There is the primary web app interface, but they also have time tracking apps for both mobile and desktop. **What do you dislike about Harvest?** There are some oddities around the expenses UI that I'm not a fan of. It just isn't as clear to me as the time clock side. Personally, I would prefer to see expenses paginated the way that the time page is. **What problems is Harvest solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps us track time for all our consulting clients and bill accurately and on time. It has also the option of making notes and comments for projects to know the exact task that I was working at. It has also a pretty, easy to navigate user interface that saves the time to operate it. I had no negative experience with it so far. Also heard that product cost management tool is great. However, I still did not have a chance to try it myself. If you have multiple, we currently have 100+ clients, you currently have to select each staff member working on the project individually vs a team such as the dev team, design team, or advertising team. I also would like the ability to hide segments of data by user classification. Harvest currently has three clarifications Admin, Project Manager, and user. They are missing may be a Director or team leader. That has the ability to view the times of their staff and project assigned to their staff but not the wages of every employee. Harvest's budgeting and alert system needs some work as well. **What problems is Harvest solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to see the time we are investing in clients and billable to nonbillable hours. ### 15. It's easy to build out and provides really detailed reports that will help you identify utilization lags (and strengths). Really great for an agency! **What do you dislike about Harvest?** The Mac app can be a bit buggy — sometimes it pops up or it will only load the report for the day instead of the full week. While it does allow for the easy breakdown of common tasks, I wish there was autofill for the task notes so that I could keep easier track of my projects over the week (but that's really if I'm looking for something wrong with it). **What problems is Harvest solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use it to facilitate billing and track individual utilization rates (as well as those across departments). Quirks were minimal and when we figured out the issue, it was usually our fault. **What do you dislike about Harvest?** It's a bit confusing when assigning tasks to people and then starting to charge time towards them. We couldn't get the tasks to be assigned to the entire team correctly and visibility didn't always sync across all users. **Recommendations to others considering Harvest:** Harvest was an easy to use and easy to implement tool for our organization. I'm not sure how all features would scale in a larger organization though. I can see some potential pitfalls or unneeded complication when the user base gets to above 200. **What problems is Harvest solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed an easy to use time tracking tool. We got that through Harvest. We were just starting to use the integrations with Jira to make our development time tracking more seamless and so our developers wouldn't have to spend so much time on trivial time tracking tasks. ### 28. I also use the Chrome extension to be able to tell when the timer is running and identify the project I'm working on. I can monitor the project I'm working on, the team I'm working with, and the type of work I'm doing at that moment. Harvest allows me to work remotely and makes it easy to track the hours I've worked. **What do you dislike about Harvest?** Sometimes, the timers would experience a failure. It will not stop unless you stop it manually. Or it will not change every time you press "Start" on another timer. There have been cases where I would not be aware of this to guide me to present an estimate at the time it happens with a certain task. **What problems is Harvest solving and how is that benefiting you?** It allows me to manage and save the hours I invest in each project and job, to have a complete tracking of my work time. ### 36. I think this is a very good solution and really efficient. **What do you dislike about Harvest?** The work for external non-supported software has to be entered separately and individually - but this button in the dashboard is designed very intuitively and we are reminded automatically. **What problems is Harvest solving and how is that benefiting you?** Thanks to this tool we can work more productively and plan our workday better. We in the administration can see how many hours an employee has worked for the customer and can specifically charge these hours to the customer. ### 37. Keeping track of time spent on different projects is a breeze, and so it using it for invoice management and verifying payment for contractors. **What do you dislike about Harvest?** The mobile version of the site is a little difficult to use. The spreadsheet / calendar is slightly difficult to navigate but it is not a deal breaker by any means. **What problems is Harvest solving and how is that benefiting you?** Harvest helps manage contractor's time spent on various projects and also using the invoices to ensure payment is accurate. The benefits are saving time verifying time sheets on projects, also separate invoices, by putting everything in Harvest and making it easy. ### 40. The interface is nice, the reporting is solid, the apps are great. If you are a small company <10 employees, I would say Harvest is a very good choice. It supports a few more complex features, such as different currencies per client. The expense handling is also solid. In a lot of scenarios you can probably ditch a separate expense management solution like Expensify, if you can live with the smaller feature set. **What do you dislike about Harvest?** My feeling is you can outgrow Harvest quite quickly. There are a few things that Harvest does really, really badly. First: Harvest doesn't support multiple billing entities. If you work from a more complex organizational structure, then Harvest is not for you. This is probably only a concern for fast growing companies. second: Harvest's pricing model doesn't incentivize growth. You are stuck on a flat fee of around 10 USD/month per employee. Not great, if you work with a larger set of freelancers that only bill very little time. In these scenarios. Just 10 freelaners will cost you a thousand dollars a year. **Recommendations to others considering Harvest:** You need to take a close hard look at how likely it is that you will be outgrowing Harvest's feature set quickly **What problems is Harvest solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Harvest for time tracking and invoice management . ### 42. Our team loves how efficient and user-friendly the system is compared to our previous system. The best thing about Harvest is really how quickly it allows you to track time towards tasks and projects without a lot of extra bells and whistles making it more complex than it needs to be. **What do you dislike about Harvest?** I don't love how Harvest tracks expenses. Right now its almost a separate module entirely from the rest of the system and while they are linked to projects, it doesn't seem to get linked to project budget. It is easy to switch between projects and to add new projects. I can spend more time working rather than spending fifteen minutes each week racking my brain to remember which days I spent working on which projects. **What do you dislike about Harvest?** Once a project is archived it can be confusing to add time to it if for some reason changes need to be made.
