The support and user community of Flexsim answers make problem-solving easy. its an invaluable tool for my work. Especially I like Process Flow, Tree Nodes API, GUI building option with JS support, external DB connection, External programming(Python) support, HTTP host for connection REST API's and list of statistical disrtibutions available to use in coding. **What do you dislike about FlexSim?** Flexsim not yet properly developed Git repositories for Python libraries to control Flexsim externally, manual method takes huge time. Reinforcement Learning need more detailed docimentation and a detail video on how to use with proper use cases. Need to develop new feature, while coding if the object is selected it should highlight in model, so it makes more visually good and comfertable to decode bugs. So far, I've focused mainly on building a warehouse simulation model, and I've been able to solve every issue I had. I'm also impressed with the amount of data I can pull from the model. **What do you dislike about FlexSim?** There is a steep learning curve and I am still learning as I go. The initial training was helpful, but I still had a lot of questions as I built my first actual model. I've been very impressed with the answers.flexsim message board; I'd probably be lost without it. Since I am new to 3d simulation modeling and I have no background in coding, I definitely needed some help starting out, but I need it less as I go now. **Recommendations to others considering FlexSim:** Overall, I think this is great software. It works well for warehouse and manufacturing environments. Be prepared to utilize the available help/training though, because if you're new to simulation, you'll need it. **What problems is FlexSim solving and how is that benefiting you?** I've used it for a new warehouse we are building. I've been able to analyze capacity, tow motor usage, dock usage, and congestion. This makes simulation of oddball mechanisms and conveyors possible without too much effort. FlexSim has been most helpful as a method of quickly visualizing a concept without the time or expense of needing to pay an outside contractor. A basic model is easier for many people to understand than a spreadsheet containing the same information. **What do you dislike about FlexSim?** I jumped into the software with no tutorials or training, and did find some of the nomenclature unusual, and hard to follow when reading through some of the online literature. I would recommend a knowledge of at least one basic language in order to get full functionality, a coworker with no programming experience at all found the object model confusing to work with. **What problems is FlexSim solving and how is that benefiting you?** FlexSim is being used to identify bottle necks in a buffer/storage system. The best part of using Flexsim is I was so surprised to see the robots functional features which I didn't have it in my previous simulation software called Automod. The visual representation of Flexsim model is catchy and anyone who wants to view the entire plant function will definitely have a treat for eyes. Dashboards are really awesome to do statistical analyses, gives better clarity of machine utilization and gives a platform to experiment with so many combinations. **What do you dislike about FlexSim?** So many updates keep coming but that's not a dislike for sure, but it's a time consuming to upgrade. Also, the model limits should be increased from 30 to 70 for free users at least to work on building SMEs at home. Fully built (a section or a part) of SMEs will have a better reach to the clients or manufacturing company to rethink about implementation of the software in their company. Flexsim license price can be reduced or given in a discount price for people planning to open a start-up consultant to help industry solve their problem easily. This way this software gets good recognition in the competitive market. **What problems is FlexSim solving and how is that benefiting you?** Identifying bottlenecks in the Manufacturing process line, optimizing the production line by increasing the throughput and reducing the inventory in between the processes. Optimizing the healthcare clinic queue system for patients waiting and speeding up the examine process. Next plan is to model a rice milling factory with a warehouse management. The warehouse and logistics will be new for me to explore Flexsim. Another, one will be managing food take away management and order delivery to the customers. Benefits: Compare to my previous software that I used to build and analyze models, Flexsim is so user friendly and dragging & dropping machines were something that I used to code in my previous software. ### 16. Maybe it will create a new problem. It will cost a lot if I do trial errors directly. but Flexsim facilitates me with experiment tools So I don't worry to spend a lot of money. Some simple models can be built very fast with a few clicks. I think that using advanced software called OPTIMISER can be a winning combination because we can precisely calculate the best possibilities in our process without repeating simulations many times. Results can be easily exported and presented in Excel 3D/2D graphs. **What do you dislike about FlexSim?** For more advanced simulation models, knowledge of coding/programming is a must. The problem also lies with the Virtual Reality feature because the program is using only one core on the system, which means in larger models, VR simulation is not possible due to low frame rates. I think the program should be optimized to run on multiple cores to be able to use the full power of modern computers. I also miss a larger library of pre-made items/resources. Since our company has a good internal support team for FlexSim, they were able to build a good internal library so we as users have a better and easier experience. Finally, I miss connectivity with other software (in my case, Robot Studio to estimate robot cycle times). **Recommendations to others considering FlexSim:** This software is intended for daily use due to its complexity, and it takes time to build and analyze simulations to be useful. When considering purchasing it, keep in mind that good output from this software requires time for building and analyzing the simulation output. This time is worthwhile because it can uncover significant savings in production, storage, or wherever you need it. **What problems is FlexSim solving and how is that benefiting you?** Assembly process in production to see automation possibilities and get a better overview of bottlenecks in the current process. For example, we consider some automation to replace manual workers with robots. We use this software to confirm/correct our estimations and see potential risks or influence of automation on new work processes. The second field of use would be for logistic purposes to evaluate the stream of material from molding machines to storage and to assembly lines. It is possible to import custom CAD files to improve the accuracy of the simulation and have a exact copy of the real process.
