that Heropa is an excellent option.

My company needed to create a massively saleable platform to enable our customers to conduct detailed product proofs of concepts, training environments and realistic demo environments. We also needed to be able to create these with short notice to give to our customers without having to do a long platform induction (required if we were to simply use AWS or similar). We're also able to build environments and share them our customers with a simple link alongside relevant social media posts as another simple example.

Several things:
1. The ability to view in real time what users are doing in their labs and quickly jump in to assist if needed.
2. Users don't need to install anything on their computers or configure any special network access. An up to date browser is all that's required to be able to remote access Linux & Windows VMs.
3. We deploy complex environments with several VMs and interconnecting private networks. Setting this up in Heropa was very quick and easy.
4. The fact that Heropa provides 24/7 support really helps out in the rare situations where something isn't working.
5. Heropa is completely encompassed into our brand. Users don't know what platform they're using and access is using a corporate domain name.

**What do you dislike about Heropa?**

1. I would like more documentation for released features and a clear road-map of what's expected in the future.
2. Some bite-sized video training would be helpful to direct first time users on how to use their lab workspace.

I would say that adopting Heropa has made my life a lot easier. Heropa automates many many operations that I would otherwise need to manually operate and overlays it all with a great UI and superb user experience.

I've had the pleasure of working a couple of support tickets with your support engineers and they have been nothing but outstanding to work with. 

I'd like to take a moment to recognize Jason from the support team who was amazing to work with but went above and beyond even a month after my ticket was closed to ask about an upload that was broken and to see if I needed assistance. This really surprised me as you very rarely see this kind of proactiveness from vendors. 

If all of the Heropa staff have the same characteristics as Jason, you guys have nothing to worry about!

I created the support ticket because I wasn't able to locate certain images that I needed for a PoC. Jason assisted us with all of the images we needed and much more!

Upskilled has been a customer of Heropa for over five years now and our experience has been great. The platform is  reliable and their support is quite. Heropa platform integrates with our LMS so students can easily login to their required labs and complete required tasks. 

One functionality that Heropa offers which is important for Upskilled is the possibility to offer Hyper-V nested virtualization, which enables our learners to access a variety of labs and gives us the flexibly to add more labs as require. Our students can get access to Hyper-V VMs from our Moodle LMS platform to perform advanced networking tasks and install a server's features and functions  such as DHCP and DNS. We can also customize our labs to fulfil specific requirements  and to map different qualifications performance criterias and elements.

**What do you dislike about Heropa?**

I wish they had a better reporting function to enable us reliable information about students completion rates, time spent in each lab and other relevant data.

Heropa is a good and reliable product.
