It is effective at making time management and tracking easy, yet non-intrusive. **What do you dislike about Grindstone?** In recent versions, the cloud sync feature has been pushed heavily. I do understand this from the developer's perspective, however, as it is a method for monetization. I prefer local data storage, however. **Recommendations to others considering Grindstone:** If you are facing issues with your own personal time management and tracking, Grindstone can help make the tracking much more manageable. **What problems is Grindstone solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have used grindstone to solve the problem of tracking actual time spent on tasks. Grindstone makes it easy to compare the time spent on the task with the estimate of the time you thought the task would take to complete. ### 2. When dealing with multiple employees at different locations sometimes collaborating data for a final report at the end of a bid job can be daunting. This program simplifies multiple menial tasks into one easy step, allowing for time to be spent on much more important tasks. **What do you dislike about Grindstone?** I honestly have nothing negative to say. It's easy to install, easy to integrate and easy to implement. The only thing I might wish for is updates. This is a program I'd like to hang onto for a while. **Recommendations to others considering Grindstone:** Synchronize with Task Force! **What problems is Grindstone solving and how is that benefiting you?** Since installing Grindstone I've been able to track crews timesheets with ease at various locations using one job I.D. which has made payroll a breeze regardless of how many locations my crews were transferred to. The addition of "Task Force" was worth the small fee and works seamlessly with Grindstone. I highly recommend it to engage the full benefits of the software. ### 4. The timer is designed well into the interface and can easily be controlled by user. It detects precisely when I am away and it will prompt me to feed in information. All these make time management easier and lets you focus on most profitable tasks as it gives you accurate data at the end. **What do you dislike about Grindstone?** Grindstone is not available for all software platforms like mobile phones which makes it difficult to connect progress and sync. **Recommendations to others considering Grindstone:** Free software to track time based on tasks and measure performance using accurate data. **What problems is Grindstone solving and how is that benefiting you?** We track time and tasks, including following up on how others are performing on their given tasks thereby giving us the opportunity to improve and focus on profitable tasks. ### 5. Also, when I want to create a group, I have to do a lot of duplicate entries to make it work. For instance, I will have to create a task for my project that I'm working on, then create 5 different tasks for the same project before I can group them. It would be helpful to just be able to click a box to identify that it will be a group, then add the subtasks for that group to track. **What problems is Grindstone solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am using it for tracking project management so we can analyze the cost we are charging our clients vs. the time and cost of what a project is actually costing us. ### 8. It is made nice, allows a lot of customization. the reports possibilities are good. **What do you dislike about Grindstone?** The older version had more possibilities. For example automatic window popup for notes on task switching. But it does the work I need **Recommendations to others considering Grindstone:** For sure worth giving it a try. It depends on what exactly you need but for me, this is still the best solution for offline tracking. **What problems is Grindstone solving and how is that benefiting you?** Tracking the time for me and our team of people.
