From building a simple CRM for my clients I have been able to build a producitivty app for them which really helos with my Unique Selling Proposition. Okay, first Glide's components and the back end are like magic they way to connect. If you understand excel and it's functions then the data side of things will be a breeze, secondly how easy it is to drag and drop on the page. I really like how simple all the building components are, the learning curve is not too steep, especially if you have some background in building websites or web apps. Launching an app was so simple and cost effective, for $60 a month, it really is a bargain for the price and scalability. If you go for the business plan you can do a TON with external integrations, custom CSS, API access, and so much more. **What do you dislike about Glide Classic?** Lack of progressive web app support from apple makes it hard to do some device specific things that full stack apps can do, which can be a bit annoying. Additionally, investors tend to react negatively in the startup world to a 'lowcode platform' because the power of these apps haven't been seen at scale yet. I think with time this is likely to change, these webapps are just as powerful as full stack applications and are 10x easier to build and deploy. **What problems is Glide Classic solving and how is that benefiting you?** In my startup it's allowed me to rapidly deploy an entirely functioning minimum viable product that's in the hands of real paying customers. I can use this platform to understand what value is being delivered well and what needs to change and I'm saving loads of cash by not having to pay for a full stack developer. And the advantages are many, I also really like being able to integrate various apps with it, and being able to customize with CSS, this advantage is huge. It is also quite easy to implement in any sector of the company, quickly, and increase the frequency of using Glide. To this day, I haven't needed to use Glide's customer support, but that doesn't mean it's bad, it's because the platform is very intuitive and efficient. **What do you dislike about Glide Classic?** The disadvantages of Glide are the cost for us Brazilians. The plans, with the dollar conversion, are quite high, but still, it's a great price in the no-code market. The benefit of using the app that was built with a purpose with the greatest ease and without causing problems is very good. The actual integrations are great but we ned more (integrate Make[create and scenario with mutiple api modules] inside of Glide) **What do you dislike about Glide Classic?** There are several things that need to be fixed or added: 1. we need to be able to select mutiplestuff on screen and copy & paste them easily with ctrl+c and ctrl+v. 2.when adding a new filter or adding a new if-and-then result we need a button to copy the same result that i just wanted to show. 3. Also we need better integrations with other databases (firebase, supabase, etc) and better payment integration (stripe, paypal, mercadopago, etc) 4. It reminds me of Framer. If you're a builder and enjoy building things, then you like to have good tools. That's what Glide is. The interface is FAST, even the apps you build are FAST (especially with Glide databases). The UI is attractive, it even has a DARK MODE which is such an underrated feature and I love the Glide team for having it. Now this stuff is all great, but the real magic happens when you start actually building something. If you can come into Glide with a slight notion of what you want to build, then you can probably make it happen. The app you build can build gorgeous, smooth, and feature-packed. I haven't yet found something I can't do without a simple workaround (which shows that the team focuses on simplicity and scalability, which I like.) Now I am incentivized to write this review (they offered me $25 for it,) but I would normally ignore that offer. The reason I took it is ever since I starting using Glide a week ago the thought of how good and how much I love Glide has been pinging around in my brain. Fair warning: "To the man with a hammer, everything looks like a nail." (Once you start using Glide, you'll want to implement it into everything that you do because it's so satisfying.) **What do you dislike about Glide Classic?** Biggest annoyance with Glide is organizing my databases. I know I could use Airtable, but I prefer to keep things lean, simple, and snappy. It would help to have column grouping since pretty quickly you end up with a bunch of columns which takes a lot of your focus to figure out what they do and what you need them for. The large panel of available integrations makes easy to implement E2E applications without the effort of understanding the counterpart integration details. The Support has also a good responsiveness. **What do you dislike about Glide Classic?** Being used to standard IT development approaches, Glide force to split business logic in different layers of the application, consequently the business logic is harder to maintain and evolve. The scalability to full operational environments is the biggest drawback at the moment. Glide is great till the POC, what to do afterwards ? Rebuild an operational grade application (basically from scratch) by using standard methods after the POC is vanifying the life-cycle effectiveness we got with Glide . In particular the integration with backend databases (Airtable and SQL-based), in spite of many user solicitations, has still some weaknesses (mainly about synch) which undermine any perspective of large scale use of the tool.
