Whenever a suspicious file shows up, it’s automatically sent to FortiSandbox, and the verdict comes back quickly. If it’s malicious, FortiClient immediately blocks it and updates its signatures, it’s closed several gaps we used to worry about. **What do you dislike about FortiSandbox?** The main drawback I’ve noticed is the occasional delay during peak load. When multiple suspicious files come in at once, analysis can take a bit longer, which slightly slows down our incident triage. FortiClient silently sends unknown files to FortiSandbox in the background, and we don’t have to babysit it. Once we tuned the policies, it’s been running reliably without slowing down users, which is a big plus for productivity. **What do you dislike about FortiSandbox?** It can be resource-hungry. We had to allocate more hardware than initially expected to keep the performance smooth, especially with FortiClient endpoints constantly sending samples. Once scaled properly it’s fine, but the upfront sizing needs careful planning. **What problems is FortiSandbox solving and how is that benefiting you?** Before deploying it, we were constantly dealing with suspicious attachments slipping through email and reaching endpoints. The AV Engine is good but our forti-gates are essentially doing that task already. **Recommendations to others considering FortiSandbox:** Do not rely on Forti-Sandbox for security. Its behavioral based malware detection do not work. Moderately sophisticated malware easily escapes and I need to use other means and third party services. In addition the IOCs/Report generated is absolutely awful to work with.. free services provide much better searching and IOC reports than our $50k fortisandbox.. **What problems is FortiSandbox solving and how is that benefiting you?** Ability to identify unknown malware. Unfortunately this just does not work well at all. We have instead moved to using the Forti-Sandbox as a glorified user sandbox for our helpdesk so they can review suspicious files and emails within isolated environment. ### 13. Big enough to need one but probably not the size sandbox we purchased. I think they need a more scalable platform. so it can meet the needs of all size businesses. **Recommendations to others considering FortiSandbox:** The cooperative fabric is where you get the most out of Sandbox. We use Fortimail, Forticlient and the fortigates. We send from all products to the sandbox. **What problems is FortiSandbox solving and how is that benefiting you?** The main problem we were having Is that our AV wasn't catching everything coming through email. Now we send most attachments to the sandbox and it opens them and now not much malware/viruses get to our clients. ### 22.
