Within a few weeks we had a proper picture of what data we hold, where it goes, and which of it was a problem. Since then it's steady rather than dramatic. Things get picked up before they become urgent, and when our team needs an answer they get one they can act on rather than a list of caveats. **What do you dislike about Engage Compliance?** It only works if someone on our side stays engaged. Nobody's going to sit in your standups for you, so you still need an internal person who can answer questions about how the product works. Worth knowing going in. **What problems is Engage Compliance solving and how is that benefiting you?** Two things. Our data protection obligations now have a clear owner instead of drifting between teams, and the paperwork behind that is written down and current, which matters when a customer asks. Second benefit I underrated: the internal time we get back. This used to eat days of attention but now it mostly doesn't reach us. ### 2. Engage sits close enough to the business to know what's coming, so a new tool or a new client type gets looked at before it turns into a problem rather than after. The answers come back in a form I can actually act on. Nobody has ever sent me a memo I had to decode. **What do you dislike about Engage Compliance?** Somebody internally has to be able to explain how the coaching actually works, what gets recorded and who sees it. Once that's set up it runs quietly, but the first month needs some initial attention. **Recommendations to others considering Engage Compliance:** Go for it! They help with complex data privacy matters so you don't have to worry about that anymore plus easy setup and dedicated experts. **What problems is Engage Compliance solving and how is that benefiting you?** Coaching means we hold things people said in confidence, and until recently nobody owned the question of how that's protected. That sits with someone now. The commercial side of it matters more than I expected though. Bigger clients put us through DD review, which caused lost weeks assembling answers each time. Now the documentation already exists and is current, so those conversations move easy ### 3. Engage gives us a named DPO and keeps the privacy side handled and documented, for a lot less than a full-time hire would have cost us. **What do you dislike about Engage Compliance?** Nothing really. It's a fractional service, but they're easy to reach and things get done. **What problems is Engage Compliance solving and how is that benefiting you?** Privacy was one of those things nobody internally wanted to own, and Engage just took it off our hands as our DPO. Best part is they talk like humans, no jargon, and they fit around how we already work instead of adding process. Advice comes in plain English instead of legal memos, responses are usually same day, and he works inside our existing tools rather than adding process. He built our records of processing, ran DPIAs on new features, and handles customer privacy questionnaires so deals don't stall in security review. **What do you dislike about Engage Compliance?** Nothing. It's a fractional service so non-urgent items can take a day, but anything time sensitive has always been handled fast. **What problems is Engage Compliance solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed a named DPO and proper GDPR coverage without a full-time hire.
