I have been using HAProxy for many years, mainly for load balancing, reverse proxying, and securing traffic . The initial setup was smooth, allowing us to add security features easily, such as WAF, which significantly decreased our applications' attack surface. HAProxy makes managing path and headers manipulation quick and easy with just a few lines of configuration. Its capabilities for affinity meet our simple load balancing needs perfectly. HAProxy also offers different APIs that are very useful when the complexity of the architecture increase. HAProxy's adoption is simple, quick, straightforward, and well-optimized. I love the ease of use of HAProxy, which significantly simplifies my daily processes. We have never in 10 years had any issue with HAPROXY. We use it to load balance our tom cats and occasionally lose a tomcat server but it is transparent to the user as they never see it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is secure and user friendly. It does load balancing and dynamic routing. We would recommend our customers and partners to use this product for web security, api management, container networking and security. The performance and manageability. You can use conventional configuration files and you can manage with an API. Community edition easily serves internal needs and is easy to install and configure. When considering production we need a cost efficient product that came with support. HAProxy Enterprise Edition (HAPEE) fits that bill. Our expensive hardware Load Balancers could do the job but at astronomical prices. HAPEE comes with a lot of modules out of the box for some advanced use cases. I don't have much to dislike. For some the loss of a GUI will be upsetting but that's not a problem on my team. As of today there are no historical stats kept by the software. You can see realtime stats all day but it's on the user to pipe them into software to keep historical data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Nothing that I dislike however with a tool like HAProxy the learning curve can be steep for newcomers. The configuration syntax, while powerful, takes time to master.

We use HAProxy to load balance and stabilize on premise and cloud, environments, windows, and Kubernetes based applications. We’ve enjoyed the future set of the fusion control plane and all that it has to offer, gaining valuable insights into our application requests, front end, and back in statistics, and usage data.
