Is ezCater free, or does it offer a free trial?

No. According to G2 data, ezCater does not offer a free plan or free trial. Users need to purchase a paid plan to access the product. Visit the seller's official pricing page for current pricing details and plan options.

Who is ezCater pricing best suited for?

Based on G2 reviews of ezCater, ezCater's pricing is best suited for mid-market organizations placing frequent, high-volume catering orders. G2 reviewers from biotechnology, healthcare, financial services, legal services, and accounting firms represent the heaviest users, typically ordering for recurring office lunches, client meetings, and team events. Enterprise reviewers highlight spend management, dedicated account contacts, and AP integrations as key value drivers. Small business reviewers benefit from the pay-as-you-go model with no subscription commitment, though G2 users note that order minimums and delivery fees create friction for very small teams. Organizations with tax-exempt status also extract disproportionate value, with multiple G2 reviewers citing centralized tax exemption handling as a primary reason for adoption.

What are the key differences between the free and paid versions of ezCater?

According to G2's pricing data for ezCater, there is no free tier. ezCater operates a single enterprise tier under a pay-as-you-go model, with custom quotes available for enterprise needs. One G2 reviewer explicitly notes that ezCater is free to set up and use as a platform, with costs incurred per order rather than via subscription. ezCater Enterprise includes recurring meal programs, spend management, budget tools, reporting, invoicing, and workplace integrations. There is no lower paid tier to compare against, so the meaningful distinction is between the no-subscription access model and the per-order fees, delivery charges, and service markups that G2 reviewers frequently flag as the real cost of using ezCater.

Is ezCater considered good value for its pricing?

G2 reviewers give ezCater a strong overall rating, and value sentiment is largely positive despite recurring cost complaints. Multiple G2 users across small business and mid-market segments flag delivery fees and service charges as notably high, sometimes reaching one-third of the total order cost, and several note that ezCater pricing runs higher than ordering directly from restaurants. Yet high-rating reviewers consistently cite time savings, centralized invoicing, tax exemption handling, spend visibility, and responsive customer service as justifying the premium. One G2 reviewer switched from DoorDash specifically for ezCater's catering-scale capabilities. The consensus: strong value for frequent, high-volume corporate catering; weaker value for small or infrequent orders where fees outweigh convenience benefits.

What do you like best about ezCater?

I like the range of options available and how easy it is to place an order in a single application, whether I’m using my laptop or my mobile phone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ezCater?

Watch the hidden costs when booking. The premium costs associated with using the service. Prices through EZCater may be pricier than booking directly with the vendor. Then you add in delivery fees that can range from $25-$50 and then the delivery driver tip. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about ezCater?

I love the rewards ezCater offers. They help with finding a vendor that will provide a lunch at the last minute for unexpected meetings, which is super useful. The initial setup of ezCater was easy, making the transition smooth when we switched from having someone in the office ordering lunches. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ezCater?

I have attempted to add or change something on an order but it seems that the issue is when the change is done before the order leaves the business but they never accept. I have had to run out just to get one lunch even before my order left the restaurant instead of the business including one more and charging me for another lunch. I also dislike that sometimes the food wont be fresh but that isnt EZ Caters fault. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
