**What problems is Goldpan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted to do a churn analysis of our Members and find out what factors went into their decision to leave. We wanted an outside set of eyes to do an analysis. By coming in as an impartial 3rd party, Goldpan were able to gather candid feedback through their interviews and their analysis helped us get the perspective that we were looking for.

**What do you like best about Goldpan?**

The information that came out of the analysis helped us validate our overall strategy, where to make improvements, where to find easy wins, and where to adjust for long-term wins

**What do you dislike about Goldpan?**

Of course they are an external team, so it takes a bit longer to get up to speed, however this was not necesarily a downside nor did it influence the outcome or overall performance of the project. Overall the collaboration was highly productive.

**Recommendations to others considering Goldpan:**

If you need an external team that is not tied to your company strategy or end-results, it'd be foolish to not consider Goldpan. They are an amazing team to work with, provide amazing insights with data and thought processes that one simply doesn't always consider, even with the larger internal team. The challenge is integrating the recommendation that comes out of the analysis or project that is delivered as a result. That outcome requires work and its up to the internal team and the willingness to do something with the budget that was spent, or let it go to waste.

Goldpan performed an analysis that helped show strengths and weaknesses of our product, product features, sales process, implementation, and how we play out against our competitors.

**What do you like best about Goldpan?**

They truly are a great win/loss partner. They're great communicators, offer amazing customer support, and they're very thoughtful with their processes. We were very new at our stage of win/loss as a business and the Goldpan team jumped right in and helped us implement a strong win/loss process from the ground up. They offer a Hubspot integration which was critical for us as a business because we live in Hubspot. A common concern I have with win/loss interviews in general is the quality of the insights, and with Goldpan, I haven't worried about that at all. They deliver quality work every single time and it's actionable data that you can't find in your CRM.

**What do you dislike about Goldpan?**

Goldpan was exactly the type of win/loss partner we were looking for. I haven't had a bad experience yet and don't plan on it either. I mean it when I say that they're a top-tier win/loss partner.

**What problems is Goldpan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Goldpan is giving us actionable insights about we why win and loss business. Their team reaches out to our recently won and lost deals to interview them for insights that our CRM can't provide. They work closely with us to identify segments or specific deals we'd like to go after, craft a strong interview guide, and then their team takes it from there. They have presented us with insights that have really opened our eyes as a buisness. Doing thorough win/loss analysis can be a full-time job for most marketing teams or product marketers, and since we're such a small team, it's always been something we've wanted to get around to, but never had the time. Luckily, we found Goldpan and their team acts like an extension of our team, consistelyn delivering the quality insights we need to make better bets as a business.

Goldpan team is super willing and flexible to adjust the plan as needed in order to make sure you are getting what you need from their analysis. I cannot stress how great they are in gathering your feedback to ensure they are doing what you need/want from their work.

I cannot say anything bad here. Even when some of the data gathered did not align with our primary goal, they were flexible to adjust the plan as needed to ensure we reached our goal after the project concludes.

**What do you like best about Goldpan?**

Procurement department buyers typically don't share much information about their process. We can get high-level reasons about why they chose us or why they went elsewhere. But often we're left with gaps in understanding. As a third party that is well trained in the art of getting to "why?", Goldpan helps us understand what we're doing well and what we can do better. Their call summaries offer a quick snapshot of actionable insights that we have used to help our AMs better understand what's working and what's not.

**What do you dislike about Goldpan?**

Golpdan's communication skills are excellent and it shows in their ability to bring interviewees to the table. I'd love to get all of our buyers to agree to an interview, but I am really pleased that Goldpan's been able to get more than 50% of interview candidates to have a conversation.

Goldpan has outstanding outreach capabilities that they leverage to book candidates for interviews. Sometimes it helps to have Goldpan tag-team with your salesforce to grab the full attention of candidates.

**What do you like best about Goldpan?**

Goldpan knows quantitative and qualitative research.  They expertly pull insights from our clients by thoughtfully understanding the themes we most want to delve into. They also leave plenty of room for unforeseen themes to materialize. After gathering insight data, they are able to piece together findings in a way that allows us to understand both short-term fixes as well as longer-term challenge areas. Their communication skills are outstanding and their insights are ranked in order of the most important to address.

**What do you dislike about Goldpan?**

As an organization, we want to get to solutions. Goldpan provides us with challenging areas to focus on and a deep understanding of what clients would like to be different. They don’t tell us how to fix the challenges (wouldn’t that be nice!!), but they certainly helped facilitate our group to build our own solutions, in part by sharing what other companies in similar scenarios are doing.

**What problems is Goldpan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have very good customer retention. That said, like any business, clients choose to leave. Often we have a decent handle on why but sometimes we either don’t really understand their reasoning, and/or what clients tell us might be quite different than why they actually left. We asked Goldpan to lean into whether departing clients wanted to see value earlier, and if so, what elements were most important. We can now adjust our product offering more astutely going forward.

**What do you like best about Goldpan?**

I wanted to try a win-loss analysis tool without having to spend time in countless meetings and weeks of implementation time. With Goldpan team I got up and running in days, and their communication is excellent — you get a weekly summary of the progress — short and to the point.

The team is doing a great job, nothing to complain about.

If you are unsure if win-loss analysis is something you want to invest time and money long term (spoiler alert, you should 100% do it) — work with the Goldpan team.

**What do you like best about Goldpan?**

I loved working alongside Goldpan and felt they were attentive, took the time to truly understand the objective, and I appreciated the quick turnaround. Goldpan was able to take our complex win-loss data and distill it into meaningful, actionable, and simple takeaways.  Hearing Goldpan’s win-loss findings in the voice of our prospects and clients was what really brought the data to life for me. Overall, we already had an inclination into the general challenges we sometimes face; however, the evidence presented, supporting previous hypotheses, made the results hard to dismiss.

**What do you dislike about Goldpan?**

There wasn’t much to dislike. The engagement was on time (8 weeks), we had touchpoints along the way, and the value was great. With this type of project, it surfaces areas to improve, and with that, change management comes into play. Navigating that is likely the most challenging element of Win/Loss. Goldpan offered to assist or lead these conversations, and the frequent touchpoints we had along the way allowed us to better prepare for the final results.

Goldpan provided external Win Loss analysis and buyer research into a core segment of our customers which allowed us to obtain unbiased and actionable insights

We win deals far more often than we lose them. However, when we lose deals, we often lose them to a set of core competitors. We know the impact will be significant if we can win even 10% more often against these vendors. 

Goldpan helped us understand the Primary reason(s) and was able to tie loss scenarios to prospects' experiences. By sharing quotes from their interviews and analytics, they could clearly illustrate why and how we lose deals. Going forward, we know how we can win more often.

By interviewing and surveying our lost prospects and customers, Goldpan was able to find common themes that showed exactly why prospects weren’t choosing us and where we could improve our total product offering. By sharing the Goldpan findings, we are on the road to improving some key selling motions.

**What do you dislike about Goldpan?**

I was only involved in the Results stage.  Their results presentation was excellent. It was very clear and actionable. I believe that we can improve our conversion rates using the Goldpan findings.

**Recommendations to others considering Goldpan:**

Goldpan did a superb job of showing how we both win and lose versus key competitors. We asked them to focus their research on scenarios where we lost against a specific competitor. That said, my understanding is that Goldpan can go broad or narrow with its data gathering.  You can ask them to tailor their research toward themes that are most relevant to you.

**What problems is Goldpan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A third-party opinion helps rally multiple disciplines towards a common goal.  When observations come from a well-respected, unbiased source, people and groups get less defensive.  Goldpan’s research will help us make progress against some potentially divisive challenges.

**What do you like best about Goldpan?**

Goldpan’s analysis is world class.  The team is comprised of software operators who know their stuff.  We didn’t get junior analysts or kids right out of college.  We worked with seasoned leaders interpreting the data from our prospects and customers.  

The Goldpan team was able to prioritize their insights into the top 3-4 things that we need to pay attention to.  Plus they were able to gather first insights in a matter of weeks!

Being in charge of our go-to-market motions, I needed to understand what my prospects most needed.  Goldpan brought information that I didn’t at all expect, which is proving invaluable.  I’m not sure what I’d change.

A trap in any business is to think you’re on path while not testing assumptions with buyers and customers. Goldpan’s buyer intelligence work allowed us to validate and double down on some directions, while forcing us to really question others.  The real problem Goldpan is helping to solve is recognizing when we are off-track so that we can deploy people to areas of greater opportunity. YOU MUST BE READY TO ACCEPT THE FACT THAT YOU WILL LEARN THINGS THAT DON"T LINE UP WITH YOUR INSIDE OUT VIEW OF THE MARKET AND BE READY TO CHANGE YOUR STRATEGY.

Goldpan interviewed and surveyed our prospects and clients in order to understand what they valued and what they didn’t value within our product.  Unexpectedly we also gained significant insights into where our market thinks we should go next.  Goldpan gathered hundreds of qualitative and quantitative data points which they collated into meaningful insights that we eagerly digested.  Looking forward to the next phase!

Goldpan quickly interviewed and surveyed our wins and our losses and was able to synthesize the findings clearly and concisely.  We now have 3 key initiatives that we are implementing over the next 2 quarters. I also liked Goldpan's presentation on client personas. It made it clear that realizing and understanding the differences in client groups across different markets is essential!

We now want to learn more about our other markets.  Now that we understand what to tweak with our pricing in one market, we want to rinse and repeat for others.  We would have liked to ingest all this information now, but the reality is that we have to implement it incrementally.  Wish we had more bandwidth!

Initially, we wanted to understand whether discounting helped to sell more deals, or whether it was just a legacy sales motion that we could do less often.  We learned that regardless of discounting, some buyers were never going to have the budget to purchase.  Further, we were offering discounts to buyers that didn’t need them. Moreso, we were spending too much time with these kinds of buyers.  Our time could be better used with buyers in the right budget bracket.  Lastly, we learned that the buyers who had budget constraints, weren’t defaulting to our competitors; they simply weren’t buying.  This realization helped us feel more comfortable walking away from them.

Goldpan was able to synthesize massive amounts of interview and survey feedback into clear, concise takeaways that helped tailor our subsequent sales enablement. Our market is very competitive.  Our goal with Goldpan was to identify 2-3 key messages that would help us stand out from the crowd.  Goldpan interviewed and surveyed hundreds of clients and hundreds of lost prospects.  Their analysis was easy to digest and easy to apply.

Goldpan was incredibly helpful.  They even gave a presentation to our sales leaders to help my team sell the message.  I wouldn’t ask for anything different from Goldpan.

We don’t have the time or bandwidth to deep dive with our buyers.  Our space is very crowded.  We believe we are the best choice but we need to arm our sales people with information to help us stand out. Goldpan interviewed and surveyed hundreds of buyers (both wins and losses) to gather data that helped us tune our sales enablement in ways that we could never have done by ourselves.

Goldpan expertly interviewed and surveyed our core buyers to build a picture of their buying behaviors quickly. Our time investment was minimal and we achieved results quickly.  The insights gathered are a significant portion of our focus for the next few quarters.

The only downside is that we haven’t explored more markets and buyers. Now that we have insight for our one of our geographic markets, we want to extend this exploration to additional markets and key buyer segments.

Goldpan is a very collaborative partner so the investment in time that you put in up-front with them to shape the purpose, scope and direction of the research pays off at the end as they go away and do (free you from) all the hard work and return with on-point insights and action recommendations.

**What problems is Goldpan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted to understand our core buyer as deeply as possible.  Goldpan interviewed and surveyed our core buyers, both wins and losses to construct a picture of why core buyers bought from us, why they walked away, where they found us, who they compared us to, what they liked and what they disliked about our offering.  We are incorporating Goldpan findings into our sales motions and anticipate a higher win rate with less discounting going forward.

We also needed to understand whether our discounting strategy resonated with our buyers. Goldpan quickly understood our target market to give us a sense for the elasticity of our discounting.  As a result, we dove deeper into our discounting strategy in order to optimize that part of our value proposition.  Further, Goldpan showed us what parts of our product could be enhanced in order to retain more of the buyers who walked away.

Goldpan was able to quickly understand the positive and negative themes from the many Win-Loss interviews they conducted.  Goldpan provided far more than just the interview transcripts; they provided detailed business analysis after reviewing the portfolio of interviews conducted.  The Goldpan team presented themes and specific points that we needed to improve upon, in addition to areas that were working well.  The themes were presented in a way that they were easy to action.

At first I was skeptical of their small track record.  However, I quickly realized that they are Win-Loss domain experts.  Plus, since the time that they worked with us, they have built their client roster significantly.

**Recommendations to others considering Goldpan:**

Goldpan’s time to first interview was very short and their ability to get prospects to the table was impressive.  Goldpan combed through our sales funnel to develop an interview and survey strategy that would uncover the voice of our buyers and lost prospects.  They worked independently and only needed the CRM data plus a light discovery session to get started.
Given our experience with them, we highly recommend them.

We wanted to understand how we could use our smaller, personal-use clients to help push our Enterprise business.  Goldpan was able to channel the voice of our personal users to give insight into how they use our product.  These insights are applicable to the Enterprise market that we are growing.  Goldpan findings gave us confidence that our personal market pedigree is a significant asset that can help sell Enterprise, especially from a usability perspective.

Goldpan was great to work with. They took the time to understand our business objectives, provided a recommended approach and truly listened to our feedback on the approach making it an extremely valuable exercise. Their findings are being used across all of our business units. We are about to engage on our second project with them because we were so satisfied with the insights they gleaned.

I am extremely pleased with the final results.  Perhaps, I would have liked more targeted findings at the interim stage.  However, Goldpan worked with us to optimize the questioning resulting in extremely insightful and impactful final results that helped us understand the challenges our buyers face.

We believe we have a stronger offering than our competitors but our space is extremely competitive. We engaged Goldpan to help us evaluate how our current messaging and sales process is resonating with prospects with the ultimate goal of making our sales team more effective. We needed to evaluate the sales messaging within our Partner channel.  Goldpan interviewed our partners to assess which go-to-market messaging was working and which needed adjustment.  The partner feedback showcased that we needed to highlight a second module of our product more confidently.  We had been debating our product marketing strategy for too long. Goldpan partner insights gave us the confidence to make changes.

We found Goldpan’s turnaround to be very fast relative to its peers. 

We always want feedback faster.

We were not sure if a key portion of our product resonated with our partners.  We now know what resonates.  Additionally, we gained comfort that we could offer a direct sales model in parallel with our partner channel efforts.

We discovered insights about the root cause of why our customers decided to churn and when they start to make their decisions. The insights they uncovered are more detailed than anything we have had before. As a third party, they were able to get churned customers to the table who did not want to talk to us directly. Goldpan's work has allowed us to take a more strategic view of customer success. The owners are very knowledgeable and have been a delight to work with.

Nothing I can think of. The team is easy to work with and it was worth the money to have a third party like Goldpan to do the work and analyze the data and trends for us.

I would highly recommend Goldpan to take on understanding your churn metric.

We wanted to get rolling, real-time insights from our lost prospects.  Goldpan people are experts at win-loss interviews.  They have honed their craft through countless interviews. They really did a superb job.  We will keep going forward with Goldpan interviews through the remainder of this year.  The trends we’ll see over the coming year will be invaluable.  We’ve only had a taste.

We had to close a number of deals simply because our prospects were non-responsive.  We’re unclear why they walked away given that their feedback appeared to be very positive.  We now have 2-3 key takeaways that should minimize the “ghosting” going forward.

**What do you like best about Goldpan?**

We needed quick results in order to have workable insights before our Sales Kick Off which was coming up quickly. Goldpan has an excellent system for reaching buyers, interviewing them, and analyzing the results quickly so we could get up and running on short notice which I appreciated. They presented their findings to our entire executive team, which helped us to rally behind the data and put it into action.

**What do you dislike about Goldpan?**

Can't think of any. It was such a great project all around.

**Recommendations to others considering Goldpan:**

I would highly recommend Goldpan for any win-loss project. They are quick, efficient, and so great to work with.

Goldpan gave us a detailed understanding of why we lose deals and what we could do better in the future. I brought them in because I wanted an outside perspective different from our internal sales, marketing, and product teams.

Goldpan was tasked with helping us determine which of two markets was best suited for our business.  Goldpan needed to understand our business, poll our stakeholders, and understand our client base in very short order to help guide us.

**What do you like best about Goldpan?**

I like how systematic Goldpan was in their approach.  They started with a concrete, efficient Discovery and followed with very targeted interviews which when brought together, showed the pros and cons of the options we had to choose between.  Their approach helped us make a decision and take action much faster than we otherwise would have been able to.

**What do you dislike about Goldpan?**

We would have liked to give Goldpan more runway to interview more of our clients.  However, our timeline dictated that we limit their exploration.

**What problems is Goldpan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had to choose between two very good directions, to enable focus for our sales, marketing and product efforts.  It was a good problem to have.  Without Goldpan though, we would have delayed our decision longer, thereby not optimising our efforts.

**What do you like best about Goldpan?**

We came to Goldpan asking for market feedback within 2 weeks. They easily delivered on time but more importantly, they validated a number of our market assumptions and also brought new, meaningful insights to the table. They are expert interviewers who have strong market research capabilities. They were able to mix interviews and survey capabilities and then consolidate findings succinctly in a very consumable, actionable, easy-to-understand format tailored to our specific ask. What I loved about working with Goldpan was that they combined both expert research capabilities while at the same time being flexible to our needs and requests, even as we modified the c=scope mid-flight. It was a true partnership.

**What do you dislike about Goldpan?**

I can't think of any. Goldpan was responsive to our aggressively short time frame, delivered quality and impactful insights, and was extremely flexible to work with.

**What problems is Goldpan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to understand what client & prospect decision-makers and influencers thought of product and service capabilities.  Goldpan was able to get to the heart of buyer insights to deliver tangible, actionable direction as to what buyers want.  We were able to gain confidence in our strategic decision-making and validate our research and discovery by working with Goldpan.

Goldpan delivered outstanding, actionable insights that we can use to sell more deals going forward.  I was incredibly impressed with how Goldpan uses a mixture of email, text and voice to convert our lost prospects into interviews.  Goldpan acts like a sophisticated SDR team to gather people willing to deliver feedback.

Goldpan has helped us understand both why we have lost specific opportunities as well as how we can leverage our current customers to bring larger deals through the door.

**What do you like best about Goldpan?**

I like that Goldpan is trustworthy and professional and can represent our company at both executive and manager levels.  They know the technology sector exceptionally well and, through experience, have figured out how to gain very meaningful insights.  We barely had to provide any guidance. Once they had our funnel data, they did all the legwork and leveraged their methodology to get the results.

**What do you dislike about Goldpan?**

We’re looking forward to the dashboard that Goldpan is building and using it in our next cycle with them.

**What problems is Goldpan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As we investigated ways to increase our deal size, Goldpan helped us to focus on challenges while gaining insights that can move the needle up-market.  There were both new insights as well as items that perhaps we had deprioritized but which are also important.  We’re confident that the Goldpan engagement will more than pay for itself.
