What do you like best about GroupBy?

What do you like best about GroupBy?

We had a great account manager at the beginning when we launched Groupby. Unfortunately, he moved into a different position and things just went downhill after that. We liked the customization tools for the most part, but sometimes they limited our ability to achieve the results we wanted.

Our current account manager, Daniel Nguyen, is exceptional. He's patient and helpful and responds within a few hours if he's able to help us. If he's unable to help us with our question right away, he acknowledges that he received our question and looks into it and gets back to us as soon as he has an answer. What do you dislike about GroupBy?

The account management went downhill after our first account manager moved into a different position. There was a lack of communication from the GroupBy team to us about who was in charge of our account and we had little to no guidance on ways we can improve our search. Once we were assigned an account manager, he implemented search rules that ended up hurting our search results and lacked quick response time.

We always had to go to THEM with search terms that need improving. They are supposed to be the experts in search functionality, yet it was our team that constantly was reaching out with questions on how to fix our search results.

Our experience with GroupBy Enrich was also frustrating. In our initial strategy for our filter system, products were incorrectly attributed. It was extremely time-consuming to go in and manually fix products. They offered to re-do our strategy assessment which was a long, arduous process but ended up being the best move in the long run. The second time is the charm, I guess.

We also ran into a few 'surprise' overcharges. You have an X amount of queries per search, and over the holidays when our site is extremely frequented, we went over our allotted qps for the month. We had no idea that this was an issue until we received this random invoice with a $1765 overage fee. The contract we'd agreed to was not clear about anything regarding overcharges or additional fees.

The overall experience with Groupby is manual, frustrating and quite frankly, not worth it. So, if you're looking to bring them on as a search provider, make sure you have a dedicated individual to deal with all the issues which you'll inevitability run into! What do you like best about GroupBy?

Searchandiser is a functional tool for influencing GSA results. It does provide better search results for customers in most cases. It is particularly helpful for spelling and redirects and good for ecommerce sites that have large number of SKUs with varying product types. It is also best for mature sites with older product data mixed with newer products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GroupBy?

Searchandiser isn't agile and flexible for different site areas. The filters that are created apply to all searches on the site. Also, the functionality is only as good as your product metadata. Not much documentation is available for training purposes. I wouldn't expect that it will solve all your ecommerce site problems, but it will help some. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
