# Which PIM systems let merchandisers fix product data themselves without a developer touching the catalogue?

<p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Hi G2 reviewers, which<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/categories/product-information-management-pim"> </a><a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/categories/product-information-management-pim">PIM</a> systems do merchandisers genuinely maintain themselves? The test of a PIM is not go-live. It is Tuesday afternoon, when a description is wrong on four hundred SKUs and the person who noticed cannot fix it.</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Three G2 reviewers point to:</p><ul>

<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/plytix-cloud-pim-dam/reviews"><strong>Plytix Cloud PIM &amp; DAM</strong></a> is best known for being picked up quickly by teams with no prior PIM, with reviewers describing adoption from day one. Its gap is product-level access control, so restricting users to specific product groups is not yet possible.</li>

<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/sales-layer-pim-2025-04-09/reviews"><strong>Sales Layer PIM</strong></a> is well rated by mid-market teams and sits in both PIM and catalogue management.</li>

&lt;p&gt;I’d want to know where self-service editing stops. Bulk attribute updates and descriptions may be easy for merchandisers, but taxonomy changes, permissions, and channel-specific rules are probably where IT gets pulled back in.&lt;/p&gt;
