My favorite part about using Gain is the ability to pull financials on private companies and have the sources included directly in the Excel file. This is a big improvement over other applications that provide private market data but don’t include the underlying source, which makes the information essentially unusable if you can’t track it down on your own. The most frustrating thing about Gain, in my view, is the lack of private market data for US companies. It’s definitely useful when I’m pulling information for many European companies, but it would be much better if there were more usable data for US-based private companies as well—especially data that isn’t just AI estimates. What I like most about Gain.Pro is its intuitive, user-friendly interface, paired with the depth and structure of the information it provides. The platform makes it straightforward to move through company profiles, quickly grasp business models and key financials, and find relevant market and industry insights all in one place. I especially appreciate how efficiently everything is organized, because it helps me spot the most important data points and build a comprehensive view of a company without spending a lot of time jumping between multiple sources. I like how clean Gain's interface is and how easy it is to gather information about a companies private equity backing/ acquisition history. I also enjoyed using the prompts to find for example field service private equity backed companies it made it easy to comb through companies I may have missed on personal linkedin searches. I like how Gain is super easy to use with its great UX and pretty accurate data. It's cool that they're aiming to be more forward-looking, rather than just focusing on historical data. I find it to be a really powerful research tool that helps us stay proactive, especially with its good intel and leading data about private equity deals. The deal intel is kind of hit or miss, especially in the US market. There isn't a ton of information, and we're working on deals that aren't reflected as live or in process on Gain. It would be really useful to build that out more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Lacks maturity of research and fund data vs incumbents like Pitchbook. Some companies have changed names but not yet reflected on Gain which makes it harder sometimes to find them. Some portco profiles of well known PE firms are still not fully built out. I know that Gain was primarily a UK/EU based company and has recently began expanding into the North American market. I use Gain to find out about companies and get a basic understanding of them. I like that it's very user-friendly and does what it's supposed to do very well. Having everything in one place is really useful, as it saves me a lot of time. Previously, I had to check several different sources for information, which was time-consuming. Now, I find financials, news, and valuations all in one place. The setup was easy for me because our IT team handled it, and I just pressed the button to get in. Some of the information is more hidden than others which requires me to dig for it. Moreover, it is a european focused platform, yet our needs are largely US. At times I can tell that difference in depth from the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

UI is very intuitive, though not as interconnected as some competitors. Ease of use is very good, as are the AI integrations and things like revenue estimates.
