I run a Youtube channel that features short films, web series and tutorials. A few years ago, I had a great number of views and subscribers. However, due to my busy schedule, I wasn't able to upload new content for 2 years. The lack of content resulted in a drastic decline in the number of views and subscribers of my channel. You see, posting a few new video uploads won't help revive my channel views. So I sought out the help of Youtube advertising to feature my latest content at the top of search results. Unfortunately, even after I started posting new content, the viewers didn't come back. So I tried using Youtube advertising to feature my content at the top of search results and it worked! Within a month, I was able to bring my numbers up 10 times! I was hesitant at first because I thought it would cost me a lot but the results were worth every penny spent. Within a month, I was able to increase the views and subscriber base 10 times! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about YouTube Advertising? There have been instances where the ad campaign didn't go as planned. We were pretty confident that our video was going to be approved, but then we got a notification saying the campaign was placed on hold. We weren't sure why. YouTube advertising might cost a lot if the advertising campaign is not set up properly. Sometimes running an ad campaign does not help in getting lots of views. The video might get stuck up in the approval stage, or worse still, new views will start coming in only when you raise the ad campaign to a high figure budget. Also you might attract the wrong viewers who do not care about the channel's target niche and might leave negative feedbacks or harm the channel's target user base. Be careful about which ads you set up. Just because you get a lot of views from a certain ad does not necessarily mean that it's the right ad for your channel. The ads in the upper left-hand corner are all purchased, and although they appear to be successful, they may not necessarily be what your viewers want or need. Running an ad campaign is not expensive at all if done well. You can get more views with less money invested than some channels do with a lot more money invested. After my channel had been dormant for so long, I knew I'd be starting from scratch with new content—even if it was the same quality as before. But with YouTube advertising , I was able to get eyes back on my channel within a matter of weeks. I started by making sure that all of my videos were tagged with relevant keywords and getting each video optimized for SEO on its own page with proper descriptions and appealing thumbnails. Then, instead of just relying on new uploads to bring in traffic, I used YouTube ads to make sure that my videos were appearing at the top of search results when people searched for terms related to my channel's content. That way, people who were already looking for related content were seeing my videos first—and my subscribership and monthly views shot back up! Ads aren't just good at getting more views; they're great at getting more subscribers too!
