## Google Cloud Source Repositories Reviews
  ### 1. Gco

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Source Repositories?**

Data privacy and confidentiality is ensured with end-to-end data encryption with CloudKMS giving organizations the confidence to share and manage the data freely. The services are ever-evolving and incorporate the changes in the dynamic data space. Its suitability for small and large businesses alike makes it attractive to all. The data processing and analysis technology are really forward. You can get tangible insights for makring important business decisions.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Source Repositories?**

As the platform is very dynamic and vast, mastering the platform to the T can be a task. You require to be constantly keeping yourself updated with all the latest improvements. Though the services are vast and varied, it's facing competition with some of the best players in the market whose offerings are even more diverse. The user interface of the platform is not most friendly. It can get a little confusing while navigating the space.

**What problems is Google Cloud Source Repositories solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Specially in design of GUI part of apps i am using these. With these repositories almost 50 percent headache of creation removes from our head. Any one can import these repositories in there code so they have to focus on only critical part of code. These are really fantastic which not only save time though have great features which are dificult to create our own so we have to just focus on core part of code. Thats why i really like these repositories which not only save my time but also increase the speed of developing and these can be run wherever you are.

  ### 2. Review for GCS and colab.research.google.com for accessing GPU to deal with large datasets

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pallavi C. | Sr Data Analyst II, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Source Repositories?**

GCS:
1. Different support for file systems such as .csv, parquet.
2. One-button click support for access to delete files or upload files, create partitions.
3. Restrictive access on Read/Write.
4. Easy partitioning through scripts as well.
5. File can be uploaded or downloaded through the python notebook

colab.research.google.com
1. No need for in-hub processing cores.
2. It provides a GPU processing unit/time that can take millions of data and unlike normal jupyter notebook Python kernel can handle that.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Source Repositories?**

GCS:
1. The one-button deletion and upload is little slow. One has to wait for a couple of seconds to delete one file. And if deleting partitions manually through a button, then one has to wait for a longer period of time.

colab.research.google.com
1. Although this is made to overcome the processing time and kernel issues of not handling very large datasets. Still, it is very slow and sometimes crashes or takes more than 3 hours(have to be patient if dealing with historical data of 6 months and more).
2. Need sufficient internet speed.

**Recommendations to others considering Google Cloud Source Repositories:**

I recommend to use GCS if someone is starting a business or start-up.

**What problems is Google Cloud Source Repositories solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use GCS for storing our data sets in a file format system. We dump all our files through automated scripts and use them for running experiments as well as reporting.

  ### 3. Great product for version control

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joy M. | Associate System Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Source Repositories?**

I think the best thing about the product is the ease with which a person can start from the basics and learn all the advanced concepts on the repos in a short span of time and master it.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Source Repositories?**

I think the least favorite thing about the product listed above is the pricing of the storage done using the repos which according to me for an enterprise-level project should have been done in a more professional manner with heavy discounts to attract more customers

**Recommendations to others considering Google Cloud Source Repositories:**

I would strongly recommend to the upcoming tech companies to start adapting to cloud methodologies for development as well as for code versioning and hosting purposes because that is the future that we are moving forward to and I think that google cloud source repositories would play a very major role in helping us shape the same.

**What problems is Google Cloud Source Repositories solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems that we are solving by using the google cloud source repositories are mainly for version controlling the code before pushing the entire thing into production for unit testing and short term storage purpose we have a motive to store the code hereafter which once the user acceptance is successfully completed the code is again replicated and shifted to other version control platforms just because of the pricing problem with the platform rest all is good.

  ### 4. I like a lot google cloud repositories in my apps creation because these empower fantastic design.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Er R S. | Managing Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Source Repositories?**

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Source Repositories?**

I have caught nothing at all until this point.

**What problems is Google Cloud Source Repositories solving and how is that benefiting you?**

App development coding has been done by me on this platform so that whenever I am stuck, with can get the help of my mentor by sharing links enough, and he also gets help because of its compilation environment. They can run too after modification for check purposes.

  ### 5. Good Source Repository

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hunter O. | Supervisor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Source Repositories?**

I think that the Google Cloud Source Repositories is a great piece of software that is very good at helping out our company. It is something that I would use all of the time if we can. It is a pretty good piece of work and I think that it does have some quirks, but looking past those, you will get a good quality product.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Source Repositories?**

Honestly, there is not much to dislike about this product. There are many things that do have their quirks and don't work the exact way that you would think, but overall, if you have a basic idea of what it is that you are doing, then you will see that it is good. There is some sort of lack of documentation that I do not like, so it can be confusing at times. But if you have the help from someone else for this then you will be fine!

**Recommendations to others considering Google Cloud Source Repositories:**

If you are considering this, then you should do it!

**What problems is Google Cloud Source Repositories solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is helping solve many problems that we encounter at our company. I think one of the things that it helps with the most, more so than other things, is just keeping all of our work in one place that is being easily managed for all of us to see and use. It makes it so you don't have to move a lot to get to different parts of what you need, so it is nice to have all of what you need there.

  ### 6. Google Wins at Simplicity and Productivity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bret M. | Director of Product, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Source Repositories?**

It's fool-proof and it just makes sense to have the platform contain the CI/CD components.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Source Repositories?**

Honestly I wish there was an initial template plug-and-play option. If I had to guess I would say 99% of all users of Google Cloud Source Repositories are doing the same thing.

**What problems is Google Cloud Source Repositories solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing permissions around code is complex. Most dev teams will routinely need to allow outside access. Google Cloud Source Repositories allows me to manage these permissions from one place, which is the biggest complexity and risk to code access. This is a huge and understated value.

Each project on Google's Cloud Platform has a Cloud Source Repository, which can be accessed and used by multiple users. It is good tool to share project codes and management.

It works exactly like you'd expect it to. It uses git, and is easily operated through the cloud sdk cli. You can push/pull/update code just like you'd do through GitHub and just as easily create branches and manage project versioning.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Source Repositories?**
