Flippity **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Richard S. | Blackboard Support and Services Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2021 **What do you like best about Flippity for G Suite?** I like that Flippity will take information from a platform I am familiar with (Google Sheets) and turn it into a fun and interactive activity such as a quiz game. **What do you dislike about Flippity for G Suite?** I have not really found anything I dislike; if anything, I wish there were more templates. **What problems is Flippity for G Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are using Flippity in an attempt to increase student engagement in the classroom. ### 2. Quick, Easy to Use Templates for Classroom Interactivity **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Heather V. | Instructional Design and Faculty Development Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2020 **What do you like best about Flippity for G Suite?** Flippity has over 20 templates for use with Google Sheets to make interactive, engaging classroom activities such as a quiz based on a popular TV game show, flash cards, a random name picker, time lines, click and drag activities and many more. The templates are easy to use, with each one including a demo of how the activity works and detailed instructions for setup along with a simple copy button to make it your own. The user simply replaces the content of the spreadsheet with their own content, publishes to the web, and then uses the link provided by Flippity to access the activity. It truly is easy and a fun way to engage students without the need for any programming knowledge. I've been using Flippity for years, and they continue to add content. They have recently added a tab on their page called "Skip the Spreadsheet" for those who do not want to use Google Sheets and want to generate a quick activity. It works well, but I'll explain what I dislike about it below. **What do you dislike about Flippity for G Suite?** The "Skip the Spreadsheet" page would be great if you are in a hurry, but there is no way to save your activity for re-use. I am sure I'd be that person to have it all set up and ready to go, then accidentally close the browser and lose everything. At one time, Flippity had a Chrome Extension that made it super simple to access their website and your own templates from the browser. It stopped working some time ago, and was never replaced. A recent search showed that it isn't even in the Chrome Web Store anymore. I do miss that feature and would love to see them bring it back. **Recommendations to others considering Flippity for G Suite:** Go in, play around, make some activities, and give it a try. It's free, and you can't really go wrong. Take time to read the instructions carefully, as this is the main reason anyone who I have worked with may have difficulty setting it up. They may have skipped a step in the setup, and each step must be followed carefully. **What problems is Flippity for G Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?** Teachers are always on the hunt for ways to engage students, especially for review of content prior to assessment. There are templates all over the web for that "popular TV game show" I mentioned above, but Flippity is by far the easiest to use, to edit, to add or remove teams, and so on. It even includes simple sound effects for when a team scores. I train faculty at a community college, and they find Flippity easy to use with their students as well, which encourages them to use it. I have worked for two decades with teachers who said they "don't have time" to set up many of the elaborate activities offered by publishers and on the web. They love Flippity! ### 3. The way I used it was quick. I need quick and efficient. That's what it is. Actually filling out all these questions is slowing everything. My workload is unbelievable. It's a Sunday- 6:10. Are you kidding me? I need quick and efficient. Flippity. **What problems is Flippity for G Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?** Nothing- for me. ### 4. Students enjoy working with the different applications and they are very quickly put together. Great demo tools to help you explore prior to playing with them and you can easily modify it to be tailored to your needs. **What do you dislike about Flippity for G Suite?** Adding multiple sheets to my Google Drive, sometimes I forget the change the title so that they are easily findable. Google thing Google will search within the document too! **Recommendations to others considering Flippity for G Suite:** If you are looking to engage your students easily, this is your tool. You can easily create engaging tools for students in your classroom. I love to use the Bingo board for my students when reviewing our classroom vocabulary, because it is easy to just copy and past into it. The others tools are also wondeful such as the name picker and the indiviual name picker tool. Most of these are set it once and you don't need to change anything. **What problems is Flippity for G Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?** Classroom engagement has increased. ### 5.
