**What do you like best about Foothold?**

Customer service is the best. And they stay on the cutting edge to make AWARDS one of the most versatile HMIS tools available. The system is user friendly for both the user and those of us who administer the tool on a daily basis.

**What do you dislike about Foothold?**

The design of the bed inventory is complicated and difficult to manage. I understand that it is the design required by the federal agency, but it is tedious to update the inventory changes.

**What problems is Foothold solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It stores the data collected from the population being served in a user-friendly manner and Foothold facilitates the completion of customized and other reports required by the funding program.

**What do you like best about Foothold?**

The best part is that we customize it according to our needs with the support of Footholds team. There is a learning curve for some features the collaborative effort from the Foothold.

**What do you dislike about Foothold?**

Foothold provides customization options there are areas where improvements are needed. The service planning module is better. The electronic signature process for consumers also requires improvement. The support provided is helpful. There is room for enhancement.

**What problems is Foothold solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Foothold has solved the problems of managing FHCRC Awards for us. It has simplified the process making tracking and reporting on awards easier. This has saved us time. Improved accuracy, in managing grant funding.

Foothold has a user system that guides us through each step ensuring that we complete tasks such, as progress notes and referrals.

The support provides by Foothold is helpful there are times when it feels necessary to ask questions to ensure vetting.

Foothold solves the problem of managing awards and recognition at our business. This platform is easy to use and  making it good in monitoring and organizing our award programs.

**What do you like best about Foothold?**

The most helpful aspect of Foothold is the services they provide.  I was new and my coach Erin is excellent.  The training team Natalie and Chris are awesome.  When I have a situation that I cannot handle the help desk is great.  They are quick to respond to help with any issues we are having.

**What do you dislike about Foothold?**

The old setup of the system was somewhat hard for the end users and me to navigate through.  It was kind of disjointed.   I would also like to see a system that takes the users through the workflow and shows when they have completed each step of their workflow to have a complete record.  I envision a system that would take them from intake to completion and show them when they have done everything.  Ensuring that they have completed every step such as progress notes, referrals, etc.  
I love the can reports but am challenged when building other reports that are relevant to our agency's needs.  It would be good to simplify the report building process.  When an agency is heavily dependent on Data, it would be great to be able to pull accurate reports for the time frame selected.  Sometimes the information included in the report is for additional dates.

**What problems is Foothold solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It seems that Foothold is moving forward with the enhancements that make using the system easier for the users.   I have received emails from our system users that state they are thrilled with the new enhancements Foothold is doing.  Great Job.  I can't wait to see the completion of the upgrade.

**What do you like best about Foothold?**

Our implementation team has been great and very responsive.  They are always open to ideas we have to make AWARDS better.  It's a very simple and straight forward design that is easy to use and modify.

**What do you dislike about Foothold?**

Finding reports I've created is challenging. It takes so many menus to find them I've had to recreate some I've lost.  The reporting organization is just messy in general.  Additionally, sometimes it is hard to navigate out of a  sub-screen back to a previous screen without going back through a screen you've just filled in.

**What problems is Foothold solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've been told that they are looking into ways to use less clicks to get places, which will make the application easier to use. I know they are constantly listening to the customers and taking their feedback seriously.

**What do you like best about Foothold?**

This system is easy to use, it provides us with tools that help staff document services more efficiently and accurately, it provides us with a configurable solution for each of the programs, including connecting all the specialists involved in the care of their clients, including laboratories, pharmacies and collaborators.

**What do you dislike about Foothold?**

Although it is software that is easy to use and beneficial, it has a very high price and is not accessible to small organizations that are in development, it does not contain a free version or free trial. It is only translated into a single language at the moment.

**What problems is Foothold solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a human services software that helps us transform the way we provide care based on the experience that the platform offers us, it offers complete functionality for case management, client follow-up, treatment planning and management of homeless information.

**What do you like best about Foothold?**

1.	We have realized greater efficiencies with data collection for the use of analytics and reporting for current needs internal and external to the agency but also in preparation for changes in the service system and greater need for quantitative demonstrations of successful program and service delivery. We have greater flexibility for documentation of service provision as it can be completed from multiple locations on an agency computer. We have utilized AWARDS for a portion of our billing.
2.	I appreciate the ease of use with AWARDS, it has kept up with the changes in regulatory systems over our years of using the software. We have been able to create forms that meet our specific needs or preferences. The system has online support, is linked to reference materials for medications and is evolving to add new services. All of our employees use the system, support departments, facilities and IT, OPWDD, OMH, PROS and OASAS programs. The report module has assisted our Directors to collect data for data-driven programmatic decisions and is especially helpful.
3. All of our programs have transitioned to or are in the process of transitioning to Plans and Reviews from the Service Plans. The Plans and Reviews provide an opportunity to modify the forms, layout, look and sections so that it works for several regulatory agencies. It is easy to make these adjustments and the final product is much easier to complete compared to the earlier Service Plan process. We have also recently adjusted the OASAS Comprehensive Assessment and are very pleased with the results and efficiencies have the form built into the admission process.

**What do you dislike about Foothold?**

I would like to be able to sort messages for incident report-related messages. I still have to sort through them to read Alerts, but don't read the minor incident updates.

**What problems is Foothold solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Medicaid billing efficiencies are, once fully functional, eliminating the need for manual data entry for billing. This has created efficiencies and increased productivity.

**What do you like best about Foothold?**

We like the flexibility of the system, customizable reports and exports to fit a wide variety of needs and allow access to nearly all data fields.  We love the ability to create billing rules to satisfy various payer and state requirements to streamline the billing operation for our staff.  We also enjoy the ease to write group notes on multiple participants at the same time without having to jump in and out of various screens to do so.   We also rely on the various residential aspects of the system which help to run our residential programs, keep track of vacancies, allow reporting on occupancy levels, and more.

**What do you dislike about Foothold?**

A dated interface still exists on some screens, but that is slowly changing to a more modern interface.  A more modern dashboard interface would be nice to quickly view unsigned notes, due plans, etc. by therapists as soon as they log in.

**Recommendations to others considering Foothold:**

Be sure to purchase BillingBuilder as it will greatly streamline your billing process.

**What problems is Foothold solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They allow us to run a streamlined billing operation by using billing rules to generate claims based on clinician notes.  We don't need to waste time generating claims one at a time which means our agency can focus on good documentation instead of manually working with claims.  The system also allows quick posting of remittance files, fairly easy to send COB claims to the second payer, and more.  The group notes are also liked for their efficiency compared to some other systems we have evaluated.  Clinicians can document the entire group session on one screen including entering the individual addendums without having to click multiple options or save multiple times.  We can also easily document whether a participant of the group arrived late or left early while writing the group note.  The ability to document group co-leaders allows us to keep our client-to-staff ratio in compliance for larger groups.

Pretty much everything in Foothold is intuitive.   I love how easy it is to create a form, create and run a report and the assistance you receive from the staff.

**What do you dislike about Foothold?**

Our state's ID residential's billing system is ridiculously difficult and at this time we have to complete a work around to bill, but Foothold is working on this.

**Recommendations to others considering Foothold:**

As I tell all the agencies that ask about Foothold, listen to your Foothold Programmer, not only do they know their EHR inside and out, but they also have fantastic and out of the box ideas to do things that make your documentation needs and systems work better.    This is the third EHR that I have used in two companies and I find Foothold to be the easiest and most intuitive to use.

Multiple programs in our agency are now all using the correct forms for facilities and people supported.   We can look at what staff are doing, by running reports at any time.

Our agency went from pen to paper in most of our programs to FH. The training for our implementation team as well as for our entire staff made the process much more seamless than expected. The ongoing training and support have been wonderful. We continue to feel like we are streamlining documentation as well as capturing better data in addition to being able to complete required reports with greater ease.

**What do you dislike about Foothold?**

We have a consumer-directed home care program and wished we could have used FH as our EVV vendor. We also have a small community hab program and the cost of the EVV is negatively impactful to the small program.

**What problems is Foothold solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a very diverse organization so the ability to customize programs is very beneficial. We also have the ability to run reports and provide up-the-minute data as requested by our funders and grant writers.

We are especially pleased that AWARDS not only supports set up and training of staff on the system, but provides us with a long term, ongoing support specialist who continues to help us make the best use of the system in our work. Foothold Technology is not a transactional enterprise, they are a real partner in human services!

We have had some challenges with the interface of third party platforms like e-prescribe within the system.

AWARDS is an easy to use, comprehensive tool designed for human services organizations. We spent years researching options and carefully considering the move from paper to digital, and finally selected AWARDS. AWARDS allows us to be able to document the services we provide our consumers in real time. The program is user friendly and intuitive allowing staff to focus more on the interventions they are providing than figuring out how to work the platform. I've been a user of AWARDS for nearly 8 years and appreciate it's usability for folks at all levels of the agency (i.e. documentating services to pulling large swaths of data for analysis at an administrative level.)
Working with the Foothold team (at all levels of the organization) is one of the major bonuses of this software.

Our organization has been using Foothold for over 10 years.  The implementation was simple and streamlined and the staff provided plenty of training and support. The ongoing communication with Foothold has been great.   It is easy to contact someone with all of your questions.  The system is user-friendly and intuitive and our staff are satisfied with the product.  
I like that Foothold understands the needs of mental health organizations so well.  All of our documentation needs are met in Foothold.

**What do you dislike about Foothold?**

Everything is customizable, so there isn't anything that I have disliked that I haven't been able to fix or adjust with Foothold support or on my own.
I do wish that Foothold had the capacity to print the entire record with one button.  Currently, you have to run separate reports or print out documents individually.

**What problems is Foothold solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Foothold was our solution to reducing paper medical records.  We wanted a product that was tailored to the mental health field and was customizable to our specific needs.  We wanted something that was affordable and easy to use.

**What do you like best about Foothold?**

The documentation, auditing and compliance features have been a great asset. Foothold regularly updates its functionality. They are currently updating their user interphase, and are doing an awesome job in soliciting user feedback. Their report builder tools and form builder tools have also been a great asset to our organization.  We have also been able to maximize billing with their Billing builder module. Their training department is very good, with many free training sessions on their various modules, new features, etc.

**What do you dislike about Foothold?**

Some functions require much data entry, and this can be cumbersome. The billing builder functionality has a very large learning curve, and Foothold limits some functions to very few users such as Form Builder. Configuring Billing Builder, and completing scheduling can also be very cumbersome.

**What problems is Foothold solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are enhancing some difficult-to-use modules, such as their service planning module. They are planning and starting to implement new user interphase that will make the design more attractive and are also enhancing many of their functions for more efficient use. One area that will continue to need improvement is the electronic signature of consumers, who sign outside the prescribed user protocol, ie use of a pin. they are also enhancing their Multi-factor authentication system, which will be helpful in meeting our security needs.

**What do you like best about Foothold?**

This is a review is specifically about the module in awards that designed to support responses to the New York State office of mental health patient characteristics survey, which takes place every 2 years.

The PCS module in AWARDS, the detailed instructions, the clear indication of where the module pulls data from, and the detailed optional face sheet fields, which include sexual orientation, gender identity, pronouns, and preferred name, all made the process as close to painless as is probably humanly possible.
 
I have been doing this work for 20 years and I remember the days when we had to page through handwritten attendance lists to count up who had attended the program, on what days, and all the rest of the demographic data that we had to compile. Then we had to enter that data by hand into an OMH web portal, one client at a time. 
 
I used to dream of a day when I could push a button and just upload the data, taking advantage of all the detailed knowledge that my database already possesses. Thanks to the staff of Foothold, that day has arrived.

A big advantage with this product is that you can design and revise your own forms and reports. You don't need the staff to do that for you.

The PCS process is a lot more efficient than it was before we started using foothold.

**What do you like best about Foothold?**

The system itself continues to evolve, which is very helpful; and the staff assigned to our organization (Erin M.) is a rock star! She is always helpful and can always find the answer we need. She has a keen understanding of what we're trying to get out of the system and is very creative about finding ways to help us do what we need to do.

**What do you dislike about Foothold?**

I'm not sure if my "dislike" is system-related.  On the front end (the pitch), promises were made by your salespeople that the system just plain couldn't do. This, along with our implementation occurring parallel to the pandemic, led to some serious frustrations. I don't believe our concerns were handled well by Foothold. We were asked to participate in a zoom meeting and have our concerns prepared to discuss, but we never really got to any of the real concerns. It was more like a meeting where we were being "handled" and that didn't sit well with our team at all.  In the end, it all worked out and we ended up with Erin M., who has been terrific in all aspects of implementation.

**Recommendations to others considering Foothold:**

Give it thorough vetting and ask as many questions as possible.

**What problems is Foothold solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving the problem of having to do everything on paper, and we are fulfilling one of the requirements of being a Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP).  We are starting to realize the benefits of an electronic health record in that our billing is getting more streamlined, and our quality assurance efforts are now much more manageable and less tedious.

The ability to run reports to get critical information quickly.  Aggregating data and reporting to agency stakeholders on benchmark achievements.  Based on results, can identify staff training opportunities to improve on data documentation for continued benchmark achievement success.

**What do you dislike about Foothold?**

Although the Foothold Technology team is receptive and collaborative, not having the ability to continue to modify the incident module to suit the needs of capturing incident reports with the NJ State requirements limits our abilities to house all information in one system, up to and including incident reports to identify incident trends.

**What problems is Foothold solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The agency has three different governing entities, each with standards and regulations: NJ Office of Licensing, Medicaid, and Council on Accreditation. 
The AWARDS program allows the agency to configure modules to meet these needs and set reminders in the message module to ensure effective and efficient communication is occurring for key staff overseeing compliance.

**What do you like best about Foothold?**

We use Foothold AWARDS for our statewide Homeless Manage Information System (HMIS).  This national data collection system is required by federal funders who provide assistance for providers working to prevent or end homelessness. The data collection and reporting requirements are numerous and change regularly.  Foothold consistently goes above and beyond the bare minimum required by the Feds and has developed a robust and precise HMIS system. 
What is probably most impressive is the attention to customer service in terms of support and flexibility.

**What do you like best about Foothold?**

From a EHR viewpoint, the ease of navigation and structuring to fit needs was very excellent. the protocols made sense, creating reports via excel downloads was readily available and explained. the flexibility in design and modules such as maintenance and work orders for housing that you do not typically see in EHRs was very helpful.  Meghan Branca was a superb trainer.

**What do you dislike about Foothold?**

some of the reporting could have been easier and occasionally could not enhance or shorten but that is nitpicking

ask fro Meghan Branca. the trainer matters!

**What problems is Foothold solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Foothold is where we keep all non-medical case management client service plans, progress notes, etc. In addition to avoiding large amounts of paper and problematic record keeping, it allows HIPAA-complaint auditing, CQI, readily available sharing of information for case conferencing, downloading of medical records and events, etc. it saves a tremendous amount of time by staff and also ensures to funders we have state-of-the-art record keeping, service delivery and quality review.

What I like most is being able to run reports so quickly when our grant writers are looking for demographics or other information in a program or agency wide.

I don't really find a downside but maybe having a certain amount of free customization or formbuilding

I enjoy the user-friendly atmosphere Foothold provides, as well as their attention to customer service. The look of the EHR we are using is more appealing, and the system is easy to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Foothold?**

I would prefer to have a better-looking outlay for our Service Plans, as they are boxed and can be hard to follow, as well as having page numbers included on all forms.

Foothold is solving several technical and system errors we suffered from our past EHR and making the transition to their system much easier than any other transition we've done.

How easy it is to report out virtually any data that has been input.

The internal referral process, referring clients from one of our programs to another, is not super intuitive and can be a bit convoluted.

If you take advantage of the support offered you can't fail.

The biggest problem solved is simply moving from paper files to a centralized online file.  Without this ability we would have struggled mightily during this time of remote work.
