I really appreciate how Envisio has enabled us to move from a clunky, ineffective system to a streamlined, visually appealing platform for strategic planning. The dashboards are powerful, both internally and for public transparency, allowing us to track progress on transformative projects like Measure Q and our agency strategic objectives. The partnership with Envisio has felt genuine, with thoughtful support throughout implementation, making it one of the best experiences I've had with a SaaS product in my government career. The ability to clone plans, customize dashboards, and embed KPIs is helping us drive accountability and performance across our organization, and it's set us up for a future of expanded, meaningful use. My main frustration is that, despite Envisio's capabilities, we aren't yet using it to its fullest potential across all departments. Some teams still funnel updates through a single person rather than having project owners enter details directly, which can reduce ownership and efficiency. There's also a continued learning curve as we work to shift culture and ensure everyone is utilizing the tool properly, but that's more of an internal challenge than a problem with Envisio itself. What I appreciate most about Envisio is how it turns strategic planning from a static, top-down process into a living, collaborative, and transparent system. Every department and employee can see themselves in the plan, track progress in real time, and contribute ideas year-round. The public dashboard is a game-changer for transparency, especially in the higher education sector, and the onboarding support from Envisio’s team has been consistently accessible, engaging, and thoughtful. In the context of our experience, I haven't encountered significant drawbacks with Envisio. Previously, our main challenges were with other platforms that lacked true strategic planning tools and accountability features. The onboarding and technical support provided has been considerable. Lots of resources, training and webinars. Community of other users. As an administrator, there was more of a learning curve than I expected. However, with the readily available help resources and a human support team willing to jump on a call, any issues were dealt with. It has helped our city to modernize how we track and report the progress of major initiatives, both internally and to our residents. Envisio was a snap to implement, intuitive to learn and the partnership with our support team is a realtionship that evolves as our internal needs evolve. It would be incredibly helpful to report on previous / past data. Currently, I can generate reports for what is actively in envisio - Alternatively, I would like to report on historical data - or updates. Because of this, we are pulling and storing pdf'd reports every month, knowing if we tried to pull the same report in 2-3 months we wouldn't get the same update. Envisio allowed us to do an easy and quick transition to automated planning software by replicating our existing template. I love the fact that Envisio helps us track and maintain a record of our work towards meeting the strategic objectives of the Commission. Since starting Envisio, I have been able to ditch the spreadsheets and hold staff accountable to providing timely updates. It provides form to our work and gives us a great way to track data on KPIs. I also love that is a great space to set up annual action steps and allows staff to easily participate in the development with staff. The biggest dislike I had is not coming around with Envisio. Their new module allows for more robust storage of data to use with our strategic objectives to share a story about how we are moving on the work. Envisio does an excellent job of requesting updates from users and grounding folks in the organization's mission and plan. The tool is forward-leaning, pulling for an update, and is easy and simple to use for all users. We have a high rate of adoption and satisfaction from our staff. The challenge with Envisio is not with Envisio, but with your staff. They may resist providing updates on their work on a monthly basis. You'll have to require them to do that, and they'll find Envisio makes the process easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
