**What do you like best about Joist?**

The most helpful thing about Joist was that it was simple to use and it allowed us to teach others how to use it fairly quickly as well. I also like how you can search every year and month on a sheet and it shows the clients that we serviced in that time, that is really helpful when we call clients to check back up on them a year later.

**What do you dislike about Joist?**

the least helpful thing I liked about joist was that it doesn't let you schedule jobs for employees.

**What problems is Joist solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is solving the hassle of invoicing. It has helped us in the entire process, making it easier, faster and more organized which has then led to less errors. It helpes us keep organized and it allows us to worry about one less thing because we know that we have what we need recorded on every invoice and it all filled for us as well.

**What do you like best about Joist?**

We would get notifications anytime anyone opened up an estimate or invoice (even if multiple times), if CC payment, we were paid the next business day, no matter the time the payment was made, we could enter change orders for signature, and the sync with Quickbooks Online worked well. It also offered financing through Acorn, so that was a plus. It was very user friendly.

**What do you dislike about Joist?**

It didn't have a marketing email tool or a way to ask for Google reviews after a job was completed. We had to do that manually. It also didn't have a way to job cost or let us have a way to track costs from each job. It was also getting more and more expensive to be lacking important functions.

**What problems is Joist solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't know. We stopped using it about 6 months ago.

**What do you like best about Joist?**

The most helpful in using Joist is that you can easily invoice our clients. I haven't had any errors as well when using this tool. Also, it's way faster, efficient and accurate when making an invoice.

**What do you dislike about Joist?**

As for the moment, it would be great if, when making an invoice, the tool can still detect the client recorded in our account, and it may not duplicate in the "My Clients" icon.

**What problems is Joist solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Joist is an efficient and accurate tool when creating an invoice for our clients. Navigating the tool is easy and if I would be having issues with the tool, we can still have the choice to communicate with the customer service.

**What do you like best about Joist?**

Very easy to navigate and create custom invoices and estimates; easy to keep a database of clients & customers; easy to keep a rolling list of items and set pricing on each line item.

**What do you dislike about Joist?**

Honestly, there isn't much I don't like or that doesn't work very well with Joist. The only complaint I've had in recent years is the app not working great for some employees but we're always able to work around it using the computer.

**What problems is Joist solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping track of individual line items and pricing which helps streamline our pricing from job to job. Also helpful keeping track of all estimates sent through various project managers at the company in one spot.

Joist is a very helpful tool when doing invoices it was easy to navigate and the interface is very user-friendly.

I like everything about joist as we can use it as a training tool as well and we can delete and edit the invoice when needed

As of the moment I cannot see anything about the tool about the benefits is helping me do my job faster.

This app is very helpful in terms of creating invoices and billings. It provides information on every invoice that you created as well as the progress of payment.

The least that I can say is that this app only focuses on real estate and not as a whole.

**What do you like best about Joist?**

Easy and quick to navigate, easy to create templates.  With a click of a few buttons, my customers get their estimates.  I like the "opened or not opened" estimate icon. The emails I receive when an estimate has been viewed an how many times it's been viewed.

**What do you dislike about Joist?**

Have not found one thing I dislike.  My only suggestion would be to be able create a gift card portal where customers can purchase to gift.

Because it's accessible from a phone app, I'm able to create estimates quicker.

**What do you like best about Joist?**

I’ve been with joist since day 1. In  July 2014, I gave them a shot upon receiving my California Roofing Contractor’s License. #1005829. In almost 7 years, I’ve never had a single issue. I’ve started over at invoice and estimate #1, once again. They take credit cards which is huge. Every client has paid my roofing company because we are always paid. We are paid on time. 
Joist doesn’t try to extort or threaten you. They want to help you! 

Recently , joist initiated a new credit card platform. I’ve used Pay Pal for years and it’s been up and down, recently on my personal selling account had a 20 long wait for $300 bucks. I was skeptical as hell when I first heard joist was taking on PayPal. 

I was furious and even thought about jumping ship. Imagine starting your own company, no loans , no debt you own a nice dump truck, a new Audi, no law suites, cash flow after cash flow. Other than locking down California, we’ve been doing roofs, siding, decking all day and everyday, 10 months outta the year in a heavy weather region. 

 Next thing I know a loyal Client of mine emailed me and ask if I could do a small $7500 roof in Roseville Ca for him. “Here’s $7500- Thank you Brian”. No negotiations, Not bs or haggling, he’s a big time real estate investor that has approx 500 rental properties. Pay pal didn’t stutter at all! They sent a message stating I’d been paid that evening. “ You’ll be paid within a few hours” On that same night it was transferred to my account as I’d set it on automatic transfers. No extra charges nada. 

All credit card companies charge 2.9% minimum and mo charge an extra fee per transaction. That’s all they charged and boom, got it in my account fast and banged that roof out 2 days . That’s what I call “Rock-in and Rollin”, Faster than joists last system that was impeccably excellent! I gave it a shot and I’m good to go.love it!  I do believe joist has grown  into a contender in the application contractor business and I’ve written 1000-2000 plus estimates. One click they’d turned into invoices and emails go out. I’ve grown with joist. I’ve never gotten behind. I do all my invoices and I’m the only one in there because if I make a mistake, I’m accountable for my actions, however I hurt someone or hurt myself. Joist has everything I thin reach to conquer and keep your cash flow constant with joist, no matter which  industry you are looking for..5 stars to Darcy Fitzpatrick! 

His confidence in his product and and his solution of telling me “They’re going to work close with PayPal and see to it that their payments are efficient and their customer service is effective. PayPal is into a new realm with proven businesses due to joists relationship. If PayPal try’s to strong arm joists clients, (yes joists clients not PayPal’s contractors), trust me, the folks at joist are committed to being #1 in estimates and invoices. I look forward to the day they exceed companies like quick books. I’ll be on the board of directors (lol jk) laughing all the way to Costa Rica and back by private jet. ...best app, best service not a single issue!

Absolutely nothing. I’m a huge fan and probably the most effective user...well at least the most effective user I know :)

Problems? Being a. Roofing Contractor’s is a huge problem. Joist doesn’t add to my work load. They ease my evenings and long days of estimates. Btw I’ve never lost or misplaced a single estimate or invoice.

Joist USED to be great, until they began making major platform changes WITHOUT first polling or notifiying users BEFOREHAND. I wake up two days ago and discover they have changes payment processors from the flawless WePay to the utterly incompetent and useless PayPal. No notice. No warning, not even a ‘hey we’re thinking of changing payment processors, who should we use? “ They have become so immune to feedback it’s embarrassing. Take your business elsewhere. I hear Wave is a great alternative.

I am leaving their platform because they no longer solve any problem for me without me having to fork out far too much money for things like reports, that are included in every other invoicing provider.

My favorite feature is being able to see when a customer has looked at an estimate or invoice you sent them.

I don't like that I can't search for estimates or invoices via line items or words in them. It makes it more time consuming to find an older estimate that I may need to pull up.

With Joist I am easily able to create and send estimates for clients. It has made my billing process more efficient and reduced the time to prepare an estimate.

After using the app for years and generate a lot of money in  processing fees  for them on a monthly basis one day out of the blue they removed my logo and other basic features requiring me to upgrade to be able yo have them again. Ridiculous with all the profits they make out of all the credit card volume America Refinishing Pros manages.

Look for other options since logo and other features are not offered for free anymore

They process the money really quick. In 24 to 48 hours the funds are in the America Refinishing Pros bank account

**What do you like best about Joist?**

It's incredibly easy to use with a low learning curve. It organizes clients and contracts well enough and allows for multiple fields including logo, legal and just about everything else to be manipulated giving a decent amount of control to the user to customize estimates and contracts. It also is easy to use across multiple platforms. I have used it on all my devices including iOS, Andriod and PC with ease. Also, the fact that I can be notified when a client just opens the contract to view it does wonders for my business. It helps me plan strategy for my business much better. For example, if a client who said they were not interested in signing my contract, reviews it a month later, I can speculate they are reconsidering before they even contact me.

**What do you dislike about Joist?**

It's slightly underdeveloped. I would like to see more organizing features such as how clients or contracts can be organized or found, not just based on date or alphabetical order. Also, there is a 10 image limit allowed on the contract which is constraining. Finally, and most annoying, it does not allow for hyperlinks to be inserted. These last two issues are especially annoying for me because if I want to incorporate multiple photos into the contract, my best workaround is to attach a link to google photos album. Unfortunately, the text remains as text and does not convert into a hyperlink. 

**Recommendations to others considering Joist:**

Very easy to use. You do not need a lot of computer knowledge nor training. A very desirable quality to many non-tech savvy individuals in the construction industry.

As stated earlier, it helps me stay organized with my clients, plan strategy for future contracts and comes at no cost to me as it mainly a free program.

One of the best things about using joist for me is the ease of keeping all my invoices in one place, and not having to find a place for paperwork.

I really have not found anything that I don't like about joist and I have been using it for over a year now.

I don't have to go meet in person to send quotes. I can just send it to client and they can sign and we can start work. This sometimes saves a couple days of back and forth when I can be working.

Do not use this app if you expect to get your payments in a timely manner, despite their "$10,000" limit they will hold funds of much lesser amounts and then dictate what they feel is require on your invoices to get paid. All while holding funds from your fully paid invoices!

I love that estimates and invoices can be wrote up within minutes right from your phone tablet or laptop. They can also be sent via email immediately and the app shows every time the estimate or invoice is opened or viewed.

Can’t say that I dislike anything. I think the app is very well laid out.

I like how functional the app is and that I can quickly make updates to invoices and email the customer directly from the app.

In the past I have lost all of my information for an estimate if I didn't stop and save along the way. I'm not sure why it happened but nevertheless it was frustrating to have to do it all again, especially since I was at the customer's house.

Joist is easy to use and is a great tool for us as a small business and worth checking out if you are in the market for a new invoicing system!

The software has a great user interface and a modern feel, without the user being overwhelmed by overloaded features.

There is no way that one can accept online payments from the software and thus one has to manually update and chase payments

**What do you like best about Joist?**

I love how everything is so easily categorized, it saves my information and creates a very good-looking spreadsheet with all the information broke down. I am also able to add on markups that are not visible to the customers but spread out in a percentage over line items. Plus, they offer financing through their system itself which is EXTREMELY convenient.

**What do you dislike about Joist?**

Honestly, there is not any thing I dont like about this system. I used to use Invoice Bee but am so much happier with Joist.

I am able to email my customers a spreadsheet and get notifications when they open them. Joist offers financing through their system which is extremely convenient, and it is all very user friendly for both us as contractors as well as our customers. It also syncs with Quickbooks, which is awesome as I utelize that program every day to keep track of my income and expenses.

**What do you like best about Joist?**

I love how I can use the app on my iphone and iPad while visiting the client.  Makes life easy.  This way I can discuss with them what they want done and I don't forget.  No notes.  I can create the estimate and email it right to them.

**What do you dislike about Joist?**

The only dislike is if I forget my ipad or iphone I have to wait to I get back to the office to do the work!  :) this very rarely does happen. But I have switched back over to Quickbooks because I didn't like having two different software/accounting programs.

if you are a freelancer and have no software pick this.  You will not regret it.

**What problems is Joist solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can track clients invoices and payments better.  I can modify estimates easier.  I think for a sole prop like a contractor just starting out Joist would be an excellent program.  Perfect for a handy person type situation or a freelancer doing computer consulting.

that you're able to estimate projects on it. great for estimating, invoicing, online credit card payments, organizing overall, and can link to quickbooks which is a plus for small businesses like me.

customer support isn't helpful and they've disabled and reenabled phone support, also charing for it sometimes too. very confusing process.

It's great for the price and serves the overall purpose of what the software is made for. however, if you're looking for something where customer support is taken into consideration, I'd look elsewhere. They continue to change things around which make it very confusing and not user friendly at all.

I like the convenience of the joist app, I like that it’s free app. You can send an invoice to any email and it lets them pay through the email, it also tells you each time the invoice was opened and viewed.

I don’t dislike anything about the joist app I think it’s very well put together

**What problems is Joist solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping organized, keeping records of invoices that went out, it also keeps track of how much I’ve made.

**What do you like best about Joist?**

Its easy to setup, easy to use, and it's so efficient. I love that I can use it on my phone as well as on my computer at the office. I do alot of estimating on site and being able to log everything in the app and have it immediately available on the work computer is awesome! 

**What do you dislike about Joist?**

Nothing! It's a great product and I'd recommend it to anyone.

I feel this app is very user friendly. Even for someone who might not be as tech savvy as some people. Definitely give joist a try.

It saves so much time. It streamlines my job and make estimating a little bit enjoyable actually.

**What do you like best about Joist?**

I love how seamless it is to not only manage your clients, but then you can easily prepare & send invoicing to clients, manage billing aspect of your business, even easily accept payments from your clients, all from the same place.

**What do you dislike about Joist?**

What's there not to like?! I honestly can't think of anything I dislike. If they could make it even more inclusive & have more customization options that would be nice, but not necessary 

**What problems is Joist solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to manage my clients & their info from one source, & then manage & keep track of my invoicing/billing for each of them, accept payments from them directly thru Joist, & therefore be able to keep up with the status of all my client accounts.

**What do you like best about Joist?**

The joist software is extremely user friendly. And interface that is so simple allows for less time entering information and more time being productive.

**What do you dislike about Joist?**

I dislike the full server based storage that can cause loading issues if internet is not being reliable.

**What problems is Joist solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Credit card processing via emailed invoices is great and takes that step out of my hands.
