We have a drop-down menu to code for different sorts of absences (like going to a training, as opposed to the dentist) **What do you dislike about Frontline Absence & Time?** I can't think of anything. It works just like it should! It's not like you have to read any directions because it's very intuitive. **What problems is Frontline Absence & Time solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps keep us organized because if you suddenly can't remember if you applied to take the day off or not, you can check back to see. There are boxes to fill in notes for your administrators. It has a job number for substitutes. ### 2. It has a simple interface, and I can gather the info I need quickly. As a building principal, I appreciate how frontline communicates with me. I know who is absent the next day and if that person is covered or not. That is a massive time saver in the morning when you see what you are walking into that morning. **What do you dislike about Frontline Absence & Time?** There isn't much to dislike here. There is no connection to any substitute services. That would be quite a benefit to have the two groups communicating automatically behind the scenes so coverages can occur before notification of absences that need to be covered. **What problems is Frontline Absence & Time solving and how is that benefiting you?** The organization of personnel is critical, especially when dealing with young children who need supetvised. Frontline helps by keeping personnel and administration in the loop of communication. We know who to expect there the next day and who needs to be covered. There is also a section that keeps track of your balance of days used. ### 5. To the best of my knowledge, once a teacher has put in for an absence, subs have the ability to review and opt into jobs to cover absences. **What do you dislike about Frontline Absence & Time?** From the user side, you cannot see if people have opened the documents that have been uploaded for teacher absence, specifically lesson plans or seating charts. **Recommendations to others considering Frontline Absence & Time:** Admins from the distrit should consider making notices automatic for approvals or coverage through the system. **What problems is Frontline Absence & Time solving and how is that benefiting you?** Absence and time management through Frontline Is supposed to ensure that the tracking of absences is quick and efficient, and that all people who need to know about an absence are on the same page in a reasonable amount of time. ### 6. I like that you can have a list of preferred subs and change that very easily. I also like that you can attach sub plans to each date that you are entering. **What do you dislike about Frontline Absence & Time?** Although you can attach sub plans, it would be much easier if there was more space for text within the platform. There is a very small character limit for typing instructions. I can log in anywhere, even from home to review my time off and see if it has been approved. I can plan ahead for trips that I need to take by requesting time off early, or I can request a sick day by putting in my request the night before. **What do you dislike about Frontline Absence & Time?** There are times when I can not log in to process my time off. I am also required to change my log in codes fairly often which makes it hard to remember. **Recommendations to others considering Frontline Absence & Time:** Frontline is a great way to keep track of time off and approvals for both sick time and vacation time. It benefits both the employee and the employer in it's organization and ease of use. **What problems is Frontline Absence & Time solving and how is that benefiting you?** I can log my time from anywhere online, I do not have to be at work to submit my time off request.I can request vacation time far in advance and will be alerted when the time off is approved. ### 16. Adding absent days as an employee is effortless and the system very easy to navigate and review future or past absences. Balances left is now readily accessible and now finding or accessing certain substitute details are easy with the ability to request certain people, or restrict them from filling in for you. **What do you dislike about Frontline Absence & Time?** The only downside, is the file size allotted to upload attachments or materials for the person replacing you is really small. Unless this has been changed, the max file size was basically roughly a 1 page word document. It would be nice if this capacity was increased to allow more details or materials to be added. **Recommendations to others considering Frontline Absence & Time:** Great software and with work on the mobile side still improving is invaluable now to our school system! The software makes it simple to select the day you'll be out and your schedule. There is an option to attach a document with substitute plans. Once a substitute has been found, the system automatically sends an e-mail letting you know. **What do you dislike about Frontline Absence & Time?** At times, the system was a little buggy and wouldn't let me log in with my password, so I would have to get it reset. I also wish it had better integration with Google Docs, since most of my sub plans were written using Google Docs and I had to take the extra step of downloading it as a Word document to attach it to Frontline. **Recommendations to others considering Frontline Absence & Time:** Go for it -- the software will make your teachers happier and more productive because they can easily request substitutes. **What problems is Frontline Absence & Time solving and how is that benefiting you?** As a teacher, you already have a million things to do, and Frontline makes the process of asking for a sub quick and easy to allow you to focus on other things. ### 19. I can pick the date that I am absent on a calendar and state if it is a whole or half day needed. I can also state if a substitute teacher is needed. It is also easy to see when the absence is picked up by a substitute teacher and I get a notification using the app on my phone that tells me this information. **What do you dislike about Frontline Absence & Time?** I think that the desktop version is more complicated than the app that can be downloaded on my phone. The application goes through it step by step and it is organized. The desktop version has a lot of portions to fill in on the same screen instead of in step by step portions. **Recommendations to others considering Frontline Absence & Time:** I believe that this is a good software program. There are many different views, which can be confusing for users who are not as technology savvy. It makes it easy to track your hours. Also reporting an absence is super easy since all you have to do is click "report / schedule absence". **What do you dislike about Frontline Absence & Time?** The app is finicky, repeatedly signs me out, and requires me to sign in every time. The fingerprint auth does not work. It also requires me to be on my company's wifi to "clock in". This is annoying because I have to sign in not only to Frontline, but to my company's wifi. It is a huge waste of time. First, I have to sign into my company's wifi which takes at least 1-2 minutes to connect, and then sign into the frontline app to clock in which takes another minute or so. 3 minutes wasted that I could have been putting away my lunch and coat rather than signing in. **What problems is Frontline Absence & Time solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have worked for companies that worked on an honor-based system. This company I am currently working for used to require us to fill out paper time sheets, but now we are using Frontline.
