I do think it has a bit of a learning curve, and I am probably not getting everything out of it that it can do. Every so often, it can be slow to load. **What problems is Pear Deck for G Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am solving the problem of having students both in-person and virtual and having kids be able to interact more when presenting information in a fun and new way. I can also collect data quickly using this add-on and can increase the active interactions between students and the material. ### 2. It allows me to make creating flashcards a fun experience that builds group working skills. I also enjoy how it allows me to export my class's completed flashcards to Gimkit to review. **What do you dislike about Pear Deck for G Suite?** The only thing that I dislike about Pear Deck is that the auto grouping leaves you with a group of one in the Flash Card Factory when you have an odd number of students in your class. I would appreciate it if it were updated to give you an option for a group of 3 instead. **What problems is Pear Deck for G Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?** The big problem I am solving with Pear Deck for G Suite is making review days interactive and effective. The students are more interested in reviewing for a test or quiz when they help create the review materials. ### 3. You use the Add On menu and you get the Pear Deck menu that pops up. For years I would have students "falling through the cracks" and not doing any learning. Now that I use Pear Deck for G Suite I can always see whether a student is responding to each slide, and check for understanding on Every student, for Every concept, for Every class. This software extension has become a must have for me and my classrooms moving forward. **What do you dislike about Pear Deck for G Suite?** Peardeck for G Suite has a lot to offer the 21st century educator; however, there are still aspects that are lacking. I wish that the teacher of a peardeck "classroom" could set a range for students to complete activities on their own, as opposed to having students be all on the same slide or all have free access to any slides at any time. I also hope that Pear Deck for G Suite will soon consider adding some form of audio or video interaction as well. **Recommendations to others considering Pear Deck for G Suite:** Create a slide deck on Google Slides, or convert a PowerPoint to Google Slides and then simply download the attachment. I reccomend using Pear Deck preloaded questions and utilizing them for every slide. **What problems is Pear Deck for G Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?** Before using Pear Deck for G Suite, my lessons were always unidirectional. I presented and students passively listened, or pretended to listen, or slowly fell into a stupor. But now that I use Pear Deck for G Suite, my engagement problems are solved! When class starts every student logs in to our Google Slide Deck using a code or a link. Then - at the educators pace - the students respond to and interact with each slide. Questions are embedded in the slides, and I can see their answers in real time! Suddenly my online learning space has become interactive with students. I will often use student responses to then spark further conversation in class. If a student hasn't responded for more than 1 slide I can reach out to them privately or call on them publically to check and see why they haven't been answering our questions. It truly is a game changer in the educations sphere. ### 5. My favorite part about Pear Deck is that I can easily integrate it into Google Slides, which I constantly rely on for teaching and subbing. I especially appreciate the Pear Deck templates, which help me create presentations without starting from scratch. I like that instead of waiting for a formative assessment at the end of the presentation or the end of class, I can insert interactive activities and questions into the presentation itself and check student understanding as I teach. Then, if I see that students need more help understanding a topic, I can better explain it before I move onto the next topic. ### 7.
