"The Git GUI That Takes the Pain Out of Collaboration"
4/5
What do you like best about GitKraken Desktop?

One thing I've really come to appreciate is how smoothly GitKraken handles multiple repositories and worktrees. The integration with Git hosting services keeps pull requests and repository management convenient, and the overall responsiveness of the application makes day-to-day Git tasks feel much less cumbersome. Small quality-of-life features like quick repository switching and an organized layout have also improved my workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitKraken Desktop?

One area that could be improved is the performance when working with very large repositories, where the interface can occasionally feel less responsive. I'd also like to see more customization options for the commit graph and keyboard shortcuts, as that would make it even easier to tailor the workflow to individual preferences. "Intuitive Interface, Continuous Improvement"
4.5/5
What do you like best about GitKraken Desktop?

I like that the interface of GitKraken Desktop is new and has a well-designed and well-managed look and feel compared to other tools. It is very simple, nice, and very beautiful, which is a big advantage compared to all the other tools on the market. It is easier to perform operations with a modern and well-designed interface, which reflects high standards of a well-maintained product. I like that GitKraken Desktop follows a current standard where things are explained well and are carefully presented through the interface, making everything much simpler. Configuring it is very easy, even when I changed computers it was very quick and there is no need for strange configurations, it does everything automatically. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitKraken Desktop?

Perhaps the logging part and sometimes the error handling can be seen better, but it's a minor issue because you can still understand what's happening. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about GitKraken Desktop?

I've a savvy Git commandline user, however I like GitKraken for making my life easier in my day-to-day code review tasks.

It also helps my employees to learn Git commands, while doing things from GitKraken UI (it shows Git commands behind UI actions, so one could learn Git CLI mch faster) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitKraken Desktop?

* It might get quite slow on bigger repositories

* Pricing tiers a little bit confusing

* Inability to hide GitKraken Dashboard/Projects completely Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simplifies Git for Non-Developers"
5/5
What do you like best about GitKraken Desktop?

I really find GitKraken Desktop simple and easy to use, making sense even for someone who isn't a software developer. It's beginner-friendly and the interface helps me avoid using the terminal console, making it easier to understand various branches and perform tasks like pushing updates. It's intuitive for me as a designer and allows me to participate more in design systems and code reviews without having to learn complicated commands. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitKraken Desktop?

Some things that aren't really clear are just terminology that they use because it'll be different from things that are, like, in GitLab or GitHub. Just terminology that doesn't align. I think if it were more maybe industry standard, that would be a little bit more helpful because not everybody knows all the terminology. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"GitKraken Review: A Powerful Git GUI for Streamlined Development"
5/5
What do you like best about GitKraken Desktop?

What I like best about GitKraken Desktop is how easy it makes using Git, especially for visualizing branches and commits. The interface is clean and intuitive, which makes it easy to understand complex version control workflows. I also love how it integrates with GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket, making it easy to manage repositories from one place Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitKraken Desktop?

What I dislike about GitKraken Desktop is that it can be a bit resource-heavy, especially when working with large repositories. Sometimes it feels slower when there are a lot of commits or branches to load. Also, while the free version is great, some advanced features are locked behind the paid version. "Powerful Git Client Powerful Git Client for visual version control and team collaboration"
5/5
What do you like best about GitKraken Desktop?

GitKraken Desktop stands out as a cross-platform graphical Git client that combines a clean, intuitive interface with robust functionality.

The visual commit graph is particularly effective for understanding project history and branch structure, making it much easier to track changes and resolve merge conflicts. Key features include:

• Visual Commit Graph: The interface provides a clear, interactive map of repository history, simplifying branch management, merges, and rebases. This visualization is especially helpful for quickly identifying the impact of each commit and understanding complex workflows.

• Integrated Terminal: The built-in terminal allows for direct command-line operations without leaving the application, catering to both GUI-focused and command-line users.

• AI-Powered Workflow Enhancements: AI capabilities are embedded to summarize commit histories and generate commit messages, which accelerates routine tasks and reduces cognitive load.

• Launchpad and Workspaces: The Launchpad centralizes issues, pull requests, and work-in-progress items, providing a dashboard to prioritize and act on tasks efficiently. Workspaces enable focused, context-aware development sessions.

• Collaboration Tools: Real-time visibility into team activity, pull requests, and code reviews streamlines collaboration and reduces bottlenecks in the review process.

• Seamless Integrations: GitKraken Desktop integrates with major Git hosting providers and issue tracking tools, reducing the need for context switching and supporting a smoother workflow.

• Cross-Platform Support: Installation is straightforward on Windows, macOS, and Linux, with dedicated installers and official support for major distributions.

• No External Git Required: The application comes bundled with all necessary Git tools, so there’s no need for separate command-line installations unless advanced features are needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitKraken Desktop?

Nothing negative to report or that I don't like because the team, if a bug arises, is very quick to fix it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
