FilePilot is a free, open-source desktop client for fast and secure file transfers over SFTP, FTP, FTPS, SCP, S3, WebDAV, and major cloud storage providers. Built on Tauri with a Rust-powered engine, it offers a dual-pane browser, resumable multi-threaded transfers, folder sync with conflict resolution, JavaScript macro automation, and on-device AES-256 encrypted credentials with zero telemetry. FilePilot is a free, open-source desktop application for moving files to and from any server — a single tool that replaces your FTP client, S3 browser, and cloud drive apps. It connects over FTP, SFTP, FTPS, SCP, Amazon S3 (plus MinIO/Ceph), WebDAV, and cloud storage like Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, and Azure Blob Storage, including support for SSH jump hosts and SOCKS5/HTTP proxies. The dual-pane file browser puts your local machine and remote server side by side, with drag-and-drop transfers, folder comparison, synchronized browsing, and built-in directory analysis and search. Beyond simple transfers, FilePilot lets you edit remote files directly, diff file versions, batch rename with regex, manage Unix permissions visually, and compress/extract archives server-side over SSH — without downloading anything locally. Its Rust-powered transfer engine (built on Tauri, not Electron) delivers multi-threaded, resumable transfers with real-time progress, checksum validation, bandwidth scheduling, and webhook alerts to Slack, Discord, or Teams. A backup scheduler and two-way folder sync with conflict resolution keep directories in step, and an offline queue holds pending transfers safely if your connection drops. Security is local-first: all credentials are encrypted on-device with AES-256-GCM behind a master password (600,000 rounds of PBKDF2), and FilePilot never transmits or has visibility into your passwords. Teams can optionally layer on the Enterprise Vault for centralized credential provisioning, IP allowlisting, and audit logging. Power users get a built-in JavaScript macro editor for automating repetitive tasks, an extensible plugin SDK for custom protocols and panels, a command palette (Ctrl+K), multi-tab workflows, and a migration wizard to import existing sites from FileZilla or WinSCP. FilePilot runs natively on Windows 10+, macOS Big Sur+, and major Linux distributions. It's 100% free and open source under the MIT License — no premium tiers, no accounts, no telemetry.
