"Great Test Variety for Screening, but Setup and Navigation Need Work"
What do you like best about HackerRank for Developers?

I like the variety of tests, and I also appreciate that there are contests for users to take so they can practice their knowledge. I’m using these tests as part of the screening process for selecting applicants for a bootcamp. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HackerRank for Developers?

I don’t like that it isn’t clear how to create tests for applicants, and I also don’t like that there’s no reminder I can send to applicants. Plus, all the tests are technical; I would prefer having soft skills and English-level tests instead of needing to use different tools just to stick to one tool. I also didn’t find it easy to navigate the first time I used it. It set me up as a student by default without asking whether I’m a company, even though I’m using the platform to test and screen bootcamp applicants. And its price is high Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Structured Learning with Community Support"
What do you like best about HackerRank for Developers?

I learned Java, MySQL, and Python from HackerRank for Developers. I like how it organizes all the problems in order of complexity and learning. I can go step by step with easier ones at the start, and the complexity increases as I progress. The discussion section for every problem is great because if I'm stuck, I can get a hint or find a solution. HackerRank for Developers also has built-in questions that are ordered, unlike Programiz, which just provides a compiler. The initial setup was easy, just some simple clicks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HackerRank for Developers?

Sometimes the learning curve goes steep high. Like sometimes a question teaches you how to print and the next question goes to peak data structure and algorithms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love using HackerRank for Developers because it provides very accurate results, which is crucial for filtering candidates and assessing their technical skills effectively. The high level of customization it offers is another aspect I really appreciate, making it easy to design tests and tailor assessments to meet specific needs. This feature has been particularly beneficial for our technical teams as it simplifies the process of test design and assignment. Additionally, the ease of the initial setup enhanced by its customizability ensured a smooth onboarding experience for our team. Overall, the combination of accuracy and customizability makes it an invaluable tool for my role in talent acquisition. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HackerRank for Developers?

I find that while AI plagiarism can be tracked with HackerRank for Developers, the tool could be improved by disqualifying candidates who use AI. This would enhance the ability to filter candidates more effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User-Friendly Platform with goof features"
What do you like best about HackerRank for Developers?

I really enjoy HackerRank for Developers as a frontend developer since it has a huge library of code challenges designed only for people like myself. The platform offers a broad variety of frontend-focused issues that let me hone my abilities and discover new ideas.

The interactive coding environment is one of the elements that really stands out to me. It enables me to develop and test my code in real-time and gives me immediate feedback on the accuracy and effectiveness of my work. This tool helps me improve my coding style while also enhancing my ability to solve problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HackerRank for Developers?

Some of the coding jobs on HackerRank may be unduly concentrated on algorithmic problem-solving, which may not necessarily be in line with what a frontend developer does on a daily basis. I would enjoy a larger emphasis on frontend-specific difficulties that represent real-world circumstances as someone who primarily works on user interfaces and client-side technology.

The rigidity of the frameworks and code languages is another issue that I find a little annoying. Although a good variety of programming languages are supported by HackerRank, there are moments when I wish I could utilise the particular frontend libraries and frameworks that I am most accustomed to. The experience would be more applicable and useful for frontend developers if there was the opportunity to remedy issues using well-known frontend tools like React or Vue.js.
